FINALLY! The renovation plans have started moving along. Met with Uncle S yesterday, he doesn't normally do HDB renovations, but because our family knows him very well, he agreed to do mine. hehe. Showed him what I planned to do with the house, I specially created a file for him with all my 3D sketches from Google Sketchup and pictures I took from the Internet and magazines, and he said, 'No problem!' This Saturday, he'll be meeting us at the flat to see the site and once he comes back from his trip later this month, it's going to be 'GO GO GO!!!!' Yes, I am indeed super duper excited. The house has been empty for 4 mths after all, the neighbours sure all think we abandon the place liao. Now I finally got things to post in this t-blog alr, shall be starting to source for laminates, tiles, sanitary ware etc etc. And still need to plan cupboard & kitchen cabinet internal layout. Any fellow t-bloggers who did their own internal layout can share share their ideas? I'll post up the 3D sketches after Saturday once we've met with Uncle S. HOORAY!

nice designs guess u're hiring a contractor instead since u alr have ur own designs? maybe you can consider bubble chair / egg chair / ball chair for the cosy corner.

hihi, thought u might wanna take a look at this thread for a list of places to go to for victorian/french furniture. http://www.renotalk.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=27217 i also saw that same home done up by Earnest Interiors, its the one with the gorgeous glass walk-in-wardrobe, boutique style right? i remember Ciseern did a victorian style showroom titled 'joanne peh's dream home', but i heard they're very expensive. you can see in their website under Portfolio > Celebrity Showflats. i think another ID, Loyd also can design wat you want. http://loydpek.blogspot.com/2008/04/latest...rvale-link.html just a note, i don't know if their service is good or not, cos didn't approach them for quotes. hope this helps!

ya man. thanks for the recommendation! managed to find furniture which are much more closer to those i want, as compared to the boxy generic furniture other programs have.
-
oops, didn't see that. paiseh. thanks~

welcome~ wah, so lucky, queue no. 1!! hehe. your flat also looks really spacious. modern victorian is a very nice look, must know how to mix and match the furniture. i'm going for a somewhat similar feel too. good luck finding an ID.

i saw this once and was quite interested in it. Is there a limit to the number of sockets you can use on one track? Mind sharing how much was the setup for the track in the living room? Thanks!
-
thanks!! the problem with doing my own designs would be too many ideas. hahaha
-
didn't post up the last few pics as the concept and design just keep changing!! how do you guys even manage to finally settle on a design for the rooms? on the bright side, decided to engage my dad's friend to do the reno, will only be able to start discussing after CNY as he has a few projects to finish up. i guess march?? and adding to the fact that i have my overseas bridal photoshoot the same month, it sure is going to be a stressful month. *praying hard that all goes well!!*

Entertainment room - for watching movies, playing the playstation & Wii~ Study room - getting loose furniture for the tables, so that it can be converted into a kids room in future forgot to save into thumbdrive.. will upload pics of the MBR / Wardrobe area & MBR Bathroom tomorrow
-
continuing on... the kitchen - exploring the idea of having a L-shaped kitchen counter, but not sure if it is too narrow towards the yard area. and the common toilet - keeping this very basic and simple as i doubt it'll be in use much, except for our guests.

Loving Google SketchUp. I've turned this... into this!

Welcome! sold for $434K? Woah, prices are really going up a lot now! Anyways, just to share, I went to a few IDs also, and Ideal House @ Upp Serangoon seems like one of the affordable ones, no harm contacting them? The guy I liaised with took a week to get back to us with a detailed breakdown quote, along with layout design. However, not making any decision right now cos we're re-looking at our budget. Oh ya, the aircons, sanitaryware, cooker hob/hood etc are not included in their quotes. Good luck with finding an ID/contractor and with the reno!

welcome and congrats on ur new home!! i also went to look at some flats in admiralty, but eventually settled elsewhere. looking forward to more pics!!

i gave up on punch professional home design. the materials and furniture choices are just too limited. switched to Google SketchUp and based on our latest layout, did up the flat in 3D! It's still Work In Progress, I spent a while to figure out the programme. It's actually rather addictive to play with, gonna head home tonight to add in the furniture. This programme is so much better with the choices of materials/components/furniture/decor etc. Windows not accurate cos I didn't measure their length back at the house, and I haven't added in the sliding door between the MBR and Study. Lots more to do. Went to the Gain City Expo Sale and Modern Living Fair at Expo over the weekend. The Samsung 42" LED TV was going cheap, the LG 42" LED TV was going even cheaper and they're throwing in a free 32" Full HD TV. But we didn't buy in the end, cos the hubby said that prices were the same as last year's Comex, so there's no hurry, especially since we have no storage space now. Hope it won't be a decision we'll regret. Saw some furniture at the fair, love some of the L-shaped sofas, but we didn't commit to any purchase, cos this is the first time we've started looking at furniture and we haven't even finalised the plan. The only good thing we got there was viewing the BestView windows in person. It seems affordable and we're going to use that for the living room windows.

ehhh weird, it auto change to renotalk.com... it is actually from s t u d i o 1 9 6 1's website i just tried posting up pics from their site, also cannot work. i emailed them for the price, it's S$1,499 for the ipod egg chair with built in speakers. (and yes, they customise colours!!) the hubby is pretty excited about it, think he's imagining himself sitting inside and playing his PC games/PS3. anybody bought from this shop before? Are they reliable?? Cos it seems they don't have a physical shopfront. remove the '*' ballchair - www.studio*1961.com.sg/ballchairs.htm ipod egg chair - www.studio*1961.com.sg/ipodeggchair.htm
