I am also interested. Lot of good stuff there.

Yes for mattress best to go in a shop and do a blind test. Later ask salesman about material used/cost. You will be surprised that body sometimes finds cheaper more comfortable. If you first listen to their marketing talk and then try a product, then you are brainwashed already.

Check their website for details http://www.ehongfurniture.com/

But I think cheaper chairs come at the cost of lower quality used. Chrome legs instead of stainless steel, poor quality leather etc. So a balance has to be found between cost and quality. Dont blindly buy the cheapest.

Indian Neigbours
bergkamp replied to DoubleJ's topic in Moving House: Packing, Storing, Moving To Your New House
Thats very true. I had these landed houses near my flat in Bendemeer, one of the houses served as a part time temple. So certain days/month it would get decorated and lots of ceremonies, buffet going on. Parking slots all full. Also had those Lion Dance troupe practicing in front. Super noisy. Really pity their next door neighbours. Being landed also no use. Have to learn to live with it. -
I would warn though that the sales guy at Furniture Mall outlet isnt so well informed(compared to Josephine). I checked with him whether they can do certain design in full leather and he said yes to everything. Josephine on the other hand warned that they could do in leather but it wont look the same as they will have to join together smaller pieces, not one big piece as available in PU demo model. So if you want good advise, do visit the Park Mall outlet. Although do go to other branches to check out different models on display.

Any fixed item cannot remove, as that is factored into valuation of flat. You can complain to HDB. Best if pic of the slab is in valuation report.

LCD or Plasma TV
bergkamp replied to sakae sushi's topic in Sound and Vision -Home Theatre Systems & Audiophiles
If budget is not a constraint, get a Pioneer Kuro while you can(no more production). Best flat TV ever made (till now atleast) For lesser budget, Samsung series 8 plasma also very nice. Super slim, can istake for a LED TV. -
I bought a 3 seater recliner. Liked the design very much. Only place seling the sleek design I like and at very reasonable price. Josephine at Park Mall gives good service. Look for her. Might get their dining table too. Quite value for money, considering the quality they give. The National day promo was 30% off on full leather sofas. Now its 20% off only(checked at Furniture Mall outlet on tuesday).

Sad to hear about your experience. I think the sales rep/supplier for OM would also be in trouble now. Build so many divans of wrong size. Someone will have to pay unless they manage to sell of to someone else !! Does OM have its factory in Singapore or all Malaysia/China imported ones?
-
I too like Karlstad. Am considering the two seater. Already got my 3 seater recliner from Cellini. 1500$ for full leather after 30% discount. Stockholm not really worth it. For that price got lots of other options.

I believe there was a topic in this forum about bad experiences with Silver River. It appears to have been removed by the mod. Normally that rings a warning bell. Still sometimes companies can get bad rep due to just one lousy salesman. Rest might be good. So you could buy from them if your really like the price and design, but be careful and get everything written in black and white before you commit..

Cant help much....but Ive been searching for a coffee table myself and havent seen this model at any of the big shops Om, Barang Barang, Cellini, Lorenzo, Mode , XZQT, Air, Castilla, Univonna.... So you can probably skip these in your search. You might want to check the catalogues of one of those HDB shops. They usually have lots of designs that are probably not in fashion, so not in display at any showroom.

Has anyone tried this company ? Their designs really nice and price reasonable. Could be affordable option for adding a designer piece of furniture in the living room !! But no showroom, only online order based on the tiny picture in catalogue. Are they even Singapore based or a China company with a .sg website?? Any inputs most welcome.
-
Their designs look nice. Anyone knows about the workmanship and cost?

I have seen people keep their sofa neary the lift lobby. Block the way somemore. Someone does remove them..although some remain there for a few days. Not the best practice I think.

My friend has a 7 year old Casa Italy full leather sofa. It was well maintained and still doing good structurally. The leather is all wrinkled up with age but looks okay. Its a cream colour set so the colour has become a bit dirty now. If you are planning to keep a sofa that long, i would advise on darker colours. I am also buying a leather sofa now, but not too impressed with Casa Italy designs which look a bit old fashioned. Otherwise quality I believe is quite decent for the price.

Navinci Leather Sofa @ Eunos Enterprise One

How is the quality of this sofa compared to other known brands like Lorenzo and Cellini ? -
Is the Great Singapore Sale really good? I am trying to figure if its worth buying furniture now 4 months in advance of moving into my new flat? If the discounts will appear again later in the year, then I would prefer buying later. Anyone who has seen the price trends in previous years can comment? Am looking specifically for leather sofa and dining set from places like Lorenzo, Cellini etc.

Here is a list of local furniture shop urls that I am using for reference.

Is it worth buying a sofa in advance during Great Singapore Sale period...even though I will be moving in to new house in November end? Can someone confirm if the sale prices available these days are much better than rest of the year. Havent been keeping track of sofa prices, so no idea if the current discounts are really worth it. Am looking for a sleek 3+2 full leather sofa.

better try getting online from places like www.allposters.com Can get it mounted here. Will be cheaper and have much more choice.
-
Have to be really careful when picking up items on sale. Its best if you have been tracking the price of an item before sale and notice an actual price drip. Lots of times they just hike the price by 50% and then put up banners of 50% OFF. For someone who has no knowledge of reference price, can get chopped easily.

Such stuff very hard to recommend based on picture. Dont know condition also. Go and have an audition and decide. To put it in perspective, for 600$ you can barely get a decent amplifier. So keep you expectations realistic. If you are happy with the sound and there is no damage to the gear, then can buy. For better sales of HT stuff, check out echoloft and xtremeplace.
