Hi seashell, i tried to pm u always but ur mailbox also full. lol... as for the carpentry, i tink we r going to deal directly with the carpenter ba. will onli ask him to get ppl to help us fix up the sinks and do some remaining works. dun tink i dare to pay him anything in advance too. once bitten, twice shy. i will pay the sub-cons directly ba.. haix.. i need to go back to sin tml n see if i need any other stuffs ba.. hope to move in to my house asap le. cos my parents' place alr sold n they will move to a smaller house by mid of dec also. so no more space for me n my hb at all le. apparently, i bot the house 3 months earlier than them, n yet i haven move in to my new house. haix.. i gotta act fast to do the necessary then move in first before finishing the remaining works le ba.. haix.. everyone, pls hang on there ya..=)

my hb is so angry with ah soon. he promised to HO on 23nov which i actually noe its impossible. cos my cabinets n tv console r all not done yet. but then, he said he needs the money alr. so i gave him another 30% of the sum, when its supposed to be 20% onli. he said he doesn haf enough money so wans me to give him more. when two days ago, he wans me to pass him the money, he can wait under my block for half an hour. now, once he got the money, my house everything stopped. he supposed to send someone to do the last bit of tilings and build my L-box and cornis. but, two days n no one is at my house doing anything le. So, the golden words are," never pay money more than wat he has done." he will take the money n stop doing ur house reno......=( now, i gave up chasing him. i let my hb do all the chasing cos i will be so stressed tat i dream of my house reno every nite. i jus stay at home n start packing my stuffs for the new house. my hb hack care alr n started moving stuffs down slowly. haix.. today, when my hb step into the house, there is no one at all. can someone who is able to find ah soon, pls ask him to call indus rd's house hb... thanks so much.. IF I AM GIVEN ANOTHER CHANCE, I WOULD RATHER PAY THE MONEY AND GET SOMEONE ELSE. SO IF ANYONE WANS TO ENGAGE AH SOON JUST BECAUSE HE IS CHEAP. i dunno if they did ask the lower level neighbour to sign anything lei. but i doubt my neighbour noes i did my flooring ba. cos we didn hack all the way to their ceilings rite? LOL.. n my contractor didn pass me anything abt waterproofing.. hehe..

i tink they did do the waterproofing ba. if not it will not be approved by hdb de ba.. hahha.. but usually i will not splash whole bucket of water all over my kitchen. cos im too lazy to clean. LOL..

Hi Trevor thanks for the info.. i went to my house today to check on my walls n i tink they did plaster it for me la..=DD my house is like 27 years le so my walls can still see the brick shapes when i bot it. so i dun tink i can stand tat if i stay in there.. as for the waterproofing, my hb said they put a thick layer of cement under my floor tiles. so i guess they did do smt ba but im not sure if tat is waterproofing... LOL.. hope ur house will be done soon too ya.. hope to see my pics..=D

Hi rasp, hope ur reno is finishing soon.. tml my aircons will be up so i will personally go down to check on the pipings.. im worried its the short n used pipes from other works.. urgh.. if tat happens, im going to COMPLAIN. LOl.. typical singaporean.=D my current house aircons r always leaking water. so i feel might as well get the whole package with extended warranty n servicing so if anything happens, its not my prob le.. its they didn service it well.. hahaha.. btw, i tot the doors tat uncle ah soon going to fix for us comes with door lock??? y do we need to go n buy extra ones???

Hi Trevor, I was reading thru ur blog and i was thinking if uncle ah soon did smoothed and plastered my walls anots? cos when the first time im there, my living rooms n bedrooms walls were alr white in colour. I didn see it being smoothed, which from ur pics should be grey walls. N, when i reached there, he said its alr plastered....???? can tat be done in like 2 days? Im not sure if he even do the waterproofing for my kitchens anots cos he is now doing the tilings for the kicthen alr... die la... im going to faint.. I need to ask my hb to go down n check with them man.. all my wall tiles for kitchen r alr up.. if they didn do the waterproofing they will haf to remove the lower wall tiles rite??? how can i see if my living room n bedrooms walls r plastered???? can u help me????? matchgirl

Hi Rasp, I bot my house aircons at the gain city in ang mo kio.. wanted to go marina to check it out but since i wanted to get all my furniture( S&C) n electricals( philips sale) tat day, i went to amk.. nearer.. im such a easily deceived person. when im at the gc, the salesman kept pushing for hitachi n said tat gc is the onli company in sin tat distributes hitachi. n he said until its so supppppeb good until i also believe le. so i bot my inverter sys3( one 12000btu, 2x9000btu) at $2709. then i upgrade the pipes( $120), then sign for extended warranty($359) n lastly the servicing for 3 yrs( $630). total damage is $39**. I forgot how he calculated but its close to $k i rem.. hahha.. they will be fixing it on tue. hope it turns out well.. anyone heard any comments abt hitachi?

