  1. Progress is real slow ... There is nothing much to update since our last post. Just finished installing our air-conditioning and a portion of our ceiling works... Still waiting to start painting and laying our laminates for the rooms. Date of handover is pushed to 2 mths later....
  2. Please look for other contractors/IDs. Judging from what you have told us, I think even $40k is way too high! somemore you supplying tiles, switches and so on.... You really need to get more quotes before signing. Somemore not ID rite? any designing on their part?
  3. Wow I didn't know that LED downlights are so expensive... I like the energy saving function though.. wonder how many years will it take to break even the extra cost compared to normal lights.
  4. Hmmm i'm assuming LED lights are more ex but cheaper on the electricity? What are the better LEDs to look out for? Why Phillips?
  5. Looks really nice and cozy! The lights are really nice!... price too sigh... agree that tv seems a tad too small.
  6. Aiyah nvr buy lights yet. just went shop shop.
  7. I like this too.... but my wifey hates it! haha
  8. Some new pictures Our dining table from EVOV. Can't really capture the design. Some lights that we kind of fancy from lightings.com.sg Loyd says this is too fancy for our guestrooms... Another hanging lamp... but its too long for our dining table.
  9. Its a very nice tile! There are several shades and I think one of the other renos from the forum used a different colour for their bathroom. pretty expensive tile though.
  10. Ya I saw the new collections on their adverts. Looks really good. I'm assuming since its a new collection, even if there's a 25% discount (If I remember correctly?) its gonna be ex. End April seems to be too optimistic... My new estimate is most prob mid-may. though I hasn't confirm with Loyd. BUT I like it slow sometimes. Especially when we see a new design we want to add in ha.
  11. Yeah think I will go back to take some pics... bought ourselves a funky kitchen tap ha....I was initially looking out for Hansgrohe stuff for the bathrooms... then reality(PRICE) sets in... haha Mickey, hows the reno going? lack of updates on your side too ha...
  12. hmmm not sure whether this will work... but those actual cottage house with this kind of roof, some have a beam crossing from one end of the roof to the other. This give them a place to locate a main light piece. but their ceiling are quite high, so I don't know whether this will work for you...
  13. Wow conditions of the flat is really bad. Good thing! You can plan the whole house to your ideal design without any 2nd thoughts! Allt the best for your reno!
  14. Grats on the new house! You can really play ard with the design on a landed property! so much freedom! Envy!
  15. Bought ourselves all the sanitary wares. toliet bowls, sinks, taps, rain shower, heater... almost 20 items! Went over to Poh Joo at Jalan Besar. Rather good pricing I think. FORGET to take pictures AGAIN..
  16. Yeah Mickey , some updates for the week. Hmm, nothing much was really done this week cos we were finalising our lighting points and designs with loyd. Plastering is going to start soon and the electrician is coming too. Our step-down to the kitchen. Very happy with the results. These are our laminate choices... All rooms. Dining platform Gonna go shopping with loyd tomorrow...
  17. Very refreshing colours! not the usual colour combi we see in the kitchen!
  18. And finally, our common toilet feature wall. Space to put our toiletries. Thats all. We also went shopping for our stove and bought a really 'solid' one at KLP. Will update again when we take pictures.
  19. Our kitchen reno..... The start of kitchen tiling. Before. After. Lets zoom in! We chose a wood-lookalike tile to match our creamy theme for the kitchen. I think this tile is named as 'driftwood' or something. Good workmanship! Joint from floor to walls are straight. Nice step-up to the kitchen toilet...
  20. Hi all, been a very long time since the last update. Very busy with work and stuff.... Not much update on the home front... tiling work is taking quite some time. Both the mbr and kitchen toilets' wall and floor tiles are complete.... As the house takes shape, I think the parents are getting more receptive towards the entire feel. Here is our new room, freshly constructed from the materials mistakenly ordered to build the store-room which we have asked to remove. Planning for this to be our future baby room... although now it shall serve to be our MAHJONG room. The living room with our ultra glossy black tiles. My camera cant capture the effect well.
  21. Hi, we are actually using the same floor tiles for the living area! your progress is much faster than mine though. Hope the reno turns out well!
  22. Wow I really like the feel of your place! Something I would go for but the missus doesn't like wood theme... Congrats on having such a beautiful place!
  23. Relax man, I heard that over the last week many workers not ard as they went back for ching ming. Maybe thats the reason? Have a happy reno journey! I'm sure with all the hacking your new house will look totally different and beautiful!
  24. If I'm not wrong the cost is a subsidized payment on our end. It would include everything. though you might want to have spare tiles around for them to touch up the entrance area if your floor tiles are unique.
