  1. Hello... Not sure why you still holding on the issue of Henry rejecting your reno for such a long time. Enough lah move on... simon and the rest are related to Henry just like me as a satis customer lor... What else you think... You mean customer and contractor cannot eventually become friends... ah. Actually I also want to know are you contractor trying to condemn Henry hah... I like the Chinese phrase...人在做,天在看..so are we... Our conscious are clear. Aiyo better stop...my Angmo not so powerful...
  2. Long time never visit our "Henner club" liao...seem like my bro simon is under attack from all sided... First of all, I will like to say that Simon is a very helpful guy and he tried his very best to help out forumer by introducing good lobang for all of you...like ID Note, Lighting.com etc. but when the lobang cannot fits into people liking, he end up being call biasing... I believe all of the henner members including myself had stated in our t-blog the good and bad about henry's work but some of us had more positive comments than the negative ones. For Fencer case, I had given my opinion in his t-blog and occassionally vsited his blog...any hidden truth? I cannot comments as I have no time to call Henry to verify...but 1 thing for sure, Fencer is more demanding then me...haha. During my time of renovation, I thought I will be "blacklisted" by Henry as I am chasing him daily for progress and ensure his handover in time before my boy new school term started... Seriously, I am very grateful that Henry keeps his promise by helping to ensure his subcontractor turned up for work although I must say I do most of the close work monitoring myself to ensure things are done according to my expectation... In my renovation, Henry's work make up for about 65% as Laminated flooring, electrical work, wall paper and warobe done by other contractors...as such I must ensure that my other contractors will not be delayed by his work. Due to this common understanding and objective that "You arrange things swee swee, I ensure my payment soon soon" my renovation went on smooth and handed over to me about 2 days before the HO date. We are still friends now, and I can always be sure that if any problem with the work done, he will response... Look here, we are customer but we must also be a reasonable customer and dun hold back payment simply because some 5% issues but 95% are done up...they as contractor also need to pay their sub-con and suppliers too... Anyway, this is just my 1 cent of advice...
  3. Hi Hi, Need advice...anyone doing laminated floor experience expansion on the laminates that case some area to pop up? Kronotex agreed to rectify all the affected area but I iwill like to know any bro or sis out there ever have rectification work done on such problem before and may I know the amount of mess that will be create?
  4. Hello Dmay, just drop by to say hello to you...hope things are going on smoothly for you.... The water seepage issue resolved? btw...I see in fencer t-blog that you are saying you are the elder amount all the henner...I think I am elder but not as old as what Simon say lah...40!! a few more years to 40 lah
  5. Bro, just drop by to say hello...cheers.
  6. Bro, just drop by to say hello to you... your stairway beri nice...
  7. Bro, just drop by to say hello to you...long time no chat...hope things are going on smoothly for you....cheers
  8. Bro, just drop by to say hello to you...hope things are going on smoothly for you....
  9. Fencer, If you notice, I am also one of the pioneer Henner and is a happy customer...after spending 1.5 hrs reading your 8 pages and noted all the hip up between u and Henry... May I know, how many times have you done renovation and coordinates contractors? If this is your first time, then I will tell you that you are lucky that Henry is your contractor...why? 1) He is willing to work towards your handover date 2) He bother to walk-thru with you so many times to check the defects 3) He still bother to answer your call From your t-blog, you really turning over the table very very fast...one moment you praise him high and the next moment you are nailing him... You keep mentioning you payig $40K for the renovation and expecting high standard...but may I ask, did you request for other quotation before deciding to give the job to Henry? so his pricing was reasonable tats why you choose him or you are paying a premium price to engage him...( ie. other quote you $30K but you decided to pay $40K to engage him). If the later is the case, I surely support you...Else, please read other renovator t-blog to see their encounter. For sure, Henry dun proritize the importance of customer basing on the renovation amount else I think mine will be peanuts to him...total amount of work that I engage him to do was only around $20K but till today he still call me occasionally to chat with me...like a friend. As such, I can be sure that he will help me in rectification work in future if needed. If you ask Henry about me, he will probably also tells you tat I am a demanding customer that request high quality of work...but me, I choose to call him to discuss the problem to arrange for rectification rather then spending my time posting on issues that probably able to rectify easily... Sometimes, we should ask ourselve, those defects make up how many % of unsatisfactory work in the whole renovation work? 5%, 10% or 20% ? Dun you think you are fair to Henry by painting such a bad image on him in the forum? I sincerely hope you look back to see after so many rounds of talking with Henry, are you sure that the defect list still so long? Please paint the forumer the right picture...instead of merely fasting your anger... I seldom log in nowadays, just drop by your blog to give my opinion of the matter to other forumer/reader...
