Not really cos I don't actually open my windows much yet due to the dust in the area. And we have the blinds and curtains there so the natural airflow is not as good as we hope for now. The ceiling fans are really effective on its own, compared to those wall-mounted fans I have been using in the past.

Sounds bad! If this gets reported to NEA, the stall sure kanna one.
-
Sure sure! Eh Elane you thought we're opening Fernvale Club ah?

There are some very good blogs here in renotalk.com. Some folks are really meticulous and track their renovation progress from start to end, with lots of photos and details. We also gathered some good advice and tips from here.

Yes, highest level. This side (facing carpark) of my block, 2 units are already occupied with the other one moving in soon. Our's not the unit on the right side.
-
It will be well, just need to confirm and be clear with what you want for the renovations and inform your ID. Also spend a bit of time to check on their progress. Be firm on things but also give-and-take at times. Oh we did that too, a little WIW for us that eats into the next room which serves as my study room. Our flat faces inside towards the carpark but can see 438A clearly!

I guess it's the power consumption thing then. I read about it in the HDB guidelines. Well, installing a good ceiling fan in your living room can be very cooling as well. Mine's was remarkably cool, strong and windy. Even the smaller one in my bedroom is good.

You mean HDB don't allow you to install a system 4 aircon?
-
Yah, your BIG EYEs caught my attention! Me from 439A. Once your reno starts, things will really pick up! You're hacking the wall to do your wardrobe?
-
Hehe, thanks for following my blog! Which block you're from? Your renovations starting?
-
It's not that much of a hassle to replace the batteries. Mine's just need to remove the cover (no screws) and change the batteries. Using electrical ones are more troublesome cos of the need to connect the wires and therefore additional (ugly) trunking running across the wall. That would mean you'll need to get your electrician to do it for you.

Thanks BigEyeGal! Your nick looks familiar. You're also at the sengkang forum right?

Haha sure, come visit next time if you don't mind our humble DIY place. Your man sure say TUABABY?? Wah I didn't know my name is so "well-known"? Hahaha! This Sunday seems tight for us as we have some friends coming in the afternoon. See how. Let us know the time? Does Mumu knows there's so many people going her place?

Can, provided it is strong enough and will not fall off long-term. Anyway drilling the holes (according to your door chime) isn't that bad as during drilling, you can always hold your vacuum cleaner right below to suck in the dust and minimise it.
-
That's cheap! Ok, here what you need to do: Remove the round white plastic with 2 screws at the kitchen wall? Unscrew it. There's 2 cables inside. Insert batteries (if it runs on batteries) and connect them to your door chime. (It should comes with connection instructions.) However, you'll need drill 2 holes to install the door chime onto the wall and cover the round hole.

Hey Elaine you're looking for a non-wireless door chime right? I got mine's from HomeFix. It's very easy to install on your own. Costs between $20+ to $40+. Do check them out.

Thanks! We'll still trying to settle in and unpack all our stuff!!! We'll see how long the nasi lemak stall lasts. That time before the TV programme show their episode, they haven't displayed their gold medal yet and there was hardly any people eating at the stall. I thought they looked quite unappetising too so never tried. Then suddenly a few weeks ago long queues started forming and we noticed the gold medal. That's why the western food stall closed down! Food just cannot make it. Read from another forum about some folks' lousy experience with the stall as well. I don't even wanna try when it was still around! However, the zi char stall is good. Can eat that one at night. They have a certain quality (in my opinion). Apparently it's part of a company that does catering for events and functions.

Hey Rasp, looks good! You've really put in a lot of effort to monitor and update the progress!

That nasi lemak... eh well it is a Gold Medal winner for the 抢摊 programme but we tried twice and find that it is not that good, and the taste's not too consistent. Not very cheap at $3.50 a set. Wonder how long it can last as I noticed the queue's getting shorter... The chicken rice stall Cannot Make It and it was gone! I saw yesterday the stall's empty. The western food's already vacant for a while. Hope some good stalls come in soon!

Yes, all Fernvale residents! It's building up to be a cosy little town (I hope)! We just moved in last Saturday. I noticed more and more units filling up, for 439A, 438A and 438B. 439B got a few and 439C's just releasing their keys this week so it'll take a while.
-
I know la, haha! Those 40x blocks!
-
No problem, u decide tonight then.

Yeah Fernvale Court is getting alive! Hi Mumu!
