Day 25.. exactly 1 month after we started reno... minus off sundays and p.hs.. 1st coat of painting... and downlight holes cut! its a very refreshing scene that greeted me and i was instantly banished of all my unhappiness prior to seeing the new place! no more blues (literally! ) some of our paints, and our new switch! no more blues!

hello! wow, your reno is almost 7788 already.. ohh, u pushed ur sink all the way to the end... so ur washer is beside ur sink, and the fridge is beside ur red tall cabinet? will u be having a shift-able table on the right hand side? u have more cabinet space than me cus of the tall cabinet... i like your kitchen colour combi! and i see that uve covered up ur bomb shelter too with a feature wall? any storage in that? 21st dec is 3 more days! btw, i got my coffee table from OM, and shoe cabinets from ikea, those mount to wall kind..

teehee... dats the original tiles from hage-dee-bee 5 yrs ago.. it isnt exactly mosaic.. its tiles but faked to look like mosaic..

hmm, actually i have no idea leh, maybe they open up the wall den cement the trunking in there? i didnt see the trunking when i went back in the evening... im not sure if this is done by our contractor or our electrician... cus we engaged them separately..

Hey bigeyedfish! dropping by to check out ur place.. ur new place is indeed big leh! if only that wall in the middle can hack, then ur living room will be super spacious.. your old place is plain and boring? ok leh i feel, very move-in condition.. u kept it very well! anyway, i think for the things uve shortlisted at PJ at jalan besar, i think u can get it for similar price or cheaper at Heritage (from reviews from many forumers) as well as GR link.. the owners of GR link went for short break i think.. of course, they must have the design that you want la.. i got my mbr basin from PJ cus dats the only one that caught my eye, and the rest i got from grlink..

i think it depends on what u discuss with ur agent.. we gave her half of the commision after 1st appt, and the remainder after 2nd appt.. cheque to be written to the company, not the agent.. as for the invoice, she came to our place a few days after we gave her the 1st half commision to pass us the invoice... u can try to negotiate with ur agent, if he/she's willing to wait till the handover of keys for the commision..

lucky u! managed to get gd stuff.. anyway i think the Daily advent offers, some of them quite gd deals, but troublesome to only go back on the days which have the particular things u wan..

hmm how come u all can find so many gd deals at the As-Is section? The As-Is section at tampines always not very gd quality and quite alot of "bruises" one..

eh hmm, oops i forgot to notice it just now.. hide the trunking as in? they will cover it with the tiny pvc covers rite?

Day 22.. L-box and false ceiling in living and dining area up! I was still expecting to see the bone structure.. pleasant surprise! Our flattened bed board partition, and our sealed up original door position with existing door still inside..! We are thinking of doing cement shelf at the shower area, wanted to do a long long one across the orange wall, but i think we'll hit against it quite often... so contractor suggested a 10" by 10" triangle shelf in the position above.... this tiny space, i doubt can put all my barang.. shampoo, conditioner, shower foam, facial foam are the essentials... and this shelf is $120... abit ex.. how how brown cow? if get the glass shelf i scared will drop on feet, and more difficult to clean..

Day 18 of reno.. Wiring job by hubby's ex colleague.. its a bundle of wires at the main switch at door entrance... we have 2 of 4 gang switches! think it'll take me quite a while to remem which button is for which light... very neatly done.. all in preparation for the false ceiling which will start today... YAY! one of the major changes.. the fridge base has been rounded now! we forgot to indicate this to our contractor and he drew a square one for the tiler... we requested him to change.. and tada! no more bruised toes! i hope...

wow, its really your themed house... did u cut the shape of mickey on the wall/partition? that looks like theres a 1 inch depth of mickey... hehe... cant wait to see more!

hello! thats a very nice layout uve got there... rooms have got lots of privacy! when are u starting reno? any current state of the house to share?

sad, they only have tinted bronze colour.. so prob wont get alr, cus would prob stick out like a sore thumb... the only cheap way is to cover my washing machine with a cloth when its not in use to minimise the oil splatter..

thankew danny oh you sourced for the PU board from dama and passed it to ur ID? hehe we also getting alot of laminates from EDL.. Their range for lightly patterned ones are more than Lamitak.. next week will start false ceiling and L-box.. hopefully will move even faster from there so dat i can quickly start cleaning up! haha.. cant stand the dust..

no ah? but i wanted to do an uplift becus i wanna minimize the splashing of oil from the hob to the washer leh... but liddat if cannot tahan heat.... means cannot? anyways.. hubby emailed the dama peeps and they suggested polycarbonate cus its more heat resistant...

hey danny, yah, i chose grey cus i lazy to clean and i dun wanna maintain the black stains (if white top) or scratches (if black top).. heh.. your cabinet top is silver? looks white from the photos.. Galaxy not grey enough for u ah? so its more of towards black or light grey? any pics to share? cus my galaxy wall havent paint yet.. still can change!

babe, pls do not pay up until its completed, and you're satisfied with the work given by ur ID... given the history of the ID u described in the earlier posts, u better protect ur wallet and be cautious abt it k? cus once u pay up, u got no edge over your ID... if there are any defects, any small minor/major defects u want them to fix, i think trying to get them to come back to fix it will be like trying to move a mountain...

wooo... the black glass tv console looks good leh! when the tv goes up it'd be complete! black backsplash for the kitchen too...
