  1. Thanks to all the well wishes. The current owner loves miniature schnauzer, owns 1 of it.
  2. It has been a real tiring process trying to select my renovator. My priority is as follows:- 1. Responsible and Reliable Contractor 2. Good Price/Value 3. Good Workmanship Though there are some recommended here that meets some of these priorities, I have selected and confirmed today to have ID Note, Henry, to work on my reno. To me, Henry is very easy to talk to, also very practical person. If he cant do it, he will tell me in advance, when he say he giving my a quote, I do received it on time. So far the discussion with him and Michael is pretty good, can click. Also impt is their price is one of the best, not the lowest but very detail, no hidden cost like some other companies that quoted me. Hoping that my selection is correct and no major hiccups in the path ahead. If nothing goes wrong, I plan to have my reno starts in end Jan, hopefully hack and lay some tiles, break up for CNY holidays and start again on the rest of the work to complete by end Mar. Will post more pics when the reno starts.
  3. X2 to this. I have been reading this forum for ID/Contractor info and based on forumers feedback, definitely Tau is one of my shortlist esp when I stay in Tampines area. My frequent calls to Kelvin being unanswered probably because of his busy schedule, make appt to go down to his office 15/10, took a day leave to do that and he fly me aeroplane and got attended by another person, Thomas, who promise me a quote within the weekend but it has been 2 mths now, no single quote from Tau even after at 6 sms to kelvin to remind him about the quotation, each time he promises to get back to me but NEVER. Having seen the horrible workmanship in photos here really make me feel good that he did not respond to my quote, otherwise I may have to go thru the agony of YuenYuen here which I know is painful, spend money yet get such a job. I think what Kelvin or Tau should do is not to over commit to too many jobs at one time, losing focus. In another words, dont eat more than you can stomach. In the long term, words get around and it will do more harm to their business. To those who have got a good reno job from Tau in the past, you should view any negative feedback as impt as praises Tau have got here. Only with negative comments from their customers, they will be able to improve. However, if Tau or the supporters here continue to slam anyone here who do not give good comments, you are actually doing more harm to Tau. My 2 cents only.
  4. From your pics, it seems the whole wardrobe is slanted very badly, not sure if it is due to camera distortion but if the actual wardrobe is really so tilted, I cant accept it either.
  5. Search and found this old thread on Aerogaz Hob, anyone here using it now, any comments pls. Due to HDB 13amp plug limitation, I can only narrow down to Aerogaz and Taiyo as follows:- http://www.aerogaz.com/ag_product_details....Hob&vtype=1 http://www.courts.com.sg/Products/CourtsSt...8Courts%29.aspx Those Brandt or Borsch need 30amp at least and moreover it is beyond my budget. Any feedback appreciated, thanks
  6. Can I check, any potential customer here tried to get Kelvin successfully over these few weeks. I went down to their shop in 15th Oct with appt made with Kelvin but he couldnt make it, so I met up with Thomas (his bro?). After sharing with him my layout plan and the stuff that I would like to do, he said he will get Kelvin to get back to me the quote by that weekend. After 6 sms and replies that he will get me the quote until today, I have yet to see any thing done. Is he that difficult to meet? I did sms him if he is too busy to take up my reno, just let me know but he replied OK OK will get back to me but never. Almost 2 mths and no sound no sight, my last sms today dont even have a reply, pretty disappointed. Anyone in the same situation as me or am I alone here?
  7. Hi All, Just an update, been thru my 1st appt today and completion scheduled to be on 19th Jan 2010. Guess will be busy focusing on selecting my contractor from now till then. As timing is close to CNY, will probably start my reno immediately after the CNY holidays. Wish me luck.
  8. Wywy, congrats on the start of the reno process, Tampines is a nice convenient estate, almost everything is available in the central malls, good choice.
  9. Thanks to all the wishes for my new place, I must say renovating process is really tiring and painful. From the selection of contractor, materials, furnishing, sanitary wares... omg, Hope my process will be shun shun li li and no major hiccups will be good.
  10. JanD, that's one of the reason why I bought this place. Coupled with the convenient location with MRT and eateries.
  11. Haha, replied your pm, I missed the boat on the one that you viewed.
  12. Opps, edited. Error after I move my pics around to albums in photobucket. Thanks
  13. Thanks Ossify, looking at your 1st and 2nd appt dates, I est I should get my 2nd appt right in the middle of Jan, maybe I can squeeze in all the hacking and wetworks before CNY and have the balance done after CNY to save some time.
  14. Some photos of the original condition taken when we signed the OTP The Living Area The Kitchen The MBR
  15. Hi Everyone, I have been reading this forum, soaking tons of info that everyone here contribute ever since I signed my OTP in Sep 09 to get this HDB 5rm in Shunfu. 1st Appt is scheduled on 1st Dec and I est my 2nd appt will be around mid Jan or so. Have been spending almost every weekend looking at reno stuff and also trying very hard to get quotes from all the good contractors recommended by friends here. I am leaning to engage a contractor and not an ID as my reno is rather simple type. Will try to update and post more photos upon getting my keys in Jan 2010, meantime here is my floorplan. Initial plan is to 1. Redo both toilets and kitchen, meaning everything to go. Reposition common toilet door to enable me to fix a glass shower screen there as well as the MBR 2. Laminate for my bedrooms and probably Living/Dining area as well. 3. Level up the balcony to make the living room more spacious 4. Rewiring whole house 5. Replaster whole house wall and ceiling 6. Carpentry works for wardrobe in all bedrooms Any suggestion welcome as I plan to confirm the contractor in Dec, probably would not rush for CNY Handover as it is almost impossible. Thanks
  16. Hi, while I as told the period between the 1st and 2nd Appt for HDB purchase is around 5 to 8 weeks, I would like to know from anyone here who have gone thru their 1st appt recently, whats the 2nd appt period? Kindly advise pls Thanks
  17. Can someone pls PM me Jason contact too? I email him the request for quotation template found in his blog but no reply so far. http://ubreno.blogspot.com/ Hope this Jason in the blog is the same Jason we are talking about here. Many Thanks
  18. I guess it all depends on how flat is your wall. Without wood probably cheaper but may not necessary give you the best mirror "look" esp if there are several pcs of mirror that is mounted side by side.
  19. Hi, Anyone have any experience installing or use the 1 Key Multiple lock system for HDB Iron Gate, Wooden Main Door and Letterbox? 21. I am interested in a HUDC ShunFu right now and I heard privatization is in progress, anyone know the cost per household for this process? Is there any other cost we can expect after our purchase
  22. Anyone can help me.
