You mean the sharp edges will protrude out of the shower screen ? If thats the case, you might want to file it rounded to be in line with the shower screen.

Do you have a shower screen ? If yes, then the sharp edge will not be a problem else I think you might have to forgo design for safety reasons. This is important especially when you have kids home.

Oh I was hoping if I can start during that time too Like some of the bros and sis have advised me, it depends on whether the previous owner have done or not. Can always ask your contractor to check it out. Also it depends on how long you would like to stay in the unit, if it's for maybe 5 yrs or less then doing it might not seems worth while. I intend to do it since I might be staying there for many many years hahahahaa
