@ May dream1: I'm so sorry! How in the world did I miss you?! Your t-Blog is very rich . In the last 7 weeks, I have been screening suppliers for the usual reno/furnishing stuff - I shall share my draft list in a later post. I have decided to engage a contractor to do the reno instead of an ID since the ones I spoke to hadn’t added value. After umpteen revisions, I think I have arrived at something feasible. I will show this to the contractor tomorrow.

I'm pleasantly surprised to see some visitors here! Hello everyone! Thank you for your warm welcome & suggestions @ albertchng: That's what I had in mind too. U know so much about cement screed! Wow.. @ potatoes & Confidential: This is a "premium" unit - low floor, along corridor, face another block/playground. @ Terencetcw: I had a go at floorplanner.com. No good. It doesn't do my bidding. I shall give it 1 more try Visited "Luxury Living 2012" at Expo Hall 6 last weekend. I had wanted to hear what the IDs would propose. Instead, I was the one proposing. Is that how it's supposed to be? Well, let's see how it goes..
  3. Hi steelz, I like the laminate flooring that you installed! I hope you can tell me more about it... What's the brand & color code? Is it water resistant, i.e. can water seep thru gaps? Did you install "sound dampener"? Is there a hollow sound when you walk on it? I like your headboard too! Was it $450? Thanks! Cheers.
  4. I’ve skimmed through Renotalk forum and find it to be a great avenue for bouncing off ideas, exchanging of reno tips/experience & maybe making new friends. I hope to achieve this through my t-blog. Hopefully some forumers/reno gurus would drop by . This is a 3A HDB unit in Kallang/Whampoa area. I will be moving in with my pet… the one that meows. Although I won’t get the keys until late Mar, I have begun to think about space planning. I’m tossed between industrial and rustic theme. But I’m sure I want an island kitchen. Kicking off the t-blog is the floor plan. The recess area between the living room and the common bedroom comes with the unit. Floor Plan bmp by bloomreno, on Flickr
  5. Hi EmptyDivided, What's the model of your Electrolux? Is your drum inclined? I'm thinking of getting Vapur Time Manager (EWF14821) or ICON (EWN14991). Does Electrolux comes with load sensing and foam detection function?
  6. Hi S4Room, I enjoy reading the update! The outcome is really good! Can I know what's the color used for your dinning area? It looks brown but showed up differently under different lighting.
  7. Hi jackychun, can i ask how much is the main door + installation? Is it fire retarding kind? Thanks.
  8. hi decruz, thks for posting & sharing info with the rest of us! They're really good reference. I'm out of sg most of the time this quarter. Don't even have time to supervise the contractor, not to mention doing window shopping down jln bersah/balestier. i rely heavily on the information in this forum. Will check out spazio & lighting.com.sg this sun. And maybe goodrich also if i hav time. thank u so much!!! p.s. any advise for me is greatly appreciated
  9. Hi! Where did u get your dining table. Saw a similar one in Ikea. How much did u pay for it? Thanks.
  10. Hi, could u tell me where u get the rain showers (master & common toilet) from? How much are these? They look so cool! Wld like to get these for my new house. Also, which brand of water heater r u using? What's the capacity? Is it serving all the toilets? Many thanks!
  11. I've got this city gas pipe in the house. I figure that using LPG is less troublesome (no need to extend pipe, alteration to cabinet, unsightly piping, etc) so wld like to remove the pipe. City gas charges $50. Contractor says no connection = no gas, so ok to remove. Checked with city gas, operator says contractor can remove. Checked HDB renovation guide, it say no. Does anyone know anything?
  12. I have the impression that usually, we have to get the boxes & face plates ourselves, and the prices quoted by electricians do not include the boxes & face plates. Is this true? If the prices quoted are inclusive of these items, would it make it more reasonable?
  13. Hi, my electrician quoted me the following. Can I still bargain? 13 Amp Double = $60 15 Amp = $90 Water heater = $90 SCV = $110 Telephone = $50 Board = $350
