  1. umm.. additional cost abt $200+ i tink.. if dun make base, gotta mop underneath the fridge n washer.. if make base, can mini flood the kitchen, water from the floor wont reach the bottom fridge easily..
  2. yea! lovely lomo pics! wads a mini diana btw? din noe theres a mini.. and u actually interchanged films with someone overseas! =p my lca and holga has been in storage ever since my prep for wedding n house started.. haha.. btw, i also hope to "beautify" my rooms with enlarged prints of my amateur lomo pics.. so colourful!
  3. Hey ossify, i also duno leh, dun think we'll flood the kitchen with water, cus there's no "step" between the kitchen n living room.. but hor, if u look at the floor plan, the fridge and washer size is already determined by the kitchen cabinets liao.. so make or dun make cement base actually no difference with regards to the size leh...
  4. hehe i think i showed him bef, but he warned me dat it'd bring up the cost... hmm.. abt that display cabinet thing, i dun have much carpentry with open or clear display, cus like u, i wanna go for easy maintenance, and even if inside is messy, nobody can see!
  5. Chose our toilet floor tiles at Hafary a few weeks back.. Only the floor tiles will be overlayed, the existing wall tiles came from HDB.. not very nice, but still acceptable cus no funny/weird designs except for the pseudo mosaic.. master toilet (brought the samples to the flat to take photo so dat can visualize better. hahah) common toilet One thing we forgot when selecting tiles, is the cement base for the fridge and washer in kitchen, cus current owner dun have cement base at all in kitchen... The existing kitchen floor tile is small (i assume 30x30cm) and in pink, we have no idea whether to select a grey tile for the base or something close to pink for the base.. Will it look weird to have a different coloured tile for the fridge and washer base or shld we get pink? but i dun think possible to get back very similar pink tiles leh... hai...
  6. hehe yah nicer in the living room.. but budget house no budget for tis mei mei feature wall.. only got budget for different colour painted wall.. lol..
  7. yea.. i hear them talk i also go blur... i only know how to see the flying stars chart, duno how to read read...
  8. hey ossify, i dun mean the drainage hole wor... i meant the distance in the pic below.. if too small, might be difficult to clean.. hehe.. im a lazy person...
  9. this is the feature wall i was talking abt!! although its a dust magnet... but very chio huh??? with the lightings reflected on it especially.. but i duno what they used to do the uneven surfaces.. dun think is tiles...
  10. hehe.. Simon and kopi, i think not everybody's bazi or wadever suits the same things in terms of FS ba.. if everybody cannot wear red, den this world very dull liao lo! so dun worry im sure ur kitchen will turn out nice nice like simon's!
  11. oooh, gd taste! but hmm, i tot laminates the carpenter will cut it to the right size one? but anyway, think its cus urs will have to go top, side, front and bottom thats why hard to align them nicely issit?
  12. ooh thanks for the tip! we still havent figured out how to get there yet.. hehe.. got timing for the feeder bus? hmmm.. actually there was no mention abt not having the horizontal beam above the bed leh... maybe i'll ask the hubby to go check..
  13. hahaha.. my parents' house low floor, so see many many times... if in my own room, den i bo bianz.. gotta kill it... kitchen can close one eye... i wonder how can we minimize this from happening in our new house leh.. stick the pellets in before the contractors do up the cabinets?
  14. Hey ossify, jus happened to see ur signature, that ure getting Baron WC and bidet for $500, issit a 1-pc WC? if it is, maybe u'd wanna take note of the distance between the wall which ur WC is resting against, and the bottom of the WC... cus if the gap between ur WC and wall is very small, very hard for water to flow thru dat area, and very hard for u to clean too... sth we learned from an uncle when we said we wanted to get baron WC...
  15. if i go to the kitchen and get water in the middle of the night and i see xiao qiang.... i pretend not to see it and go back to sleep.... cus i ever spray before, then the whole troop came tumbling out from under the cabinets! can fill up 2 tiles of 60x60cm... really duno where they come from cus we dun see them in the day time...
  16. which factory did u go to? EDL or Lamitak? both at Sungei Kadut rite? very far... oh.. can stick laminates on false wall? hmm.. maybe we'll check with Henry next time we meet him.. wallpaper hard to maintain.. last time my parents house, after 1-2 yrs the wallpaper peeled off, then the white wallpaper somehow got yellow streaks on it... like water stain even though no leaking anywhere nearby.. so its a nono for wallpaper for me, although some of them are reaally nice..
  17. hehe nono.. the laminate is for the backing of the wardrobe.. hehee.. i post up the feature wall tonite! hahah.. the bed was the first thing we bought! but cus we were casually shopping... then kenna psychoed... but ok la, now the price oso higher than when i bought..
  18. Angel... not me... *points to hubby*...
  19. Angel, ahh... u talkin abt something like newnyew's? tall tall one? anw, i think cannot put laminate on wall rite? can only put on wardrobes and cabinets? but we bought our bed alr, and the bedframe + headboard came free with it.. hehe..
  20. oh yah.. true hor.. and false wall echo will be quite loud.. sigh, gotta wait till we get our keys den decide.. cus a certain direction facing will require our bed to stick to the window wall.. a certain direction will require our bed to b a minimum distance away from the window wall.. ma fanz!
  21. True, i think when its on one big piece of wall, the 2nd laminate's texture will be almost invisible.. Will go down n check out the actual thing and post it up! Rasp, yah, i also worry abt the dust part of it.. but if white glossy laminates, then the one who's sleeping facing the wardrobe can see reflection... dats why we were considering textured.. anw i like your house cus u keep it simple and easy to maintain! Actually i think the pop out is not very thick, maybe like 0.5mm? i think..
  22. Angel, im not sure yet, but i think the 20cm walkway on the right side of the bed is really pathetic.. but also depends on exactly what direction our house is facing after we get the keys and remove the main gate.. Initially i wanted to do a feature wall behind the bed, a magnified version of my 1st laminates.. Dun have the pic now, tonight den upload... hee Yah, we also like the 1st laminate, but duno if it'd be overwhelming when its on a big piece of wall...
  23. we're havin a dilemma in choosing the laminates for the back-side of our wardrobe (which is also the side our bed is facing)... we want it to be in a light colour so that it wont make the area look more cramped and smaller than it already is.. we want some textured laminates as most of the living area and kitchen are already in plain white laminates... These are EDL laminates, area size of this shld be 2.5cm by 2.5cm.. cant really imagine how it looks like on the back of a 8ft full height wardrobe.. so might be goin down to the warehouse in SK to see the actual thing... any comments?
  24. Angel, hee.. finally see ur mbr design... and yup! its exactly like ours, with that column there on the right side of ur bed.. but the walkway on the left side of the bed will be smaller than urs... however, our door opening of the wardrobe wont be on this side, it'd be on the other side.. facing the toilet.. so thinking that little fake-walkway space is still ok...
  25. hehe thanks for the advice! we havent firmed up on the solid top yet.. so still got time to surf ard for more pics.. but so far yet to see someone with a grey solid top too..
