Unprofessional Housing Agents
sfhuang replied to danngkb's topic in HDB New/Resale Flats, Executive Condominiums
It sounds like your rant is about these agents not acting in the BUYER's (aka. your) interest, no? -
If you do not intend to use the furniture for more than 5 years, IKEA in general is okay.

Please Help-exclusive Agreement Valid Or Invalid
sfhuang replied to sunset.dolphin's topic in Rent/Sell Properties
Once any of the owners have signed the exclusive agreement, the owners will have to honor it. It's a legal contract. You cannot look for another agent until the agreed timeframe is over. For your other question, the amount of cash you can take back is the sales proceeds minus (1) the amount you withdrew from cpf (with accrued interest) to pay for the loan and (2) other expenses e.g. loan settlement penalties if any. -

I've had the same experience, but with a different shop. Heart pain wallet pain. -
Anyone bought lights from "Light Advance" near Geylang Lor 41 before?
-
I paid my agent after the first appointment. In my case, I did so because the agent was not willing to give in (to my request to pay at the second appointment) and I didn't want him to turn sour and "sabotage" the sale. Truth be told, I was at the agent's mercy.

Personally, I find it easier to discuss in person with the ID/contractor before they come up with the quotation. To each his own, I guess. -
Designers Or Salesman?!
sfhuang replied to renault's topic in Renovation Contractors, Interior Designers & Suppliers Reviews
You can't really fault the IDs for lack of creativity in the designs that materialize in real-life. I am sure some of the IDs have really unique and creative propositions, but at the end of the day, will people fork out money to fulfill those IDs' creative aspirations? Hard to say, right? -
nicely done reno. Can you PM me the contractor details and how much you paid? Thanks!
