  1. Think the name is Strauss something.. It's just a few shops away from lightings.com.sg, at the corner. This price is for the transparent one, cash and carry. We only bought one, if you buy more, should be able to bargain with the uncle.
  2. Just to share, i got a very similar light to yours. Got it at a shop that is quite near to lightings.com.sg @balestier road... forgot the name but the shop is quite big. Got it for around 50+ but the uncle got admit that they gave a cheaper brand of the tube, haha...
  3. If the application is submitted online, the agent should be able to know immediately when the 1st appt date is. You might want to be careful in case the agent tried something funny behind your back like trying to get another seller... Think someone in the forum has mentioned something like that before...
  4. i know exactly how you feel! i had to fight the itch for so long... hahaha.... oh, i think Goobii has the exact same sofa bed that you want, except that it is in red... I saw it too at some fair in expo, think going for 699. Was tempted to buy but decided to wait as it is not a must... Settle the basic stuffs first...
  5. Don't buy your tv so fast, you will be able to get better models for the same price if you just wait... I also waited very long still haven't buy, hope coming IT fair will have good deals so that i can settle everything in one shot...
  6. Congratz on getting your place. Actually it is good that the flat do not have tiles as you will save $$ on hacking. My advice is to look around at the t-blogs and look at the pictures of the work done as well as the feedback from the forumers. There are quite a number of places which were quite well done without a huge budget. Just a note to beware of newbies with little num of posts claiming to have a good contractor/ID as it is a common trick for some to pretend to be customers while promoting themselves. Good luck with your reno!
  7. Hi, can pm me your quote for the blinds and the contact also? Thanks!
  8. welcome! You can buy the floorplan online and get the softcopy within 1 or 2 working days. Look forward to seeing your floorplan.
  9. Thanks batman and zezuzu for the reply. My main concern is to be able to change the existing lock to another one of different design. Seems that should be doable... I'm not looking for digital lock, just need a normal lock without a handle to turn on the outside. Don't have a pic of my lock now, it looks roughly like this: pic taken from the net
  10. lol! I just realized that your tv is showing Avatar! Hahaha......
  11. I spent around 3 months talking to IDs and contractors before i finally confirmed too. Jia you!
  12. Hi guys, need to check on something. I want to change the lock on my main door but my contractor said that i can only change with another lock of the exact same design. If not, the new lock cannot fit into the hole for the previous lock. Does anyone have experience with this? I don't want to use the old lock design as it is the kind where there is a handle on the outside, meaning other people can open the door from the outside of the house if the door is not locked.. Hope to get some advice on this, thks!
  13. hi, think you should only pay the next 40% when the carpentry is up. Doing so before it is done would be a huge risk as things do go wrong with carpentry...
  14. Think you don't need to spend the $$ to advertiste in papers, just advertiste online and i'm sure you will still get many responses.
  15. 7000 bucks seems a bit ex for kitchen cabinet... You can try to negotiate with the company, tell them that they were the one who forgot to put it in... Or you can try to go for suspended cabinets, they look quite nice and you don't need a base for them. Anyway, $450 is quite ex! Think a contactor will charge around $200 - $300...
  16. Haha, glad that you liked google sketchup. Your drawings look great. I spent a lot of time on my own drawings as well, really liked the 3D warehouse with so much stuffs that we can add!
  17. Yup, think that was the model that i saw. Where did you get it at that price? Do you guys know if there are any concerns about the tempered glass cracking due to the heat? Electrolux only has 1 year warrently as compared to some like Techno that offers lifetime warrently... If the glass cracked then very jialat right? Will have to hunt for a hob with the same size to replace the whole hob.
  18. The memory form will give very good support but might be a bit hot. That is why there is a latex layer to keep the bed cool. My wife and i tried the royal nova mattress and it was very comfy, so we got it on impulse as there was a good discount due to anniversary sale. But now think it is still a bit out of our budget, so we are willing to let go of it. See my signature for more details, the mattress is still brand new as it has not been delivered yet.
  19. I'm thinking of getting a 2 burner tempered electrolux glass hob. The price is $279 from Harvey Norman, quite cheap compared to the other brands. Heard from the sales person that electrolux is more known for other electrical appliances... But still quite tempted by the price. Any review on electrolux hob? Don't think we will be doing heavy cooking.
  20. good idea to have the bifold door behind the kerb! Will see if i can do that. thks!
  21. Can get 1 piece toilet bowl from GR link at this price also, just bought one from them today. Good thing is that they have 4 or 5 models to choose from. Ossify, do you know if there will be any problem with using top-hung bifold doors? Heard that the door will be shaky and water might splash out at the bottom...
