  1. I agree with you, less area to mop and no spiderwebs underneath. Anyway I wanted a suspended kitchen cabinet initally. but, I also love to have a big drawer to place my pots, pans, and bowls. Hence my contractor advised that having a suspended one, I cant have a big drawer with heavy stuff, else will warp in near future. So to playsafe, and not knowing how many years i'm going to stay in this house, I gave up the idea of having a suspended one. Also, the pro is, I have more storage space which although I dun cook often, but somehow, just have alot to store.
  2. for our case, my contractor told us that if there's leaking of the pipes, then we may have to tear down all the boxup and tiles. so waste money. hence after some brainwashing, we just boxup and paint the "boxup" never do tiling. And the boxup material, my contractor said he used the one that is waterproof one. But after looking at yours, boxup and tiled up really nice nice sial....
  3. hi, very unique wallpaper selection you have. how much you pay for the wall paper? your contractor supplied it?
  4. From what I understand, if the stove and sink is too close, people in the household tend to fall sick, especially the lady owner. If I'm not wrong a 60cm gap should be sufficient. My last flat, my the distance between the 2 was about 45cm, my FS say no wonder i kept falling sick. So this time round, I really put the sink "far far" away. =)
  5. plasma is also more soothing for eyes. I can't sit in front of a LCD tv for long.
  6. hi, would like to check how much your ID charge for supplying and installing Legrand switches? My ID quoted us $20 per switch, be it light switch or power point socket, or telephone socket, as long it is WHITE, it will be $20 per switch. Find it kinda of ex... please advise. thanks
  7. Saw the original condition of the house. the one I bought was a better condition, however same sentiment as you, all have to go, cos nothing I wish to keep. But eventually we only kept one thing - i.e the tiles in the storeroom and the metal shelving from previous owner. initially wanted to hack the tiles in the storeroom, but thinking that no one will bother to go in and see, and we probably have so much junks and boxes in it, that no one will notice what tile is in the storeroom. Hence kept the original condition. But the rest of the tiles, hack hack hack. of cos the happy person will be our contractors. more hacking = more money into their pockets. but half-way through the reno now, I'm glad all the "ugly stuffs" are gone, cos it is really a makeover. Looking forward to see more pictures of your MAKEOVER!!!!
  8. Yeah good choice. Classic is good. Workmanship..so far the best I've seen. But they quoted me quite high, and I'm already spending alot, so this house no Classic kitchen =( till now, I was telling my hb, I still miss my "Made By Classic" Kitchen
  9. Your door very nice Can I ask, if yours is a fixed panel + a sliding door, or both panel can be slide? How much is your door?
  10. can someone advise me? I'm installing a fix tempered glass panel and a sliding OR casement glass door for my kitchen. I can't decide which is a better choice. If sliding door, I'm worried it will one day go out of track and fall? If casement, when open takes up space. Which looks nicer?
  11. who is your kitchen specialist? I used to engage Classic, and kinda regret not engaging them this round for my kitchen cabinet. workmanship...cannot fight but price wise, & of cos kithen specialist EX.... haiz
  12. can ask...whats your plan for the kitchen entrance? you see...i have a big kitchen entrance, so intend to do up tempered glass, but cant decide if i want a casement door or a sliding one....
  13. Now everything look spacious. Sometimes I wonder how HDB decide if a PE is needed to endorse the hacking. In my case, I hacked the wall between my living room and one of the bedroom, and another is the wall joining 2 toilets. No PE was required, when initally my contractor was worried that the toilet wall, probably need a PE. but nonetheless, all went well, and happy renovating =)
  14. hi can share where you get the above set from? how much? Love the orange.
  15. Mr Yeak doesn't sound very friendly in his reply. Pictures don't lie. In the first place, he gets so many clients - all from words of mouth in forum. And here is also where you guys know about his existence. I'm sure he knows whatever good or bad about him will be reflected in the forum right from the start. he doesn't pay any of you advertising fee, so who says only good things of him can be mentioned here? I feel that, by deleting what happened between you guys and yeak, its just covering up for him. In future, those who visit this forum, and wants to engage yeak, will only get to read the good things, and nothing on the negative side. hope you will reconsider about closing this thread. you don't own him anything. He has no say at all even if you choose to post all the TRUE Negative stuffs about your reno. Cheer up.
  16. Went up to my house this morning to wait for Wellmax to come fix my gate and 2 window panes in toilets. Confirmed with them the installation will be 9.30am. We were there at 9.15am. Waited all the way till 10.40am then they reach. Not a single call from them to inform us that they will be late. THIS IS NOT THE 1ST TIME. the last time told us 10am. End up reaching at 11.30am. Again, that time, they did not even bother to inform us. Each time we call to ask the office, why their men not here yet? and their answer will be reaching soon le. Don't you guys think that such service is intolerable? hb and I was very unhappy, face black till my ID-projecting our carpentry, dare not even talk to us. Anyway, we are glad, the gate and window panes were finally installed, and we WILL NEVER EVER have anything got to with them EVER AGAIN. And definitely will not introduce them to my relatives or friends. Today ID was there with her workers. Initially thought she was there just to go through wiring with her electrician. However, to our surprise, she actually got her guys to do the electric after we went through, and also the false ceiling materials were delivered. Even my toilet pipings box up this morning. hopefully all went well, and no hiccups. **touchwood** Will pop by my place on Tuesday, cos she mentioned my toilet sanitaries will be delivered, so i guess will also be installed? And my induction hob will be delivered too. Cant wait to see them!!! Will post pictures once the false ceiling and kitchen is all up.
  17. Updates Piping of Hot and Cold Pipe done. Whole house Floor and Wall Tiles all completed. Very satisfied with this contractor doing the wet work. Workmanship is good. No complains. Anything hacked or drilled, was well mended. Can say the workers have initiative lor. We din go check on every tiles...pick and test a few, no hollows sound. hopefully all went well. Now the house is handed over to the person doing carpentry work. Week 17-22 Aug Kitchen will be up. Toilet and kitchen accessories will be delivered and installed. Electrical wires and points will also be done, but lightings will be up at later stage. False ceiling will also be ready by next week. Closet Design will come and take measurements for the wardrobe in the MBR once the false ceiling are installed. Painting of the wall also this week. Week 24-29 Aug TV wall feature and console will be installed. My 50" TV will be delivered and installed. Partition wall at the balcony area will also be up. Aircons will also be up.

Hopefully all went well and end all the ding dongs with wellmax. And definitely not going to recommend wellmax to anyone. Thought he reads the forum? Doesn't he know that words spread?
