it's all about infrastructure...starhub uses coaxial for its content, which includes tv & maxonline broadband. singnet uses rj11 / telephone for its ADSL broadband ,which is just copper wiring. now its pumping tv media content via the same line (thats why you need a telephone point near your TV if you want MIO). so in a nutshell, how does traffic jam affect a 2 lane road as opposed to a 4 lane road? do the math.... this whole fiasco abt EPL is only about who wins the deal & passing the cost back to the customers, I am a sports-fan but not enough to end up buying 2 set-top boxes. MDA should have been more aggressive in coming in with a universal media so that we as end-users only need to worry about the content. that been said i'll just wait it out till they do so. & with opennet coming into the scene with fibre optics for broadband, i can now just depend on 1 provider for tv content & another for internet.

i think i'm beginning to, so since the water is heated as it passes though the piping (gas heated), i assume the "shower experience" would be like Instant heater where the max temp is only 45deg C, whereas for storage you can get it up to 60deg C, im not saying that i want to scald myself, but the option is there

Hi, I would appreciate some feedback on what is the main difference between the above? If I understand correctly the Citygas heater is NOT storage based, so it is exactly like the Electric Instant water heater, meaning there is low pressure & I will not get the pressure I will get from a storage based heater? But then again, Instant heaters do not use cold / hot water pipes, but this Citygas does. So is it like a hybrid hot/cold water minus the storage requirement? Also for a 5L model, it heats 5l at a time? How hot can the water be if its "in-line" heating as opposed to "out-of band" heating like water storage. Also there were some rumors that the gas heater is really hot (not the temperature of the water but generated heat from the equipment), if I intend to use it I will probably mount it on the kitchen wall above my washing machine, but really how hot is hot? There's really not much info out there on the user experience on the gas water heater as opposed to the gas cooking... :hmm:

Poll For Cov Paid (2009)
titanax replied to cacabi111's topic in HDB New/Resale Flats, Executive Condominiums
yeah I know...but its one of the more "sane" prices I came across, so other COV requests for EMs were sheer ridiculous. My monthly installments are manageable, since I am selling off my 4rm... -

The above has always been a big problem for me. I am planning for non floating console, maybe I could get some ideas from the fellow forum-ers for a practicle design? 1. LCD TV on base stand - no wall mounts as it tend to tilt forward & all the cables are behind 2. It needs to be airy for the following devices: - 1. RECEIVER AMPLIFIER - 2. DVD PLAYER - 3. STARHUB SET-TOP BOX - 4. PS3 My current design does not allow heat to escape & its a real concern too. All those mid hanging consoles are really nice to look at, but not practical. Only a HI-FI enthusiast will understand

Quick-step Laminate Flooring
titanax replied to khengjoo's topic in Ceiling, Walls and Flooring Works
They are not new, just not marketed aggressively thats all, I'm got my QUICK-STEP UNICLIC flooring 7 yrs ago, still looks good now, no warps,no dings, no damages, even after many occasions of spills. Their main sell back then was they were they only laminate that had a patented glueless click design, which was true. Even Pergo didn't have it back then & back then it was 10 years warranty, which means I'm still covered for another 3 yrs Now almost all laminates got "click" system. I think the brand is QUICK-STEP & the technology is UNICLIC,Power Deko also has an agreement with UNICLIC to incorporate their patent in its designs. How much is it going for now? I got it for $5.20 psf & that was their expo price back in 2003, PORZIA was the name of the company. I don't even know if the company is still around - which is another important thing to consider, what's the point if the warranty is 20yrs when the company folds in 5 right? Not like the warranty is transferable food for thought! On a lighter note, for a really good laminate product their name really sucks "QUICK-STEP UNICLIC" so unglam! - sounds like a ladder brand! I guess that explains the under the radar marketing but don't let that fool you, its pretty robust & I got no complaints so far... -
thank you for the blessings forgotten , i won't be looking at EMs, only EAs. Im not too fanciful on climbing up and down the stairs every 10 mins & I'm a bit paranoid when it involves my old folks or a really young kid. But that's my personal preference & no offense to the EM bros & sis here I have also looked at the prices offered at Bishan St 22 to 24 areas, COV is quite high & its all EMs so far, no EA offers. Does anyone know what is the deal with this area & why it is more ex than the rest of the Bishan estate? The most common sell I see is "near to RI" but if you use Google Map to calculate distance, St 11 & St 12 is definitely much near. Maybe there are some nightlife activity being planned at Bishan Park machan a small scale Clark Quay, maybe?

err...you're not just saying this because of that moron who is in the papers right?? 5k oso don't wana budge...he really rocked the boat for sincere buyers who are looking to buy in Bishan area.. on 2nd thoughts, i shouldn't be hasty in calling him a moron..if ppl are willing to pay 100k COV, who am I to comment on his sanity...

Dual Ethnic Seller
titanax replied to azman79's topic in HDB New/Resale Flats, Executive Condominiums
anyone knows if for dual ethnicity, it is possible to switch halfway during occupancy? meaning if husband is Indian can change to wife's Chinese when the block's quota for Chinese is available?
