  1. haha sorry owner did specify they don't want corner basin. but you are right, it would be ideal to have a corner basin in the common bathroom. i did suggest this, but owner doesn't like it. perhaps it's too cramped. eventually went for a rectangular basin between the fat pipes and the WC, which I think would fit in nicely. PS. we already decided on sanitary items
  2. renovating 3-room has low profit margins though but it's quite fun playing around with the space (only to be foiled by prefab walls) yes! that's why we're getting something similar to your sink.
  3. Continued updates for 19 Jul ps. i dislike trolls.
  4. Some updates for 19 Jul
  5. Sanitary items all confirmed in 1 night! Looking forward to the splendid bathrooms No PVC at all
  6. hmm, you were at GR link last night too?
  7. am currently pondering to use wood in my bathroom. have the following choices. either this: Acacia wood or this: Balau wood what do you guys think? cost is about the same.
  8. can just put a wall-mount shelf between aircon and tv, eg LACK from ikea. http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/60103750 Product dimensions Length: 74 3/4 " Depth: 10 1/4 " Thickness: 2 " Length: 190 cm Depth: 26 cm Thickness: 5 cm
  9. thanks for the support prefabricated walls are thin and have lines running along them every 8ft. If you check inside the walls, there are internal metal supports. It would have been so fun if I could hack the walls. Oh wells going sanitary shopping with owner tonight, hope we can confirm the items dean, I use floorplanner.com
  10. Tiler Seng already mentioned his name...
  11. I just hide it in my wall
  12. no the track is not charged, it will not consume any electricity when plugs are in off mode.
  13. jaskel, the word i used was "may", not "will" it's a valid concern and is better to be confirmed before the reno is over so that any changed (if needed) can be done. this concern does not depend on whether i am a houseowner and/or a contractor.
  14. yep, so you tried using the sink so far? how's the splash effect? your mbr toilet does not have much space to place your personal hygiene items/skin toner/cleanser/hand soap/etc. where do you store them?
  15. the tracks are cheap, the switches are pricey there are generally 3 ranges of switches, some more pricey than others. rj45 port works like a network point, you plug in your lan cable from your computer into the rj45 port. yes, you will need to lay lan cables in your house in order for your rj45 port to work
  16. this concept looks very similar to what i had in mind
  17. haha, that bit i did plan. it's at my belly button level so no issue. and yes, my concealed shower lever is very curvy, no sharp edges
  18. for just a moment, i thought that pic was taken in my home they look so alike
  19. one thing i like about coordinating yourself is that you really learn a lot (since everything is new) and that everything can be done according to your requirement, down to the last tile. so a lot of personalization and details goes into the whole process. some people take 1-2 month leave just to do their reno this looks scary.. what do you mean by "goes out of the forum"? btw, does pixelated house mean that you will be having a lot of mosaic?
  20. indeed it's a challenge. i am speaking based on personal experience. take a look at the location of my shower head? only after we use it, then we realized what a mistake i made looks good, but not very practical. if i could redo it, I would do it slightly differently
  21. the basin is situated right on top of the floortrap so it's okay to be a splash zone anyway owner doesn't want any glass panels in bathroom
  22. Suggested 5 suitable basins for owner to choose from. One shortlisted
  23. see you this sat before 10am. we're going to Singapore Garden Festival after passing you the voucher was thinking of mailing it to you but worried it won't reach you in time. btw, you need a friends card to be able to use this voucher. you have one right? heh, he ask me to see how nice he paint your house and to consider to hire him in my future projects. i will keep in mind the rubbish, the spilled paint and the unpainted pipes i thought off-white would have been a nicer colour for your place blue seems a bit too bold
  24. no problem at all, it will be my pleasure to help you save money i'm sure your contractor already told you that granite appears darker when wet. but if you're going for black granite, dark black is still black both granite and marble are natural materials, so there is slight porosity. i wouldn't say it's difficult to maintain unless you own a white or very light coloured basin and tend to drop your lipstick often. from what i can see, your marble basin is very dark. so.. it should be fine. can read more here
