  1. carpenter can do oso...mine done by carpenter
  2. it sometimes relies on the confidence between you and your contractor. If through recommendations, most of them will keep to they standards and promises because they also dont want to tarnish their reputations. Advertisement thru mouth is far more stronger than thru any other source.Payment wise i believe that you pay them good, they will work better, sometimes may also do extra without charging, ( my carpenter/contractor like that lor, ), thanks to tplittey recommendation, he is really accomdating like you say... I agreed that there are also people that spoilt the reputation, so cannot blam owner like us so wary of contractors
  3. maybe you want to contact my carpenter Mr Kok to discuss on your time frame?? he also do general works and coordination..a no time job got a not time way of working.you can consider talks to a few of the carpenters and contractors in the forum and see what is their advise..generally a kitchen cabinet can be done up in 3 days if they really rushup (of course no comprise on the workmanship), my carpenter is rushing some projects when he done mine, he is a carpenter for some well know design house, so he also got dead line to meet, i saw the workmanship and rest assure mine..
  4. this one is the heavy duty full extension tracks.mine also uses this type. but if you say is shaky, maybe the measurements is not right. You can consult your carpenter and ask them to adjust the side slightly to make the drawers not so shaky?? sometimes miss by a little 1mm space will make alot of difference..but too tight also not good
  5. anti slaming runner are not cheap wor..about $50plus for blum brand..but still need consider the labor charges for a carpenter to change for you. Tink ikea cheaper but dont know whether lasting or not.you want to consider stick those little transparent studs from DIY shop to the side of the drawer to cushion the slamming noise instead??
  6. not much difference lar, my carpentry works done by Mr kok ( recommended by tplittely n trees) uses EDL, SengLee, Tamitak and Jennings. The difference only on the design, whether you like the wood grains or any selections that which ever brings in..me spend a full 3 days on deciding the pattern and colours that i want..too many that i like but cannot take all..His designer Ms perlyn help me to blend the colour and selections. Thanks to her patient and suggestion ya.. Maybe you can also ask your carpenter to help you on the selection, they see all sorts iof colour everday.. sometimes really difficult to tell the design on the cabinet when you can only see the little cutout piece on the sample books..Lucky my carpenter take a bigger piece for me to confirm before pasting onto my cabinets.. so me rest assure no mistakes.
  7. is your rack cost you alot?? sometimes is whether is it practical to go thru the hazzel of buying the laminates, glue n relay onto the surface..there are alot of laminate suppliers at woodland area, think 1 pieces of laminate cost around $20plus to $40plus..thinking of going there to buy, bring home, buy glue to stick on it, spending time to trim side nicely as it is to be display **** hall area, and blah blah.. if it is not a very big one, maybe you can consider to buy 1 nice one or custom made 1 instead?? just a little suggestion ..no offence and hope dont mind..
  8. Eee... does it consist of a feature wall behind?? my carpenter quoted me $95pftr for a suspended console, but yours with sliding door at center may be add a little bit lor.. if it comes with a full height feature wall maybe is around $160-$195 pfr depend on the design. ( statistic from the forum), yours turnout to be ard 10FTL but at $260 pfr wor..you must be given a relly expensive design ya??
