  1. hehe, how was ur wedding dinner like? r u serious??? where's urs???? mine's at hyatt, one of the smaller rooms. sekali u also same place. hahaha paiseh paiseh, no laaa. i'm still maid/servant to many dogs, u noe the nightly massages, the whining for food. hahaha cool, maybe when i move there i'll check them out. i didn't know got phoon huat there! i not sure abt upper cabinet leh, but my mum in law uses her oven very often and her upp cabinet no problem. as for the plug, i asked my electrician to drill a hole through upper cabinet, pull the cable through, plug into a switch. just nice i going over tonight, i try to take picture to show u.
  2. me i'm the eldest child of the eldest child of my grandma. my dad is like no.1 importance in his family, so its hard for me to not have wedding dinner, plus he is towkay, so his company ppl aka my colleagues have to be invited. but i'm ok with it la, take it as a once in a lifetime celebration lor. i already had a very quiet ROM with just his immediate family and mine at the ROM itself. hihi, thanks! i'll check with the uncle who hired the carpenter, cos i dun have the carpenter's number. u intend to do the entire kitchen or just a tall cabinet. me staying on the other side of yew tee, where cck crescent is. there are cooking & baking classes? where? yayaya i hear of such stories before. i hear ppl receive empty angpow also, think was my sis-in-law. i booked my banquet last september, but this yr when they suddenly want to have more tables than maximum capacity, i tried calling all the major hotels, and they were all fully booked. hehe, i leave that to my parents, i dunwan to get involved man... u noe la, sure got internal conflicts like this aunt cannot sit with tt aunt, this person must sit here, sit there. i once read an advice saying "there're 4 corners in a usual ballroom, make use of them!"
  3. thanks! haha, i hope so lor, any profit will offset my reno costs. honeymoon is delayed until 1 yr later, save more, then can buy more! haiyo, i more stressed abt seating plans and balancing demands/questions/madness all around.
  4. haha, ya, i'm hoping to at least break even. my big day is 13 Nov, you?? cap at 40k including ur furniture/sanitaryware?
  5. CONGRATULATIONS!!!!! rest more, dun carry heavy stuff! dun stress urself too, leave the worrying to ur hubby. :D
  6. i remember HDB officer got print a piece of paper abt fire insurance validity date leh. dunno u got or not. my house is actually still covered for another 3 years, so i no need buy. maybe if u dun have the paper, can call HDB to check.
  7. err $69.95. i was holding it very tightly and telling hubby "I really really really want this." hahaha, so he bo bian take out his wallet and buy for me. reno only. yup. but my wood flooring alone is around 10k liao. den i did a lot a lot of carpentry, some of the laminates i chose are rather pricey. so a bit here a bit there, tt's y the price is as such.
  8. hmm, wondering, cannot DIY with a wooden block and cut slits for knives?
  9. yippee.. bought this yesterday from Robinsons! Prepara Chef's Center - cookbook holder. it has a protective plastic cover over the cookbook, 360 swivel lazy susan base, pull out conversion chart!
  10. credit card points hor, redemption also very stingy one... i spend one whole year, only can exchange a $70 isetan voucher. me not big spender. hahaha
  11. Final reno bill in.... aircon, hacking/disposal, electrical, gate, doors, glass, tiles, paint, granite top (blah blah blah), flooring, plumbing, ceiling, carpentry, tiling, labour, transport etc etc etc etc etc... around $60k. Uncle S just went through a very detailed breakdown with me. I was actually prepared for a higher amount, but still, please excuse me while i go faint in a corner of my office. First time in my life I see such a big bill, of course the next one would be when I check out of the hotel after the wedding banquet.
  12. ya, my hubby was like SUE 3M!!!!! hahahaha nvm la, my mum forgave me, and we're on the lookout for a similar clock. phew, but still heartache. ummm.. so did u manage to impress any girls? hehehe. guitar not easy leh, maybe u can show off ur skills at ur open house if u have one.
  13. hahahahaha, must always aim high ma!!
  14. ya, very expensive few pieces of paper. ehh, conservancy fees! quickly go apply giro, or else every month got to go down the office and pay and they like to send reminder letters once u're late, waste postage fees! and get a temporary lock for ur gates so that the ex-owners cannot access the house anymore.
  15. ur daybed will be there when they start hacking? best to wrap more protective layers around the legs to prevent any scratching!
  16. welcome to RT! a bit curious.. noticed ur MBR has a small little room space with a door opening, what's that?
  17. Bought mine from one of those lock shops in IMM. The brand I bought is Prosafe. I replaced the key-cylinder with a Mul-T lock set. Think the shop name is D&L Design.
  18. wah, ur house looks really really good! very envious of ur pantry area. lotsa space to store things. and the colour sprayed glass looks very nice for ur living room. can't wait to see how it'll look like with furniture in!
  19. the original ones can buy where huh? until now i still haven't see. or is it cos i only been going to neighbourhood shops and sheng siong. i haven't tried yet, but planning to. err, see if i can reach the ceiling or not, if cannot, then it becomes the hubby's job.
  20. haha, cos mine more like DIY reno, tt's y no cleaning included. i go buy the $1 pack from Sheng Siong. Daiso also got. so still alright la. hehe. its good also for picking up hair & in future, my doggies' fur. think next time i'll have a cupboard full of magic wipe refills.
  21. wooo... good to know its going well! 28 july only 16 days away. hehe. first round of cleaning, must go get the magic wiper, its like my favourite tool now, i use the wet & dry wipes and go up & down the walls to remove dust. hehehe, like that i no need climb stools to clean the top areas.
  22. ok, thank you. keeping my fingers crossed, cos i really do love this clock! :)
  23. i once read this email abt how a dog and cat thinks. Dog: wow, this human feeds me, bathes me, cuddles me, he/she must be God. Cat: this human feeds me, bathes me, cuddles me, I must be God. but yea, i watched my puppy jump up and down, the endless hyperness made me giddy, then still trying to toilet-train. but hor, once he stop and give me puppy eye face, i melted alr.
