Hmm, we were actually rather concerned about this lift upgrading issue as well before we began the reno as our living room design would need to incorporate the new opening as well as applying for a relevant hacking permit from the authorities. Hence, we emailed hdb to ask about the layout and they replied to inform us that we would need to have a 2nd opening at our balcony. I do not think that we could have a choice to vote for the lift position. Maybe you would like to email hdb about it? They respond rather quickly...

I love white plates as well, they make everything look so delicious.

Hi wazz, we cant wait too!

Am really looking forward to this.... our mbr toilet. As you can see, the main feature wall is up. We chose a dark theme for it, and loyd suggested using silvery tiles placed randomly to spice up the area. Our parents had a hard time trying to digest the idea. Haha.... The workers were cleaning the tiles, hence the soapy look. And some hiccups along the way. Today, when I went to check on the progress, I discovered that the workers had started to construct a storeroom right in my kitchen and that it was already halfway done! Our design did not include a storeroom at all.... hee, major miscommunication. In the end, they had to tear it down. wrong design to our step-down to the kitchen too... wow, cant wait for the reno to be over although we just started!

Hope that all of you had a great long weekend. Me and wifey bought more things over the last week, but FORGOT to take pictures. getting old and forgetful However... we have some tiling works to show. Here's whats being done in our kitchens. We chose a creamy, honey tone to offset our dark living room. The tiles have a slight retro feel to it. Not complete yet, but its still nice to see some progress. Next up, our common toilet. Again, similar colour scheme as the kitchen. However, the tiles are much simpler and cleaner.

Not yet... wet works on going..tiling only done for 1 toilet... maybe I will have something new to post this coming week

I would love a house with such nice scenery and windows... Think you better get some more quotes.. some id set quotations on the type of housing you have...

Nice design on the walls What's the colour combi?

Priced @ $1.4k plus a 20% discount before gst.. so you do the math ha... It's similar to pricing of customized carpentry for the console but the quality is better. There are ton of sales going on in today's papers. XZQT, Om are all having sale. Good to shop ard during these few days. I may have bought my stuff too early... maybe can get an even better discount!

If your living hall already have some design elements in it, advisable not to do a feature wall as it will pull attention away from them. Feature walls are nice if they are the main showpiece. We decided not to have a feature/false wall as we have the platform and rather strong furnishing. BUT I will have to find some way to hide all the wires in the future

Ya modern cntemporary. We selected black tiles for the living hall coz we wanted something different, crossing my fingers for the final effect! We dun like to have a black and white house... even though the furniture so far are mostly black and white haha... Just bought a dining table with 4 chairs... also black! Loyd has confidence in using different paints to achieve the effect we want so he think the furnishing are fine. Mickey, you bought your furniture yet? EVOV is having promotion for some of their items now. Dining table (glass top, stainless steel legs) with 4 chairs (leather top stainless steel legs) at 1.6k+.

So far progress is on track.. but we have just started the wetworks and tiling is beginning within these 2 days... Do agree though, Loyd does take his time... Wow $15 psf... that will be really out of budget haha... actually sort of exceeding budget already... didn't realise a complete overhaul would cost so much... I'm hacking everything and replacing all tiles, constructing a new room and etc etc. Now whenever we or Loyd have any new ideas the first question is "how much?" instead of "how nice" sigh...

Nice surface! My wife totally fell in love with the epoxy finishing when we stepped into Loyd's studio. Thought of getting the same treatment for our floors! BUT then he told us how much he spent on it... hee hee so we went back to tiles. Glad to see this surface treatment works well on carpentry as well... wonder if there's other colours...

The price tag is $2.4k but after must haggling with lena (a most helpful lady over at OM), we got a discount round 20% for everything we bought. I said 'round' cos GST can't be waived, but she managed to sweeten the deal by giving 2 pillows[as above] FOC. (Each cost $60 on her price list!) Overall I think we got a good deal with OM. Quality we saw at the showroom is great. Loyd told us that the finishing of the tv console would be nicer than than the laminated one if we get him and his carpenters to do a construction. If the tv console is of simple design and not something that need to be specially constructed, he recommended to get from OM as the price is on par with his quotation but quality is better! Pricing wise, I think we got value for money since the things are really solid and other people on the forum have good feedback after purchasing from them. And more importantly, really few reliable shops sell furniture with the designs we like. BUT, I think it is possible to get cheaper stuff from places like Hommage and S&C, with all the good reviews people have and prices are really lower by a fair bit. The thing is we aren't the type to shop by catalogues. Its hard to see the finer details of the pieces on a 2D picture. And we can't feel the quality and feel shiok from touching our future furniture.. haha A bit naggy, hope it helps!

New updates!! Went shopping with loyd last tuesday and bought a whole lot of furniture from OM. First up, our TV console. Its about 2.2m long cos we do not intend to mount our big big tv so have to get a big and sturdy console. Our coffee table which consists of 2 separate pieces that can act as side tables as well. Sofa. Ours is going to be in black instead. A lounge chair, to be placed in the living room as well. We ordered this in sexy, passionate RED. And lastly, a pair of cushions in striking zebra prints. Now feeling very light as our pockets are very dry. Doing up a nice house is really expensive!

Dun worry Mickey! I'm sure the wait will be worth it! Your house is super unique! And really that curved dining table is so special!
-
Hey Welcome! The layout of your place is very nice! I like that the 3 rooms are all together! If you knock them down you can have a super big MBR!

Our tiles are already here.... yeah... hmm can anyone guess what is the colour of our living room tiles? rubbish rubbish everywhere...not a single one to spare That's all for today.
