  1. Bro, I have the similar situation and I am cracking my head. I think in ur case, it is not as straight forward as using the telephone wire as "threading assistance" to thread it through... Cos if successful, u are cool. If not, u will be in deep s*it Mine is no better. Because my reno wall tiling n ceiling are up liao. And the best part is previous owner didnt take up ON's offer of "bringing in" the fibre. So now I gotta spend 200+ to get it done. I am contemplating to use Homeplugs such as Aztech, D-Link etc to solve my problems as they make us of electrical wires. To make matter worse, I not only need internet signal, I also need to have the mio TV signal. So if my "experiment" gets me internet, its only half problem solved. hahaha cos still got mio TV, dunno can or not. So I will have to talk to technical people to understand further
  2. At 1300, it MUST be perfect and not near perfect
  3. ask ur ID to quote if u wanna fabricate. then also shop around for "off-the-shelf". by doing so, u can compare lor.
  4. Monk, Maybe it could be due to the things that u want to do. My advice is to AT LEAST have an idea of what you want. List them down then u can blast that lists to a handful of IDs and contractors. From there, u will have a "feel" of the average price and u can then move from there.
  5. For cable cost, iirc it is something like $35 for 5m. Best is double check at openet website. How much cable needed, only u will know right? Cos if u wanna run up n down all over, then obviously u gonna need more right? For the fibre package, best is talk to telcos n see what suits u best. From the way u ask ur question, it is obvious Thursday u dunno what u want. So it'll be difficult to advice u.
  6. Personally bro, this would be considered wear n tear. Unless it came with lifetime warranty against rust, then its a different story.
  7. To what I know..yes, as long as its not a big hole. Holes like nail or screw holes, they Will putty over to smoothen the surface before painting.
  8. Yeah... no standard, only typical. If u want to build it 1m also can mine is 450mm because i have small bathroom
  9. Yeah something like that. Because tiling is wet works, so that will have to be done up 1st. If u r hacking walls or tiles away, it makes more economical sense to not tile up behind the kitchen cabinet. This is because u may never live to see that wall again
  10. Congrats n wish u a smooth reno too! Contractor, only IF u have VERY flexible working hours, can keep answering phone calls while at work, taking time off to go site for checks n verifications etc. Else spend a bit more, go with ID. Remember, since u already pay COV n price to buy the house, what's another few grand rite?
  11. Looks like ur reno is getting on nicely sista.. Congrats! Yes, no matter, owners shld always check on the progress. Like my case, just on Fri, the dimension of my kids platform were too long. Over by 15cm! So quickly told my ID as well as the carpenters who were on site. Can u imagine how tedious it will be once they are being glued and hammered into place.. *phew*
  12. There's no hard and fast rule when it comes to meeting ID n such. Do as you deem fit. U said it yourself, meet 1 ID per month. That is only if u r meeting them once, if u meet a few IDs a few times, u may even wanna start now. But then u have to ask yourself this question, if u are an ID yourself, will you be able to guarantee material, labour costs etc in 1-2 years time? Depending on what reno u plan to do, if it is only a 100K vs 10K job, the level of attention may be different. Good luck in your hunt
  13. CASE is proly ur best bet bro.. good luck. Hope all turns out well. But hor, just curious, how come that director can just go ur place, dismantle the doors and then remove them from YOUR PLACE??
  14. My advice... go to any Home-Fix store and pick up a Nippon 2013 catalogue. I did that and it gave me a very good idea and visualization. Chose my colors from there and painting is in progress in my new place now. Last checked this evening and it is almost 100% done Good luck my friend; and have fun!
  15. To what I know and learnt from my ID, even putting a simple Poly-Carbonate plastic sheet also need PE endorsement. This is because it is not as simple as it seems. 1) They have to dig a "trench" into the structural wall. This is to let the PC sheet "sit" into it. 2) Then apply water-proofing material in the "trench" 3) Install the PC sheet into the "trench". 4) Water proof again. 5) Silicone over to protect the water-proofing. It is step 1, which is critical as the work touches the structure. And in order not to let patio owner A do method A and B do method B and so on, MCST will want to have control and final say on how should the work be done and so on.. Like what we learn in army lor. Everything must standardise... cannot anyhow come... most important, it is for SAFETY
  16. Personally, if 1 can afford >50K COV, they are better off going private. No such thing as COV la, quota la, and cannot sell within how may years la and bla bla bla....
  17. Plus all major items like our Samsung fridge TV for MBR (which is FOC gift from our fridge purchase ) Sofa... Dining table... MBR bed frame...
  18. Today, carpentry also had arrived and our reno will be going into full speed for the coming 1.5 weeks... Painters doing their detailing...
  19. And yes, it u'd noticed by now, the cornices were also up... 1st "prey" here will be a Crestar Windsor Black fan which will hang down by 1 feet, due to 11-feet of ceiling that we have
  20. Also, patio area had been over-layed Pop goes the champagne... my wife's beloved car counter with bling bling tiles still works-in-progress because the full suspended bar counter w LED light strips yet to be installed. Some spiders laid their nests too.... Waiting to catch their "preys"
  21. Been too busy with work to update here that often. Again, fast forward a few weeks, here are some progress: Our TV "feature wall" (literally, because we went for tiling. YES, we tile up the entire wall instead of the conventional wooden feature wall whereby you will hide your cables n such behind. and the TV console that will go with this "feature wall" + our 60" Samsung Series 8 Plasma aka Angry Bird TV
  22. Hi pocky, The best is to approach your condo's management office and check with them and they will advice you from there. Good luck bro
  23. Personally, if u feel that it is exp, just get another to quote and move on... What's the point of "crying over sour milk" right? Cos nobody force u to sign also mar...
