However, no matter how much homework we as homeowners have done, we are still laymen outside the industry. There are still many hidden knowledge that only those in the industry knows, and whom they will never share with us upfront.

Thanks. Thought was a good idea. Wished I had done that earlier. Hate that window and the other long window facing the yard which restricted the kitchen cabinet layout.

Hi, You seal up the small kitchen window above the sink?

TS, what's size of the flat? 3-rm? 4-rm or 5-rm? If 4/5-rm, I think the quote is reasonable (e.g.$1.1K painting is cheap for 4/5-rm).

That's true, esp when there are so many eateries and fast food there. Saw many empty mcdonalds wrappers, paper cups there. Guess many people tabao their meals to the garden and eat. -

Yeah. Brought the kids to the garden and playground. Very spacious, clean and green. Hope can continue to keep it this way. Saw the open garden at Clementi Mall. Terribly maintained and litters everywhere... -

Think if installing shower screen, it should be able to cover the holes on the wall. For me, overlay may be too costly. Btw, anyone removing the laundry rack in the service yard? My contractor told me that it is rather flimpsy (esp the thin string supporting the entire rack). Unlikely to last long if pull up pull down daily. Thinking of dismantling and then replace with the typicle ceiling holders with bamboo sticks. Simple, practical and everlasting. -
Not building any kerb to the shower area? Water may flow to rest of the toilet floor.

Thanks Mummy Ling for sharing your plan. I rem all other new flats in other estates have no access to service yard from common toilet. Casa clementi is the only one with such weird and ugly design. Guess sealing up the service yard door will not be cheap since need to tile it up. Can share what is the damage to the wallet just for sealing and tiling up this door? Thanks. -

I intend to dismantle the partition. But if dismantled, problems ahead are: 1) the PD doors will be see-through. You certainly do not want any one to look at you showering or doing your business fromservice yard. Need to find ways to conceal it. 2) Need to install another door to the toilet along the walkway. But may be too wide for wooden door. -

There will be a casa clementi completion cum mass key handover ceremony on 16 June. Many of those folks who had yet to collect their keys (mainly Blk 416) will be spared the hassle of travelling down to HDB Hub. Instead, keys will be presented by the PAP MP. -

Thanks for sharing. I also noticed that the design of common areas at Casa is really odd. 1) There isn't any proper covered walkways to link to the main road. Have to cut through the carpark. Will be quite dangerous when most residents start to move in and more cars expected then. 2) The narrow walkways near level 1 and 2 lift lobby and stair case could be dangerous late at night, with the dark and hidden blindspot/corners everywhere. Its like a maze. -

For those under SERS, gotta vacate current Ave 1 flat within 4 months from key collection. Time to start ID/contractor hunting. By the way, many of those contractors loittering at the carpark are quite persistent. Chased you down to the lift lobby in order to get you listening to their offers. :-( -

Pardon my ignorance. What 'falling incident'? Indeed heard from some neighbours that police have been called in lately due to some quarrels/fightings near new the rental blocks. Not surprise the new areas full of rubbish. It has been the same condition as at the current old blocks. -
