oh, da eqpt on top of da Oppo is the kuro mediabox. Dats my initial setup, but heard some spinning sound from my Oppo when I play bluray. I switch these 2 eqpt, wif da Oppo ontop, & da noise is gone. Figured out dat it's not good for da Oppo when u hear weird stuff comin out from it. Will be placing my sub on the front left side of the tv, @ da corner near the settee. 10Q's footprint is bigger, & I'm trying not to have any sub dat is potruding further than my tv console. My only worry now is da 707 cuz due to da tv console, no ventilation is done. Need to figure out a way in how to install a ventilation fan @ da side of the console... "headache oredi"

Wif Scott & Vic advise, land myself a svs pc12+ @ $1850, delivery in dec. Mine is da bash amp, & waiting for the sledge amp & compare da diff. If the diff isn't dat great, may get da sledge instead. Was quoted by them diff ard $200-$250, but I greatly doubt so. Svs US website oredi state the pc12+ w/ sledge @ US$1399!! It may be sold for ard $2.5k locally. Now, it's juz a waiting game...

ok Ken, found da quotes oredi. Will edit some personal info 1st, k. Most prob will email by tonite. Remember, quote is w/o electrical wirings. It alone can cost ard $2k, depending on how much power points & lights u have. Lastly, 1 advise. the quality of the laminates is impt. Google them up. Da bad ones tends to squeaks... Mine is kronotex. My ID install them w/o informing me. Luckily, they dun squeaks. Some ppl r not dat lucky.

yup, it's tiltable. Can adjust by da nuts @ da sides. Dunno how much KEC sellin them thou. It's juz a basic mounting bracket. I sense a lil' poison goin thru u oredi. Main reason y I mount all da speakers: Prevent my lil' one from pulling da speakers.

future upgrade will be to da existing avr, speakers or sub only. Additional items for upgrade could be media player(dune, ac Ryan) or sub equalizer... But all these wun be in da near future. My console is suspended, so if i really got itchy hands again, I can extend the console to the floor to accomodate more additional stuff...

yep, deftech procinema 800. Center speaker is pro 1000 thou. Actually, KEC screwed up da installation of da center speaker. I made a fuss, & get the mounting speaker unit from them. Install it myself & it works out fine in da end. Pro 1000 center speaker is pretty heavy, so u really need to install it correctly.

lemme explain some simple stuffs, k... 1) avr: it's a receiver between ur tv & ur multimedia devices(bluray player, Xbox, starhub box, etc). Video & sound from these multimedia stuff transferred to receiver, sound & picture projected into the tv. 2) 5.1 speakers ( means 5 speakers: 2 Front RL speakers, 2 Rear RL speakers & centre speakers. The .1 means subwoofer speakers. Dun understimate the subwoofer cuz that's where most of the actions comes from) hence, if u only have receiver, it only uses the sound & picture from ur tv. But when u connect da speakers, dats where it takes on a whole new level. Get these 2 things first, then slowly u build & upgrade ur stuffs. Onkyo 608 wun be overkill juz cuz it got 3d hdmi output. It's juz a additional feature. 608 is an entry level avr & most begineers get it for it's ease of use, compared to denon. Go slowly, & it's impossible to do it 1 shot. I slowly builld mine from a budget of $2k, & slowly now wif snowballed to $8k(without da subwoofer). Lastly, let ur ears & eyes be da judge.

KEC is a good start. Their price a bit ex than others, but u also wun get burned cuz their price is pretty fixed. A gd shop for begineers... (da boss is clarence, try to get him to serve u even thou he **** bz at times). Budget wise, $2k is a gd start... Get ready to be poisoned.

How much is da avr? Retail @ audiohouse & major dept store is ard $999. Get it from adelphi, only ard $700-$750. I recommend alpha audio. 608 is a gd entry level avr with hdmi 1.4 (for 3d). U can check at testfreaks.com for the review. 1 of da top few onkyo receivers wif a 9+ ratings. For speakers, there r better speakers out there beside jamo. Audition @ adelphi. There r floorstanders, bookshelf & satellite speakers. For ur place, I can bet u wld like those satellite ones. Da smaller the speakers, the lesser the impact. & like my few audio mentors advise: never buy soundbars, htib or Bose if u want to have a mini cinema @ home. Mirage, definitive technology, tannoy, kef, klipsch... all these are da recommended speakers. If the speakers comes wif subwoofer, upgrade it to velodyne or svs... The diff is huge. My personal advice: dun buy an entertainment system w/o goin adelphi. Dats da mecca of audiophiles & videophiles in s'pore. Muz be thick skin also to ask for advise.

Yep, my avr will get cooked if I dun do anything abt it. Oppo 83 is in a class of it's own, bro. I used to have Oppo 80, but got poisoned. The upscaling of DVD is great. Juz get it & u wun regret it.

1) yes, it will be closed 2) dats y I used a tinted black glass, for access to players wif da remote. If u thinking of using opaque surfaces, u can try da new harmony universal remote (ard $700). 3) yet to install ventilation fan. Still sourcing for them @ sim lim on how to install & da types of fans they have. My onkyo will definitely runs hot w/o ventilation.

Reno w/o aircon, electrical stuffs... Only da renovating is $26k. Electrical works ard $2.5k. Somewhere ard dat price... Anyway, thx for da compliment...

I got da cabinet from ikea, less than $200.. Installation wise, dun haf to engage id. Ikea have their own installers... Hope this helps...

bro vic, oppo83 connected directly to my kuro... my definitive speakers collectin dust while awaiting da arrival of avr. no choice bro, budget pretty tight as im expecting my 1st newborn this mth... need to prioritize. when u have tot u got enuf $$$ to buy AVR, need to buy stroller, need to buy crib... once my baby born, need to sort out my finances & whether got remaining to buy da AVR asap...
