  1. So sorry to hear your case sista. I suggest that u contact CASE and have a chat with them on how can they help u or at least get some in sights on what are your legal rights and entitlement, in case the situation turns ugly. But of course, whilst talking to CASE and understand what are your rights etc, day and time will still pass. And if u really need to find a temporary place to stay because u have to move out and u cannot move into ur new place yet, drop me a pm. Cos my current rented condo can do short-term like 1 month. PS: I am not property agent or whatsoever; just offering help to fellow forumer.
  2. Interesting reas... being in the specialty chemical sales trade for >10years and I must agree that the article does hold some truth. However, as with all chemicals, it is better to test it out before venturing into the unknown. Meaning to say that would you use bleach immediately on your beloved dress/ suit without testing it out on cheaper or less loved garment? Same theory applies here.. Coming back to your question, I'd used black galaxy previously and have no complaints. Did not have any dis-coloration or whatsoever as a result of cleaning my kitchen top using JIF and other kitchen top cleaner products out there in the super-market. Not sure about the Indian Black though. I am also not aware of the different countries or quality of granite because it never occurred to me that there will be a difference in performance when put to daily use. Hence I cannot comment much. But about engaging another company to do up ur kitchen, let's just say that it is YOUR kitchen and u can decide ultimately on who to award the job to. Just explore the pros n cons before making ur decision. All da best in ur reno sista!
  3. MCST will ask you to dismantle it.. else the authorities will come after u, assuming BCA have not approved it.
  4. All the best to ur reno bro.. Get ID if u dun have time to co-ordinate.. if ur work allows u to take time off easily, walking in n out answering phone calls etc, then go for contractor..
  5. Willing to let go both bikes @ $80? Cos the condition doesn't look very good from e pics. At least the tyre and rusty front on blue bike needs some work. Drop me a pm if u r keen. Thanks.
  6. Yes u can engage as many as u want. It is your own home afterall. However be VERY careful on the fine prints on what is included and what is not. Anything u r not sure, better ask and clarify. Good luck n have fun in ur reno
  7. Willing to let go at $200? Deal over for this weekend only. Thanks.
  8. If u like then go ahead lor. Cos end of e day, it is u who will be paying for it

    Curtains Help

    1 jump all jump... haha
  10. Well, then rent condo n u dun have such problems lor.. I know of people sublet their HDB, top up a bit n rent condo.. idea rite? Haha
  11. Yup.. bottom line is that if u have the time n effort, go ahead to engage ur own contractor n project manage it on ur own.
  12. I'd say it is more of the adhesion is not as good as compare to wall surface. Reason being that wall paper is being glued on. So laminate's surface being 'smooth' to a certain extent, will cause peeling after sometime. Alternatively u can consider wall mural aka stickers. At least it's a sticky adhesive n chances of peeling will be lower. But still possible to peel off after a short while. How short? I also cannot estimate. Good luck To
  13. Just ask yourself whether do u REALLY need it? Or u just wanna be 1 amongst the many?
  14. Hi loly, personally, it's impossible for ur job to be within 40K. I m not ID or in this business. I'd estimate it to be 50-60K. My advice will be that u check out at least 3-5 for quotes. If one is way off, then u knw tat one cannot take. Reason being that cost of materials is more or less there. So don't be penny wise pound foolish. Always bear in mind that u cannot compare HDB with condo; in that how come HDB have this n that n build this n that only 20-30K and condo cost so much.. Good luck my friend
  15. there is magicseal.com.sg I m in no way related to them. Just considering to pay them a visit next year to understand it better.
  16. If you have time, go w contractor. Else, ID maybe a wiser choice. Price is something, BUT not everything. So............
  17. Looks like all that glitters is not gold after all. Wish u all the best sister.. Regarding the Legrand switches, I think it should be cheaper at Choo Chiang. No harming comparing.
  18. For me, I leave it in e mail box. Cos if e owner is smart, they will keep the LB keys. At least I do. So I will go back to open once awhile..
  19. That's 1 of the downside of getting contractors vs ID, as (from my point of view) they aren't as professional.... Anyway hope everything will turn out smooth for u sista! Always look on the bright side of life...
  20. Bro I think maybe cheaper to DIY cos u only have 1 door. If u prefer to get installer, u can give my friend, Danny, a call at 927 1 to 1 zero 1.. Good luck..
  21. If u r talking abt door frame n not door, then I dun think can do veneer lamination. Cos even if can, I'm sure it'll pop up after sometime. Probably the best way is to putty n 're-varnish' it to get a similar tone as ur door. Good luck..
  22. If u have the time to coordinate, then u can go individual.. Else go w an ID will be more convenient.. U can ask yourself this, if today u r selling ur services to an ID firm, will u sell cheaper? Then a walk in customer call in, will u still sell same price or more ex?
  23. what happens for the above pic is that basically we'd decided to hack away the previous bathtub and convert it into a sunken bath. Here's the "after" results: bought this intricate floor trap from wholesale-faucet.com while I was in China for business trip few weeks back. Turns out swee swee
  24. Day 2 and the "army ants" continue to work......... leaving nothing behind.... and no corner untouched