  10. quote name='merydith' date='Apr 8 2010, 04:09 PM' post='518159'] Hello Danny, you still here? I wana ask you about the panel curtains, so far only remember that you installed them so i can only ask you. Hehe. So far how are the curtains huh? is the sliding mechanism working well? and when it's windy, will the curtain sway a lot? I thinking of installing the curtains in my daughter and PIL room wor. must find out more first. Hi Merydith, Sorry for the late reply...nowadays seldom log into RT....busy. The panel curtain is nice to have and the sliding mechanism not problem so far. The only thing is when the place is windy, the panel will sway...so what you need to do is to slide all the panel to one side.... If you open the window widely very often, then no adviceable... You intent to DIY installation? It is not as easy as it looks like...especially that you are doing the installation alone...like me...shiong ah. Cheers.
  11. It seem to me that the lights are LED...why not drop him a line to ask... Classen...never heard before leh...is it really made in Germany? is better to find out properly so many product out there...every product claim that they are good... Anyway you still have time, can slowly consider...but not so late until finish every other reno items ...mid of reno you will need to decide liao.
  12. I vote for the orangy mosaic across... btw...your floor is black and wall is white and grey with these mosaic?
  13. bro...your tile selection indeed fast...I thought my 2 hours oready super fast liao...wahhaaa
  14. Bro...black floor really very difficult to maintain one leh...like my 2 toilets and foyer area black tiles...a little dirty you also cannot tahan one...so must also clean... Grey maybe a better choice lor...
  15. Aiya...if do liao then no choice lol...I also regret choosing black solid top mah... anyway...majority of your reno work you still satis... right? cheers
  16. My downlight those square type with either 1 PL or 2 PL tube in it...I think is 13 or 18 watt...cannot recall liao...all from Lighting.com. Have u choosen your lighting yet, if not drop by Lighting.com...price very compeitive... So have u also choosen Kronotex for laminated flooring? which series? can't wait to see the entire transformation of your house...after the reno...
  17. No lah...you cannot compare philips with Yamaha...different league leh...and mine worst the lower end soundbar...but hor to me oready very good liao leh...watching blue ray oready "bom...bom..." very shock...hahaa Yah, dun wait for the warehouse sale lah...next week see whether any good buy in IT show...as what El Nimo says...7 series onwards already very good liao...100Hz..
  18. bro...not true leh, undermount is much much nicer...dun worry about the water seep thru...if they do it properly, no water will go thru...they put a lot of sealent around the sink and on the wood top and put the solid top on then sealent again...no chance water seep thru... Some contractor will tell u dun do undermount because the job more effort and workmanship...top mount very easy just put on top of solid top then put sealent around it...so easy...thats why most ID/ contractor advice customer to do top mount... Actually you look at it, if water will to seep thru top or undermount got no difference leh...
  19. time flies...before u notice it, Jaden in Primary school liao...hahaha... Do u know I really feel bad for my house...after 10 years of staying then I gave it a new look...but no choice lah...that time no money to reno so simply just paint the house and move in liao...

  21. I was lookin thru my t-blog and noted that I started this blog during my last trip to Mexico in Oct 09. During then, I had not even started my reno and now I am in Mexico again but my reno oready completed and moved in.... Time flies, already 5 months past by liao and a quarter of the year gone liao... 23. Ya...so we are very near...next time can go kopi shop for kopi liao... I think the floor area is about the same but the layout different...my kitchen is behind and yours is at the entrance...my living room is L-shape and yours square. I think the MBR toilet same...equally small.especally the shower area...the width for my shower screen is less then 780mm... Having 2 fan in the living room is Ok, I also have 2...but one in the main hall and 1 in relax corner... cheers
  24. I have a link for you to compare the specs of 7,8 and 9 series...for 8 series there is 2 model, 1 LCD and 1 LED both with ambient light... http://www.consumer.philips.com/c/televisi...CONSUMER%3Dtrue In the link, u will also see the soundbar model... Last year was around Aug/ Sept...for thr warehouse sales. Haha...I did not get the very ex sound bar, mine the lower end one with without DVD/ Blue ray function...but cost less then $240 and with 2 HDMI Input and 1 HDMI output so I bought a blue ray player to connect up...total damage less then $500... so far happy with the outcome... My ear not very sensitive to high quality audio but my eye more choosy to visual ...so invested in better TV set... Back to the black solid top...those scratches if not too deep can still be polish by this 3M stainless steel spray...recommend by installer...but if the scratch is deep hor...good luck. Until today, I still dunno how some of scratches were formed?
  25. Hi Bro, Rondy is very right...is very difficult to maintenance the black solid top. Mine already had multiply scratches in many areas...eye sore. I should have taken grey colour that time... Since you not done yet, why not take black granite or quartz...or change to grey colour... Cheers
