It is stainless steel with 12mm temper glass. BTW, the staircase quote was supposedly too low. That was what my contractor said. He said he calculate too short length but he never changed it after we started. my contractor is Kenneth from SKL construction. http://dir.bca.gov.sg/bca/CompanyDetail.as...mp;ID=52930376X He does all the wetworks but the design/woodwork is done by by his sister, Jenn (www.dejenn.com). I got to know him through Jenn who did the reno for my first house 5 years back. A frank assessment of the worksmanship. Woodwork is good and we enjoyed working with Jenn. The tiling is good for marble and toilet wall tiles. the tiler is very detailed and meticulous. But I thought the marble polishing was so-so. There are still some foggy patches which is visible at certain angles. Wooden flooring is not good, I thought that subcon did not take pride in his work. The staircase subcon boss is quite on and comes and check quite a few times the quality of his workers work so not too bad.

The bedroom floorings are teak timber strips but I am beginning to regret as gaps/cracks are beginning to show between the strips. I am not sure if I should went for laminates instead. There are no acoustic treatment done for the HT. I am thinking of doing something about the front three speakers set in the false wall. now it is just the audessey EQ

I think it was around 12k for the railings and 9k for the floor. + probably some more for hacking...

Thanks for your comments ya the new staircase does fit the new design better but redoing staircase is very expensive. In the end we changed almost every single thing, all the floors, cabinets, roof, etc. Sometimes I wonder if it is worth the money. We could have moved in with 1/2 the cost of what we spent. At least we treat our home very gently. Our first home looks new even after 5 years. Now we are just looking for decorating stuff, like paintings and stuff to make the toilets look better.

thanks. The glass room is newly made. Previously it was just a balcony overlooking the living room. As we cannot live without air con, we decided to box it up so we can air con the small place. Now it is quite useful as a TV room for my wife. Small place so easy to aircon.

Exterior did not do much so no pics was taken. One oven is steam oven and the other is conventional. My wife thought it looks nice with 2 ovens although she cannot bake...

Can I check with you how big is your wooden floor strips? Are you happy with the wooden flooring workmanship?

I feel buying furniture instead of built in ones is the harder path to take. You really must have a sense of how it will look when everything is combined together before you buy it. But I think if done well, the end look will be better as furniture you can buy is usually "higher quality" and better finished than the usual contractor made furniture. The trick is makng them look nice together cohesively. Yup, one of the things I disliked about my current reno is how big and heavy the overhang cabinet was in my HT room. It did not look so big in the picture.... but cannot change once it is up. -
thats all the pics I have

Spare room. We combined the orginal yard into the spare ground floor room. This is the only layout change we made to the whole house. This is the room we used the most often as it has my computer and our day bed. before after
-
Dining. We hacked the wall between the kitchen and dining and did an open concept kitchen before after
-
Living room. We had some trouble looking for a nice place to put our Kuanyin as it needed to face the door. In the end we made a divider for it. The sofa set and coffee table are the only few "old" stuff we moved from our previous place. We really liked the sofa set which is quite durable and is around 5 years old. before after

Childrens room toilet. We swopped the position of the vanity and shower because we liked the vanity facing the toilet door. But the causes a problem for the shower screen door which may be blocked by the toilet bowl. In the end we combined the shower area with the toilet bowl. before after
-
Children room. We hacked away the old cabinet and added a loft bed. We did not like the normal double decker style as I find sleeping on the lower deck very oppressive. I think this arrangement is better for the person sleeping below. And the bed on top is currently a "guest" bed since we only have one kid. before after

yup. We decided from day one to used only one toilet so the design for the MBR toilet focused on look rather than useability. What to do, we don't have a domestic helper. really no time to clean house and take care of 2 year old girl.

posted the wrong pic, missed out one floor. Fixed the link. We have three bedrooms upstairs. The living room is double height.

done. posted in the first post.

staircase. I wanted to keep the old staircase as I think it was probably quite good with all the big wooden pillars and they actually have wood covering all over the place. It was probably quite expensive when it was originally done. And redoing the staircase was expensive. But my wife hated the old staircase so we changed it. The new staircase is more modern look with much less wood covering. before after

I like your backyard. Do you have a contact for doing something similar? We wanted to do something like this but ran out of budget at the end so that item was cut out. We were thinking of doing it later on as it is outdoors so hopefully not too messy...

nope. The design for this toilet was tough because the toilet bowl cannot move as we do not want to do coring to shift the sewage. And there wasn't many bathtubs left because we were looking at ex-stock as we did not have time to place a new order for bathtubs. In the end it was either the double vanity OR the shower area. We chose the double vanity as this toilet is more for "display" and we will not be using it. The double vanity helps to make the MBR looks even bigger. In fact we only use the ground floor toilet in the whole house

I am looking for nicer plants. I thought the plants are too small after we brought them back. Or maybe change to something else. My wife says they are fine but I don't like them. Anyway as I said I liked your toilets much better I thought ours very clinical. We did not had an ID so we were afraid to try too radical a design. So we went for the "simple" way out. White/black tiles and more space so it is easier to look nice. The "TV" is a projection screen and is 120" diagonal. 2.35:1 format.

The pics are all taken by my ID for advertising purposes so it was professionally done with some digital edits. we added the walk in wardrobe into the toilet... MBR. Some advise. The first design of the bed feature wall has a plain laminated wall with a picture in it. I got the contractor to do up the wall with design so I don't need to hang a picture there. Somehow I feel insecure with a painting over my head every night. And best of all it was done with no additional cost Before After The double vanity used to be a walk in wardrobe

original condition is not too bad as the development is around 12 years old. but still quite old and aged as it was rented out for some years.
