Eric, the work was stopped for the CNY holidays and just resume this week. So far only the tiles are done and this week suppose to install windows, plaster and followed by electricals, aircon etc. Will post some pics after this week when the place is more clean up. Michael is confident that the HO can be by end mar.

Thats good, at least they willing to rectify their silly mistake.

Hi Kruncho, whats the latest on your reno? electricals, fales ceiling or light holder all up before they shutdown for CNY? Did you manage to solve the dryer installation problem with Citygas?
-
Can the dryer be shifted by your contractor or must it be done by citygas? I can imagine how you feel, some ppl just install without thinking.
-
No space for your washer if it is top loading??
-
Yeah, thanks for the reassurance, will get my contractor to apply sealant too.

Hi, My walls are to be replastered throughout, do you think it is a must or neccessary to have my walls painted with a sealant before painting the normal color paint? My contractor say it is not necessary but I felt a newly plastered wall may not absorb the paint well and may peel shortly. Any advise? Thanks

I am also quoted the same amount to shift the main door but another 500 to hack the orig frame and install a temp frame in order to shift the metal gate.

Almost a week after my reno started, few days back, drop over to check it out and saw this truck full of our debris: When we went up our place, we noticed the wall at the entrance foyer was gone - good, meaning the 2nd HDB approval is OK New toilet entrance And as we were leaving, saw this lorry unloading cement, pipe, hollow blocks for us We should be able to get most of our tiles laid before CNY holidays according to Michael, crossing our fingers.

We went down to SBH to select our tiles today. The experience of tile selection is really hardwork. 1st when we reached there, we were more or less settled on some tiles and designs, then as we see more and more (and also learn more and more), the real headache starts. We decided to focus on each area, start off with Living/DIning, kitchen, Common toilet then master toilet. Some we like but low in stock, so we have to settle for 2nd best. Anyway, after 3 solid hours of staring at all sorts of tiles, we have decided on all the selections, took samples back and hopefully we will still like it after the next few weeks before we confirm the order. Anyone here have such similar experiences? We are glad its over (until we change our mind). Haha

Blue_ape, dont feel too angry, it is better for him to reject you rather then fail you in the middle of reno. Suggest you tell him your reno dates and if he feel he can do it, I am sure he will commit to you. I was told by him that the madness rush in both our IRs in Marina and Sentosa, they are paying high price to get such "skill" workers to complete their projects. So contractors like Henry and others may have a more difficult time getting workers in the next few mths.
