  1. I am also using ID Note, Henry... May I know your units is how may room-type or Condo? I think is rather standard price but you can still nego down some more on the painting cost. Btw, did you get others to quote you as comparison?
  2. Just bought the above model from Counts yesterday...is the latest model from Philips...got it as a road show display set at $1999...orignial offer price I think is selling at $2599. Come with 3 years warrenty The sales guy told me the set is only 2 weeks old and I believe him since this is really the latest model. I went to JP HN, Audio House also never see this model on display yet...so quickly gap it. Btw...I saw this in the Philip 2009/2010 catalogue and really love the specs and design, especially the Ambilight... is it a good buy? http://www.consumer.philips.com/c/televisi...664h_12/prd/sg/
  3. Hi momo13, Welcome to the club…looking forward to your T-blog Hi Jamieogh, Yes, 75% of the items brought and still kept in the seller warehouse lor. See something, buy…hahaa. Accept for the following items, the rest all settle liao 1) Lighting – most likely getting from Lighting.com 2) Roller blinds and panel blinds – will be getting from Ikea since they cannot store for more than 3 days, no pointing getting so early. 3) Ceiling Fan – Most likely getting the Elmark brand ones. 4) 42” LCD and Soundbar – targeted Philips, waiting for the year end PC show. 5) Study Table and bookshelf for my son – Ikea is my choice. Btw, did you engage Henry for the electrical work? Can share the quote on electrical cost? Still not sure whether to get my own electrician or not… Mmmm…maybe is also time that I start my T-blog liao… see whether can do it this weekend or not… Cheers…

Aside to Simon, I totally agree with you on Henry's Quotation and his excellent response to phone call/sms. So far, he reply all my sms, phone calls and all queries... We are all working class, so really got no time to be aeroplane by ID/ Contractors...so my 1st criteria on choosing contractors is responsiveness... Cheers to both my seniors...
  5. Hi Simon, It is HDB 4 room at Jurong West...and is my existing house...just want to give the house a new look after 10 years of stay... Cheers...

