One reason for this mold growth is because Ikea's products are build mainly for the European markets, where the weather isn't as humid as ours right here. Hence it is very easy for the growth of mold and dew on their wooden products.

This Beng Tuan place, I got a bad experience there! Went down there to check out their dining table which was advertised in the papers. As we couldn't find it we approached one of the salesman. He doesn't seem to know where is it and dare to hastily tell us "that's the one at the corner lor". I told him the picture and price are different but he pointed at some fine print on the newspaper advert and said "Picture for illustration only". Then he proceeded to calculate the the price with GST and so-called delivery charges which the final cost is still lower than the advertised price and INSISTED that is the correct one! What nonsense! We walked away right away after that.

I also frequent Ikea quite regularly. Got their BESTA series of cabinets for my book shelves and storage solutions. Now actually selling off the sofa I bought from them some years back as I've gotten a bigger one for my living room. The wooden sofa frame is still good and going strong. Generally I think Ikea has some very good and nice designs and the customisable of some of their furniture series makes them an attractive choice. However, whether it lasts or not, it will depend on how you use them.

Well I am NOT into painting but it was BB's idea since she loves to paint! But I can tell you hor... this is our last time painting our own house! Hahaha... shagged ah!

Hi mmj, thanks! However it wasn't our contractor who designed our place. He only helped us to realise our ideas. We actually even painted all the walls on our own. So it's up to your own ideas how you want to do it and get a contractor to implement them, unless you wanna engage an ID (who should design and plan everything to your liking). If you still like to have my contractor's contact, do let me know.

Wah such a tall bed frame? The mirror console is very pretty! It makes your living room looks bigger. Must have costs a lot!
