  1. i'm back to s'pore from my trip le~ alamak, spent the last few days cleaning up the house and washing/drying clothes.. just used the daiso sponge yesterday to clean the white gout of my floor, it's really quite effective! but it was still quite tiring to clean the whole floor. Must take note to try not to step on the gout, lol. Learning that maintaining a house is actually not that easy, hopefully it will get better as we get used to it loh...
  2. i'm overseas now... will carry on to show the pics of my bedroom and platform bed when i am back. stay tuned!
  3. thks, that looks gd but we like the trolley feel also. but i have a feeling we might be too lazy to spray paint the trolley eventually, hahaa...
  4. your reno finally start liao! gd luck!
  5. the ikea trolley cost 99 bucks, but no white one... I wanted a white one also but no choice, might spray paint it white when i have the time to do so loh.
  6. well, that's the best that we can find from the nippon and dulux catalogue... But it's alright, we are still loving the colour.
  7. I used the 'Lack' series. Used 2 x long shelves and 5 x short shelves in total. You have your design in mind already?
  8. We decided to use a ikea trolley as a side table, thought it would be interesting plus allow us to serve drinks easily when we have guests over.. I also like the simplicity of the white chairs against the bright green wall. So that's it for the living room, hope you guys like our living room.
  9. To finish off the living room pics, here is the tv console that we designed totally from ikea shelves! We were unwilling to spend a lot for a normal tv console, so i came up with this design after seeing this concept last year in the ikea showroom. Hehe... Very pleased with the overall effect. And best of all, it only cost us $243! Alan kindly got his guys to help us install the shelves FOC. Here is the other side of the wall near the windows after all the furniture has come in. We created a settee with 2 ikea Lack shelves that we laid horizontally on the floor. We didn't measure the length but it turned out that they fit just nicely with the shoe cabinet! Lucky sia... You can also see the orange orange L-shaped sofa that we got from king koil. Got it at a steal for just $799 plus $30 delivery charges!
  10. ok, have replied all already. Hope you can get a good quote from alan... But still must remember to bargain!
  11. paiseh to all those who asked for alan's contact but whom i have not replied.. Will try to reply all by tml. Gd nite! zz
  12. Ok lah, enough about the kitchen. Now moving on to the living room. Funny that they mentioned abt using lime green in the kitchen earlier on, cos we decided to use vibrant green on one side of our living room too! This wall is left blank for now but we are thinking of adding display cabinets to it some time in the future. Thinking of something like this drawing that Alan provided, but in a different green. Edit: Cropped the pic to remove my address. Hehe...
  13. Here is the flexible sink tap that we got from GR Link. Cost us just 40+ and we love the design and the feel of the water flow. It can be adjusted such that water will come out like from a shower head, so it feels good even when washing dishes.
  14. Paiseh to MIA for so long, was super busy shifting into the new house and cleaning up the place.... *tired...* here is the picture of the corner kitchen cabinet door, you can see that this allows bigger stuffs to be stored and be easily accessible instead: A closer look at the storage space instead for big items:
  15. Ok, will take a pic and show you. We had a door attached to another door such that the whole corner can open up fully. Will be clearer when i show the pic.
  16. everything is so swee! you can start charging admission tickets to your house le! Definitely there will be some problems with reno, good that you are not dwelling on them and moving on with life... But you might just want to post a short review when everything is done so that other forumers know what to look out for.
  17. i'm not as hardworking as you lah, have so much details in your blog. Sure! Feel free to drop by, but a bit far from your place hor... haha...
  18. Ya, was soooo busy these few weeks! Now i have finally cleared and handed over all work! Yeah! Can relax fully during my 3 weeks break finally... Yup, will post more pics now that i am FREE! hahaha....
  19. Thanks! I want my wife to feel cheerful when she is cooking for me mah, wahahaha.... (hope she doesn't read this) Both of us subscribe to M1! maybe they managed to brainwash us. lol
  20. Heya!~ Know who i am? hehe... My reno is completed liao, but only uploaded some of the pics cos too busy... We used some vibrant colours for the kitchen and living room also, but not as daring as you. haha... Remember the lunch this sunday hor, will send you more details through facebook.
  21. my blog also a bit quiet, but prob becos i'm too tired lately to add more pics... haha... it's ok lah, you still have not started yet! Sure there will be a lot more posts once you start your reno..
  22. Congratz. The quotes seem kind of ex as you are not doing floor tiles... Are you doing a lot of carpentry?
  23. So tired and busy these days with work, cleaning of new place and shifting in our stuffs... Reached home at 2am+ cos i had to lot of stuffs to clear before i go off for a long break next week onwards.. Anyway, here's the picture of the completed kitchen! The effect turned out as what i had imagined. Will post pics of the living room and bedrooms another time. zz
  24. That's just a tactic to make sure you sign up with them to avoid losing the $500! For me, i hate this kind of cheapo tricks... My contractor provided me with 2D and even 3D drawings before i signed up with him, although i must admit that is not common.
  25. Normally laminate work will start after painting, to prevent accidently staining the laminate. If you want to laminate only after everything is completed, it should be fine if you don't need the floor to be laminated under any carpentry work. This will also help prevent any damage to them during the reno process. P.S. You should find out from your contractor/ID if he needs to 'level' the floor first before laying the laminate.
