  2. thanks for all the sugegstions. I havs a small budget thus looking at alternatives 1) floor tiles coating - got the price fr a road show fr Xtoria Marketing @Geylang East Ave 3 2 toilets floors = $1100 2 toilets + kitchen = $1800 no hacking, 1 day job. No hacking 2) Possible to overlay tiles without hacking? 3) LF, buy material and DIY It will be great if someone can share photos that LF is okay in the kitchen! thanks again for al the info. i got from all the forumers....
  3. hi if you still hv the freelance contact please pm me. thanks so much!
  4. thanks so much... but i don't think i m ready to do so... haha
  5. to be fair to both sexes, why must be husband leh? why not the wife fool around? anyway, IMHO having a open walk in wardrobes means you will have a very hard time keeping all your stuff neat and tidy. Imagine those socks, bras, etc all over the places... unless u have a maid than it is difference story la. so do consider not just feng shui but the practicality of it too..
  6. hi just to ride on this topic, i hv some questions abt this laminated floor; 1) has anyone done this on their kietchen floor? Can the LF last the rough environment? 2) Due to limited budget, is considering LF (buy material and DIY) vs coating (over existing tiles floor) and vs overlay another layer of tiles. 3) How about those by IKEA? ok or not? anyone has experience to share please.... thanks so much!
  7. why not use a nice thick curtains? you can choose when to have sunlight and when not to.... IMHO
  8. no worry.. before i commit to buy this house, i have been going around viewing fr a while. got houses with other orientation but ended up with this unit haha.. so be it lo... fate la..... just have to work harder

  12. thanks for the insider knowledge sharing!!! ya i think i will get a tempered glass, and maybe painted it myself on the back haha... or maybe get s stainless steel sheet with a mirror finish! i think tat works for my dull dull kitchen!
  13. 450 is quite ex... actually i read somewhere in the forum that using a stianless steel sheet will do also. i already found a glass shop near my workplace and check the price with him later.. cheers!
  14. hi, anyway to counter the problem of kitchen in NW direction? thanks so much!
  15. than we all have attached bathroom in our master bedroom also consider 'fang zhong fang'?? haha if like tat all of us kena la....
  16. hi felix, if my stove (and of course the kitchen) in NW direction, than how? What can I do?? thanks fr sharing......
  17. BINGO.... and juz my 2 cents worth, below are 2 more points to note.. 1. stove must be away from the wash basin, coz " shui huo bu xiang rong" (fire and water will crash) 2. if ur stove is opposite toilet door, please close the toilet door at all time, obvious reason right? haha cheers!
  18. hi googocat, thanks so much for sharing ur nice kitchen well, i will still give it a try b4 i totally forget at this idea ..... (maybe on some surface rather than on the real door haha) $90 per door is really out of my budget as i got so many doors! and looks like mine are of a darker gray colour orange back splash looks like a good idea. Where do i get it and what is the cost like? thanks again
  19. hi hi u sounds very technical leh, are u in this line? thanks fr the advice! u have tried DIY urself and encountered problem? don mind tell me what is an ABS trimming? i think changing all the doors maybe too costly for me... i think the key in getting the laminate last long long time is the 'preparation phase'. really need to clean the surface and remove all grease... i hv not tried b4 but maybe it is hard to acheive... thanks!
  20. thanks for the idea.. but budget is a contraints.. haha i try to save as much possible by doing DIY whatever i can manage. well, laminte to a brighter glossy colour surely is one of the way. Putting lighting can work too but must watch out the PUB bill later.. btw, u hv done this b4? where to get cheap laminate? thanks
  21. see my simple simple plan...... floor colour is close to the actual one but no $$$ to change la..