  7. Hi, You can also try to get a quote from my Contractor, Henry from I.D. Note... I will start my Reno in November...his quote is the lowest out of 6 quotation I got and I like his quote...everything clearly listed down. Btw.I got to know this contractor from the forum too...look at the t-blog under Supersimon...his house was done up by Henry... If you need the contact can PM me...btw his shop at Woodlands. He will usually request to visit your place before giving you the quote which I think is better so as to have minimum error. Stay tune...for my T-blog in Mid November... Cheers
  8. I bought all my Toilet and Kitchen accessories from there 2 shops along Jln Besar. GR Link Marketing (No. 155 Jalan Besar) – Look for Benny or Jasmine Poh Joo Hardware (389/ 391 Jalan Besar) – Look for Shen Yang After walking into many shops along the streets... I found out one thing in common... each of them will carry a few items that will be cheaper then others…unless you want to buy each of them separate from these different shop and in the end confuse on where you actually bought the items from…Else I will advise you not to shortlist more then 2 shops to buy your items. As for Toilet Accessories…please take note of the quality and not only looking at the price Obviously you cannot compare a set of 7 pieces accessories make of plastics (in brass coating) to another set that is made of stainless steel…and going around telling people you have a good deal over others…of course not forgetting about design. Sharing a personal encounter, we were at PJ yesterday when my wife saw a mirror that cost only $25 (before discount) and start to scold me why I pay $55 for a mirror from GR…to save the breath on debating, we took a photo of the mirror and went back to GR to compare… there she seen the difference…more refine design, thickness and the finishing…一分钱一分货 Especially on W.C, Basin and tap… very subjective in term of design. Generally, all the shops along Jln Besar are good deal as compare to those operating in a shopping mall… (You are sharing their high rental…) Buying from Jln Besar, will save you a couple hundreds of dollars... Other factor to consider 1)Good Service, Product Knowledge and the so call “Chemistry” between you and the seller… 2)Time verse money – If you don’t have the time to go around shopping, then maybe paying more in places like IMM can save you a lot of trouble… Hope the above are useful to you… just my 2 cents worth of advice…Cheers.
  9. Hi, May I know whether your reno contractor will put up all the accessories first or will they put them up after the acid wash of the toilet? If they put the accessories up first then acid wash, what if the acid kanna the W.C accessories... will it spoilt the surface? Thanks for reply...
  10. I brought my Baron @ $240 plus a square basin 58cm...total offer $299...
  11. Hi, Anyone bought their Toilet stuff at GR Link Marketing? It is along Jln Besar...just beside Poh Joo... I brought the following items from them Baron WC together with a white Basin at $298 Basin Tap - $63 7 pcs matt stainless steel accessries $135 Crizto Designer Mirror $58 Anyone please comment whether I got it at a good price or not... I do not want to buy all at one shot from the shop because not sure whether they the price is reasonable or not... but I find their price almost the same as Poh Joo...
  12. Hi, Me from and wife really love the design of the my metal gate that you have, can you with us the contractor contact and address...did you get this same contractor to do up your widown grill too? For your MBR shower area, what is the measurement of the screen and is there any glass door? Thanks in advance for sharing. : D
  13. Hi, May I know where I can find any shop that can help to cut timber at a reasonable price? I wanted to get this wooden worktop from IKEA but the length is too long and need to cut it shorter. Made an enquiry from IKEA and they actually charge me $80 for cutting….almost the same price as the piece of worktop. Thanks in advance for help…
  14. not hidden cost but I will call it addtional cost which includes GST 10% material wastage hacking existing skirting triming of doors after installation wood skirting underlay foaming
  15. Hi, For DIY Laminated floor, why don't you buy from IKEA....they sell all the tools required for the job and still with Warrenty wor... Dun as others mentioned, get the contactor to do it...I dun think is that simple. Just as I have shared in other forum...I have just signed up with Kronotex after much seaching and compariosn...price wise, you will be surprise that is not that expensive as some forumer claim...I got the AC4 series...but no Life Time Warrenty like what others claim...but to me no point life time lor... btw, I don't work for Kronotex, just want to share this good offer I got...cheers
  16. Yes, I am going to sign with Kronotex tomorrow...using the AC4, Dynamics series....the sale person is Wilson...very friendly and nice guy...he is the GM of the sale team. The link for reference below... http://www.kronotex.com.sg/10001189.htm Although Kronotex did not have the so call life time warrenty from some other brand like Supreme and Vohringar etc. but I seen their sample and very impress with the colour and finishing...anyway I don't think it is that easy to claim such warrenty... btw...the most important is the pricing that I was quote by Kronotex direct and I think I got a rather good deal that even my Contractor can't match when he try to source for me the same series. I was quote less than $3.6K for 3 bedroom, living and dining room (4A) includes the following 1) hacking of existing skirting 2) Laminated skirting 3) triming of all affected wooden doors 4) foaming (4mm) 5) all wastage and GST. Although is around $700 more than what my contactor quote me for that ?? brand, Kronofix...but I think I is worth for a confirm Made in Germany product... if anyone keen, I am glad to share Wilson's contact with u, pm me. btw...there is this interest free credit card payment of max 12 mths, I think using OCBC and DBS... Cheers...
  17. Hi, Thanks for all the reply. After much searching, enquiry and comparison, I finally decided to go Kronotex...Dynamic series (AC4) and I am going to put deposit tomorrow... The link for reference below... http://www.kronotex.com.sg/10001189.htm This is a made in Germany series and although did not have the so call life time warrenty from some other brand like Supreme and Volringar etc. but I seen their sample and very impress with the colour and finishing... Actually the so call lifetime warrenty is really redundent in my opinion...so far I don't think we will want to sick to a product for life time...moreover, I don't think it is that easy to claim such warrenty... btw...the most important is the pricing that I was quote by Kronotex direct and I think I got a rather good deal that even my Contractor can't match when he try to source for me the same series. I was quote less than $3.6K for 3 bedroom, living and dining room (4A) includes the following 1) hacking of existing skirting 2) Laminated skirting 3) triming of all affected wooden doors 4) foaming (4mm) 5) all wastage and GST. Although is around $700 more than what my contactor quote me for that ?? brand, Kronofix...but I think I is worth for a confirm Made in Germany product... btw...if anyone keen, I am glad to share the sale guy contact with you...his name is Wilson. A friendly guy that is not pushy to sell his product... last thing that I find it attractive is the interest free credit card payment of max 12 mths, I think using OCBC and DBS... Cheers...
  18. Hi, Anyone try painting the alum. windows grill with Nippon bordelac 9000? Is it difficult ? Will the paint able to stick well on the alum surface? Will it easily peel off after sometime? I am thinking of painting the grill because if I will to replace my exisitng grill I will need to spend about $500 to relocate some aricon trucking which happen to run along my MBR windows.... Thanks for all advice.
  19. Hi, May I know how much your contractor quote you for the tempered glass? My contractor quote me $500 for 10 ft run. Is that expensive...he told me that is already very good price liao...

  22. Hi Simon, A little suggestion for you...instant of the netbook, why not get a mini desktop CPU (I think HP and Acer has very nice vertical standing type) together with wireless keybord and mouse (blue tooth apdator type for longer range) then you can comfortably surf the net and chat with on the big screen liao... Cheers
  23. Hi, As I have the same toilet layout as yours, may I know whether did you increase the depth of the wall behind the basin? (adding hollow block) and what is the spacing that you are setting aside for your shower screen? I am doing the measurement and I think the most I can set aside 77cm...and this is pretty clamp...
  24. Hi, Can't wait to see how your MBR toilet basin and cabinet concept will look like...as I am always thinking hard how to do it for my MBR toilet with such limited space...(same layout as your MBR toilet) do you have your sketches or 3d drawing to share with me here....
