yupz.... thats the usual practise i guess....

primers and sealers are usually used when the walls has never been painted before, eg when you just replastered your walls.Helps to seal the microholes that will absorb air and solvents. This is to insure adhesion/absorbtion and acts as a bonding base. Sealers also prevents faster degradation of the subsequent coats of paints. For already coated walls, a base flat coat of emulsion will do just fine. Again...just my 2 cents...

painter will come in and do the base and primer coat only before the carpentry works starts. This is mainly white colour. If any wall rectification work is done, this has to be highlighted so that extra care is taken to avoid problems with the plaster drying. Once the carpentry works is over, painter will come in and do all the colour coats. Doing colour coats before carpentry works might result in "split batches" syndrome. You get 2 different layers with different drying times and will make the walls look uneven. Just my 2 cents....

i think you can get nippon easy wash package for maisonnette at around $1800. How many colours did they give you?

i paid $1350 for 5em using nippon. 3choice of colors. workmanship is not bad and the boss came around a week later to check if any areas needs to be touched up. The downside is that it takes them 2days to finish everything plus another 0.5 days a week later for the touchups...

Can try the people who painted my EM. Was recommended by a friend who got his house painted by the same people. Workmanship is okay. They took 2.5 days and cost 1.3K for three colours. 5room might be cheaper though. PM me for contact.

Hi All EM Gurus, I've bought an EM at Jurong West and I've heard that some have converted their 1storey wash area to a toilet? My ex-owner did not do just that so it is still a wash area. How much would it cost me to just add a toilet to the wash-area? Any recommendations on the P-Trap W-C? Any contacts to share? I tired off climbing up the stairs to the 2nd floor toilet le. All help, suggestions will be very useful. Many thanks.
