My window is supposed and agreed to be up on Friday. My tiler was waiting since thursday, as they need the window frames in the kitchen and toilet to be up before they can proceed with the wall tiles at the windows, and of cos the floor tiles after that. End up i wasted a day - that's friday, cos window wasn't there and my tiler say they can't do much tiling. Called the Wellmax office, say they don't know why the windows were not arranged to be installed, and mention mark wasn't in Sg. We told Wellmax, by hook or by crook, the frames need to be up by Sat, else my tiler will have to wait another day, and thats 3 days (fri, sat, mon) = alot of tiling can be done. So the lady over the phone helped us to arrange. She mentioned mark arranged installation of kitchen and 1 toilet. I have 2 toilets, obviously i need to get toilets x 2 and kitchen to be up first, and i remembered he was the one say, toilets and kitchen will be up, then now only 1 toilet. We told the lady, toilet windows same size, so just do one more and install for us, lucky she did. thanks to her. I'm still keeping my fingers crossed about the whole installation. Need to check with mark, if windows (frames + windows) should be up before whole house tiling, or after. Cos I can't risk to have only frames up, then when it rains heavy, I will have rain coming into my unit?

Day 9 of Reno my walls are finally hacked. - HDB approved on DAY 5 of reno. Now all hacking completed, can start tiling le. went to check yesterday evening, wall tiles of kitchen are in the midst of tiling. window frames for toilets and kitchen will be up by tomorrow, so that the tiler can complete the tiling of kitchen and toilets, hopefully by this week. somehow, feels that the progress is slow. but when i went to see the tiling of the walls yesterday, so far i give 10/10. hopefully they wont disappoint me. will be going down to confirm how i want the toilets to be laid in the afternoon.

my mum said tat too. 1 room cannot have 2 doors when i told her i will be doing a WIW and putting as partition with a door. Then i ask her, but, isn't it same as toilet door? oso 2 doors in a room. haha..she say tats different.

I remembered loving the kitchen. Even told my hubby that the kitchen allows one to have an island top. but hubby din like the layout as he prefers a squarish living hall, and not close to another block.

Today met up with a salesperson from Wellmax. WOW the price is cheaper than the one from my contractor. Really thanks to this forum that I know of Wellmax..else really kena chopped. hope all will go on swee swee and smooth smooth

need some help on curtains and roller blinds. We're quoted the following: 2 sets of blackout roller blind (bedroom 2 and 3) 1 set of normal roller blind (kitchen) 1 set of Day and Night curtains (for 4 casement window - full length) 1 set of blackout Night curtain (for 2 casement window - full length) 1 set of Roman blind (1 casement window - aircon area) includes the tracks and the robes for curtains. Quoted $1800 I understand that the type of materials we chose also determine the pricing. but on average, 1.8k isit ex?

yeah...that view is great..... we din choose there cos the COV high and valuation also high. but the layout rather condo style. facing the field is good. If im not wrong, rest of the blocks are rather near to each other...can really see what the next block is doing if they have no curtains...lolz

could it be the agent don't trust that you will give her at the end of the 2nd payment? no offence... for my case, my agent told us beforehand that we can pay him after we got our sales proceed from the contra i.e after 2nd appt. And even after the 2nd appt, the agent did not ask for the payment from us straight away cos he understands that time is needed for cheque to clear. And when our cheques clears, the agent did not even come calling us. in fact hubby and I are the ones asking the agent when he wanna meet us. I think it is the trust you have with your agent. My agent paid the valuation report and other payments upfront, then we paid him when we meet him. Even on ocassions when we forgot about paying him, he also will not push for the payment. I guess he trusted us bah. IMO, after the 1st appt, you also wont need much help from the agent le. unless you have seller who is out to make things difficult for you. Since that was the agreement you had with her to pay at 1st appt, then no point sour the matter over money.

yah found le. shortlisted a few. so finally decided on one last week. and everything chop chop. that window uncle is recommended by the contractor. for White powdered coat + blue glass = 3.2k. also got a big shock when i receive the lighting quotations. still considering want to do re-wiring anot. the diff in the price about 1k so many light points. about 33 points....really ex sial....

Day 04 of Reno today. Some pictures taken yesterday - Day 03 Back of the Homogeneous tiles for living room and bedrooms Store room shelves left behind by previous owner. Condition is good...so keep. the floor tiles also keep to save $ This is the small area for my wardrobe....pathetically small

painting is normally done before carpentry and aircon is up (but aircon trunking must be up, so that you can paint the trunking). so that there's lesser obstructions around, and also, we are able to pint those walls where the built in aircon and carpentry will be painting after can also be done. Just that when painting, you must make sure you cover the carpentry and furnishing well, incase any paint drips on them. Years down the road, people will change house colour, so not an issue, just that nmore troublesome. False ceiling can just be painted as well. My last house, we did our own painting. Told the contractor give us 3 days to paint the house before they install the aircon and carpentry. hope this helps.

Hacking starts today. All wall and floor tiles hacked. All built in cabinets hacked. Now waiting for HDB to approve to have 2 walls hacked. Anyone change windows and have quotes? I like the big kitchen entrance too! but read in some fengshui book, big entrance no good leh. Also not sure what i can do with that big entrance.

oh....but we are going to remove it. wanted to do false ceiling. my mum saw the cornices say so old fashioned le, ask if I'm going to keep it. :Dhahaha but hor, the cornices really looks good, well-maintained
