  3. Hi all, I have a few questions here and need some pointers... 1. Is overlaying tiles cheaper than hack & retiling? 2. If we overlay tile, will there be any problem in a long run (e.g. 5 years or 10 years down the road)? problem that i am referring here is like will the tile drop? hehe... not sure the example of problem given here is ridiculous..... If overlay is cheaper and the quality is same as hack & retiling, maybe will consider to overlay. Million thanks all

    Cellini

Anyone bought anything from Cellini before? We went to Furniture mall on last Monday and noticed that Cellini has a promotion, which i think is quite cheap and tempted. The package is 1 sofa+1bedframe+1 tv console+1 coffee table=S$1998. Anyone heard this package before? it is a good deal? advice needed. thanks.

  17. Hi Jaskel, thanks for your information. Have another enquiry. After the painting, how will the surface be? can we still c the small tiles? Because i browsed through your blog and realised that your bathroom floor doesnt look like tile and couldnt see any tile shape. (Please correct me if i am wrong). Because really have limited budget so dont think will hack the toilet floor n wall so now looking for the cheapest and nicest alternative way to do the toilet. If it is nice, wil consider kitchen also... thanks.
  18. Hi All, Just got my flat and is already 22 yrs old so the toilet wall and floor tiles are those old type (i.e. small tile). Would like to know whether the spray paint or the epoxy paint will be able to change the outlook? (means the small tile will looks like big tile after painting). Thanks for the information.
  19. Hi all, Read about Renovation guide from HDB website and noticed about registered contractor however not really clear What are the works that required to get a registered contractor? do we need to get a registered contractor for painting job or installation of L-Box job? Thanks...
  20. Hi all, Last month just manage to get our sweet home. However, it is a 22 years old flat so quite a number of things to do... First time owner so do not have any experience on renovating house and due to budget restriction, we do not intend to reno the whole flat. Here are the major works that we would like to do: 1. Redo both MBR and common toilet (i.e. change of toilet bowl, retile or overlay, installation of shower screen) 2. Change of Window (glass panel and grille) 3. Shifting of existing hob (including making a new hob top) + installation of a new chimney style hood. 4. making a storeroom by partitioning 5. making a L-box in living room 6. Repaint the whole house 7. rewiring the house 8. Change of main door gate (wrought iron or aluminium) Would appreciate if anyone will be able to provide an estimation cost for the works listed above. In fact, we have budget limitation of 10K. Will that be enough. In addition, what is the difference of getting an ID and just purely using contractor for reno? and shall I do it by a contractor with a lump sum quote or different contractors and quote for each respective work. Advise is really needed and thanks in advance for any information.
  21. Hi all, Thinking of adding a shower screen in our toilet. anyone know how much roughly will it cost? thanks.
