Where To Buy Reasonable Iron Rack For My Store Room?
mkl22 replied to lprenotalk's topic in DIY Corner
Went to UNS at geylang which was beside jinyu. Jinyu ignored me when i entered the shop. They were busy having lunch, thus i popped by next door at UNS. Quoted 160 for a 2x3x6ft bolt less rack with 4 levels. Then I decided to drop by howell. For the same, it was about 120. A saving of 40 bucks. I took a 3 level one in the end and paid 97. So maybe howell isn't that expensive -
electricity more expensive than gas. for sure induction will cost more to operate. it is a little cleaner due to no naked flames. but in the end gas still cooks better. why do you think no restaurants uses induction for cooking.

empty the bowl and use jif/cif to scrub. it can take some time but eventually the rust stains will come out.

Changing Storage Heater To Instant Heater
mkl22 replied to fongfamily01's topic in Plumbing & Electrical Works
why not just change the storage heater? changing 1 storage vs 2 instant isnt much more expensive. -
the fan should be over where you want to cool.

25L tank is a little undersized for 2 toilets. if you do not use it concurrently it is still ok. but if both toilets shower on at the same time, then the amount of hot water might not be enough for a 25L tank. kitchen you do not really need hot water. also the heaters will be closer to the toilet side so there is a long run to the kitchen sink. and you will need to run the hot water some for some time before you get any hot water. if you really need hot water in the kitchen, then a instant heater is better.

Creating A New Room
mkl22 replied to gunbound888's topic in Landed & Condo Private Properties Renovation Discussion
should not be too ex as you can use those partition walls like offices to create a room. Stuff it with insulation and it would be quite sound proof as well. It can be dismantle easily in the future if you have no need for it. -
yup and not only power, you are also limited by the type of pots and pans you can use. must be ferrous.

trunking is just a covering to make the copper pipes with insulation look nicer on the inside of the house. on the exterior they should be used to protect the insulation. inside the house it is much easier to route and bend the pipes if no trunking is used. you will not need to do a sharp 90deg bend in the trunking and this is much better for the pipes if bends are at a wider radius. so hidden in the false ceiling you do not need trunkings, just make sure you get the thickest possible insulation, so as to prevent condensation as you are now no longer bounded by the size of the trunking

do note that the new fancoils are smaller and do get clogged in the fins and fan blades more easily that the old sanyo ones. My sanyo lasted 17years. Changed because wanted to save the power bills. Maintenance is much more for the Daikin fancoils, you need to remove the plastic housing and clean the fins more regularly to achieve the coldness

Ah meng as in a skinny guy with blond dyed hair? forget him. I used him for my reno. rather boastful, but in the end slipshod work. and also lied that he cleared the gully hole when he did not. found cement inside and left over hacking bits. also did not use a wrench with not teeth when tightening my shower mixer, but instead used the adjustable tooth wrench which scratched my mixer. and his prices were no cheap at all.

Anyone Use Blomberg Kitchen Equipment?
mkl22 replied to watchthewaves's topic in Electronics & Electricals
using blomberg washing machine and dryer. so far so good. but its not made in germany. Blomberg has been bought over by arcelik in turkey. No complaints and it works well. -

wires? the tube holder should have some wires. just use the same diameter will be ok. they are not that current hungry and wires need not be thick. but why did you get some LED lights. may not be cheaper but with the LED strips you can customise the length easily. huge power savings as well if you leave it on for long hours.
