I am calling liao, but realised hor that uncle will only come when he is very paisei.... wonder if you guys have the same feeling hahahaha.... OMG 10 hours!!! Hmmmm... You really very patient!!! Pei fu pei fu!!!! Mus Pai Ni Wei Shi hahahaha.... It is okay, it makes our lives more interesting!!!!

Hi all!!! These are the photos of my place post-hacking!!! Ivy, Uncle flew my aeroplane again on Sat!!!! I think he will only start on Mon, sigh!!!

trust me, my HDB contractor, cos he is doing reno work for all the upgrading works in toa payoh central, also took 1 week + to do the hacking!!! And you can see the terrible result man! I think both me and your hubby can do better seriously!!! Actually, i find that for many contractors right, sometimes they only leave 1 or 2 workers behind to do work, (apparently this is the norm from my past 2 contractor's experience) and also they may not work for several to 1 or 1week +. We will have to be mentally prepared! Uncle just told me that he is starting work at my place tml!!!! Dunno got shadow or not!??!?!

Yo! Eh the problem is that I got one friend to design for me, but since I am not using his contractor, he says I cant use his design (if not will sue!!!! ) Thus, although i have swee swee drawings, I cant show anyone cos I need to change the designs to my own style hahaha... Not sure if there's any software that i can use to do so wor.... any suggestions?!??!

Hi Jess! My house is not hacked by uncle's workers! It is hacked by the HDB contractors who are currently upgrading the blocks in toa payoh central! And yes, your damage seems greater! Uncle says his workers are better trained and so i was shocked when i saw your place!!! Instead he said my HDB contractor's workers were poorly trained, but seeing the results of your house, hmmm... I am not so sure liao... BUt Ivy said he jus changed home team?!?! maybe workers also changed!?!??! that's why like tat!!! I think we have to monitor his workers closer!!! And Uncle called me just now in the afternoon on his own accord! Power...

Hi Jesslyn, Uncle told me that he is starting work yesterday for my place, but he has yet to do anything! I think he is really very very busy and have too many projects on hand!!!

Hey Ivy, Actually hor, Uncle is a bit scary cos he flew my aeroplanes many times, some more suppose to start work today, havent yet! I think he will only start next week!!! I took uncle cos I was too lazy to contact Jason, and I wasn't sure how good Jase is! One of the IDs actually ran Uncle close, but my budget dun allow me to take that ID! Uncle's quote is reasonable! Not cheap! And yes I am getting Ah Wei to do the carpentry work, but then hor I am omitting the archs cos Ah Wei overcharge me for them!!!! He quoted higher than 4 other IDs, i was like WTF!??!?! So in the end, I decided to forgo the arch and do wall paper instead hahahaha!!!! Hmmmm, seriously if anyone wanna use uncle, can also ask Yeak or Jase to give quotes, heard that they are quite competitive too wor!!!! My place is at TPY Central, next to library haha!!!! And yes the toilet can really bring back many memories from the 70s/80s!!!! Somehow, cos everyone's using the feet and inches, I also found myself using that to measure rather than the metric system!!!! Hi coffee! I think most 70s/60s HDB has this layout?!?! No?!?! My last flat in TPY Central too has this layout! And yes, I have actually hacked the wall between the toilet and bathroom, but it did not make it bigger as expected cos there is still a small wall between them!!! BUt i have already hacked it, so bo pian liao!!! Hi Black! Actually most of it is self design one, so hmmmm... anyway, i think my reno is really a first for uncle, cos i got 2 different quotes, 1 from uncle and another from Ah Wei! According to Uncle, my carpentry is so complicated that he just asked me to get a quote from Ah Wei, and as you can imagine, Ah Wei was not happy about it at all!!!

According to uncle, the HDB contractor used cheap labour so they are not so skilled. Apparently, they used a sharp drill to hack the walls resulting in so many holes! Also, my place is old, so a lot of hollow blocks are used to build the house, thus when they hack, more holes!!!! Hi pink!!! It is Uncle Soon, but he is really very busy and he flew my aeroplanes many times! None the less, i managed to sign with him, now waiting for him to start work hee... How's have you been? Yup, that is why i got an older flat! The new ones opposite my place costs >500k and are smaller than my current house! But that said, the toilet is really small and I am trying to make it more spacious! Hi Plan, if you wanna check out my place to see uncle's work, feel free to do so I tot so too, especially as Jesslyn's Hubby did a good job hacking too, I tot anyone can do liao! But apparently, Uncle says that ONLY those experienced workers can hack the walls properly without tearing down the whole house!!! I was rather shocked at the way the HDB contractor hacked my place as they were appointed by HDB and i tot that our govt got some standard. But judging from this, sometimes, HDB also fail QC, no wonder they dun dare to apply for ISO!!!! Sure fail!!!!

As my block is currently undergoing HDB toilet upgrading, I decided to use the current HDB contractor to do the hacking! trust me, It was a BAD decision. These are the hacking pics: Anyhow, Uncle has said that he will help me to make the walls better, but they will be a bit hollow!!! Sigh, what to do man!!! The wall in the second pic is so ****ing flimsy that UNcle said that he can jus karate kick and the whole wall will collapse! As for the stupid kitchen walls in the 4th pic, the holes are so deep that uncle commented that if he drilled any deeper, we can jus walk through to my neighbour's house!!!!

Exactly!!! I was like what the ****!!!! The toilet is so small that my fat *** has problems fitting into the doorway man!!! I was like what's wrong with the 70's buildings man! But for the price I am paying and the location, I have no complaints hahaha!!!!

Before I appointed Uncle as my contractor, I went through several other contractors. These are my experiences and comments about them: ***** - Overcharge and Bad Design. For what they are charging, I expected better seriously. City Design - Very honest and reliable. Gave me many good ideas and service was excellent. Earnest Interior - Very honest and has 100% integrity in pricing. fair and reasonable, good service and advice given too. The rest of the IDs did not reply (I guess my house is jus too complicated lah!!!) These are the pics of my place before I took over: From the pics you can see how 70's the place is and seriously, I have NO IDEA how the previous owners stayed here!!! The toilet door is corrugated iron, can you believe that? And 2 weeks ago, when my previous owner really came over to take back his old water heater that they have used for 10 years to reuse in their new place, i almost fainted!!!

Storage Tank?!?! Tot the pressure should be better with storage tank? I told Ah Wei my budget, and he said he will email me his quote on tues?!?! I also asked him to get back to uncle with the quote cos uncle say he is trying to get his quote out! Also need his English quote to borrow money!

Eh, See if uncle can add the door!!! Should not be difficult hee!!!! Are you using storage tank heater or jus instant?!?!?

Always tot that moving house time = super big spring cleaning and garbage clearing time!!! Perhaps now is the time to throw away most of those old stuffs that we have no use for but always wanna keep them for a "rainy" day! Or can sell to garang guni!??!?
