  1. Hi Sengkangians! Sengkang_newbie, similar to you, I just purchased a 5i flat in Anchorvale And I'm collecting my keys mid Oct too! Just wanted to say hi.
  2. I'm looking for a tree-design hat and coat stand that looks like this. Anyone seen it around in the shops you have visited?
  3. Hi guys I just bought a resale, about 7 yrs old. Would like to keep existing fittings intact if possible, so as not to overspend. The rainshower head is made chrome, and it's covered with this tarnish that looks white in colour. You know, how some old taps and stainless steel products look like. No brown stains (rust), just this white-ish dirt. How do I clean this? Any cleaning tips from you guys? Thanks!
  4. Hi guys May I know where this PJ (where Morning sinks are found) and where Spazio is?
  5. Is that an ok-sized bathtub, easy to find in shops? Or is it too cramped?
  6. Mostly myself lah. Perhaps once every two weeks, a helper might come by, but that's about it. So with normal moisture, what do you think about the material bathroom furniture should be made of?
  7. Is it possible to add a bathtub in the master bedroom toilet in a 5-room HDB flat? I bought a resale flat and am about to do reno. There's an existing shower and kerb. Keeping the tiles, not doing any hacking. Hopefully I don't need to shift the basin either. Here's the floorplan - do you guys think it's workable, can fit? How much do you think it will cost? Do I need to hack any tiles or pay for any additional work to install a bathtub on my existing shower area + kerb?
  8. Should I get basin cabinets made of wood/synthetic material? Most of the bathroom cabinets (below the basin) are made of wood, or some synthetic material. Thing is, in my fiance's previous home, he had basin cabinets that started rotting and smelling and warping after about 5-6 years because of the moisture in the bathroom. So now we're getting our own apartment, we're wondering whether we should get the normal wood or synthetic one (more affordable), or a stainless steel one. There are 'waterproof' materials for basin cabinets, right? Are they really waterproof?
  9. Wow, I didn't know about this additional storage charge after 3 days. It's definitely an inconvenience to you... and a pretty ugly surprise. How much more do you have to fork out for storage charges? Thanks for the heads up, too. But understandably, Ikea has always been a sort of cash-and-carry sort of place, and in fact this is one of the reasons costs are kept low - and savings are passed on to the consumer.
  10. Anyone knows where I can find these hanging lamps? This one is by Tord Boontje, called Garland. Can only find on websites overseas: No idea which designer or the name of this lamp, but I'm looking for it: If you've seen this around somewhere, pls point me in that direction! Thanks.
  11. Sam, do you mean two months? I'm thinking of getting my sofa from Sal Sal.
  12. I'm looking for an affordable floor lamp chandelier in black. Saw one in Poseidon Furnishing, but it's too expensive. Anyone know where i can find a cheaper one?
  13. B2B, I've heard the same about Melandas from a furnitre industry insider. It's really too bad for Melandas, because they fronted new concepts and were established - they even had a boutique in Paragon, too. Yes, don't think it's the same manufacturing quality, too. But to be fair, so much of the sofas/furniture in Singapore is made in China. There are different grades, even if made in China. It's such a manufacturing hub. Lorenzo and HTL are doing well in the stock market, huh. Hope you invested in them, then!
  14. In leather only? Then probably that's not for me. But I've heard good things about HTL. Thanks anyway!
  15. Yeah, I've visited their store. Intend to get my coffee table from them. The lady in there is very helpful, and friendly too.
  16. Could you pls give the address of their warehouse? Any contact number as well? pjpolymer, how much did you pay for your HTL sofas? i'm looking for an affordable 3-seater in fabric.
  17. So, hmm, the quality will be different now? I checked during their warehouse sale over the weekend. They said their fabrics and manufacturing's done in China. Frame of the sofas utilise plywood. And only 1 year warranty. So B2B, you're saying that it's only the Melandas name that's being used, but the products are different now?
  18. Yeah, when i tried their sofa they use just high density foam, not pocketed springs. So the sofa you have is pretty durable. Is the frame/structure made of plywood, too? That's what the sales asst told me about the Melandas sofa i was trying out, that it's made of plywood.
  19. Problem is, S&C cannot try these sofas as they only have catalogues to show. They have only a small shopfront, so cannot try and see if the sofa is comfortable etc., which is quite important for me.
  20. Just wondering - do sofas bought directly from factories still have warranty? Is it difficult to exercise warranty terms if something goes wrong with the item?