Hi Rasp, My aircon agent came back with a quote of $3090 for a sys 3 mit. I requested for all rooms 12000BTU cos i like it really cold. im not sure if tats expensive but i will go down to check out GC as well. Pls let me noe ur quotes and prices to upgrade the pipes ya. Thanks so much for ur help. =D

Hi Rasp, thanks for ur info.. will check out the pricings at GC before i make my decison. I saw ur pics on the pipings and insulators tat y im very int to noe where u bot the aircons. Im not sure what brands r good but i saw one the forum tat ppl recommend daikin and sanyo.. but im also attracted by the mit advertisement. dunno wat to pick. do u haf any recommendations n why u haf decided on toshiba? may i noe the saleperson u met and can i request for ur sub-contractor for installation also? wahhaha.. will haf to check with them abt that.. congrats on ur completion of ur house renovation. i hope mine can finish asap too. =D

Hi Rasp, I have been reading through ur t-blog and may i check where did u buy ur air-con? cos someone recommended me this shop at kaki bukit and he kept saying tat gain city uses sub-contractors to fix the aircons. N tat they will use short, used insulators from previous jobs to fix our house. thus, their prices are very cheap. He said tat his company uses new ones, and thick insulators which will eventually cost alot more than gain city. I am not sure if I should believe wat he say and jus buy it from him. I haf yet to receive the quotes of my house aircon from him but I am sure its going to cost alot more than outside. I would like to check with ur aircon installer also about his quote cos he looks really professional with his work and may i noe how much they quote u for the thicker insulators and pipings? Thanks for ur help..=D

uncle delayed my HO to 12nov alr. tats wat he promised to my hubby. i hope he can keep to his words cos my hubby got bad temper and if he flares, im afraid uncle will kena from him. i went down to my house yest and i saw 2 very skinny guys doing my wall tiles in the kitchen and toilets. they look sooooo skinny until i feel so bad to rush anything. i jus stood there and watch them work for half an hour. didn ask wats their name though. when i went down today again to bring some food n drinks for them ( uncle ah soon said theres 2 of them), I onli saw one of them working hard.. haix.. he's so poor thing. talked to him for awhile and he said he onli started working with uncle ah soon for 1 week. n ah soon kept giving them wrong instructions. (1) i told ah soon to hack my kitchen entrance bigger, he made them smaller. (2) he didn even tell them to add same colour for the tiles gaps. (3) i told him to lower the kitchen tiles by one gap from the living room tiles, ah soon told them level the tiles thruout. OMG.. my hubby almost fainted. Enough of complaints. I hope things will run more smoothly next week. Everybody, lets hold on and hope for the best. Good luck seashell.. =D

hi seashell, my house is at indus road. near tiong bahru. the reno started on 28sep. but nothing has moved since the plastering n hacking of floor tiles. its alr 5 weeks n the tiling works is onli until the toilets. i wanna kill myself alr..

thanks for the info.. i always tot y i cant get him on sundays.. LOL.. he is not keeping to his words again n again man.. i paid him way in advance even before the tiles came to my house. but tiling works onli started 3 weeks later. then he promised to finish tilings in 1 week, but when the date is up, the tilings didn even finish in the toilets.. OMG.. now, he said he wanna delay the HO dates alr. ask me dun go n stay in hotel. cos he cant get the house done on time. haix.. i dunno how to rush him faster alr. he always say he doesn haf enough ppl to do the works.. so irritating.. my face is popping with more pimples. n i cant get good sleep at nites man.. kept tinking abt the house renovation until i cant haf my normal life.. haix.. wish everyone best of luck in their renovation with Ah soon..=)

yup i will tell ah soon about it. he promised to do it for me tat time when i signed the quote. cos he also noe tat my house is very old and needs the sealer. my hubby said tat my house is doing tiling now. but he kept calling uncle ah soon but he didn pick up his phone as usual. then, my hubby said he might haf gone overseas. did anyone noe abt this? i wish all the best to everyone doing their renovation with uncle ah soon ya.. hope things run smoothly for all our homes..=D

Hi all, I would like to enquire if it is okie to put pink flowers painting in the house, be it in the living room or bedroom? becos i saw a nice painting n wanted to purchase it when my hubby said it is not good to put such painting in our home. his reason is there will be extramarital affair (桃花).???? I dun really believe in tat, but i dun wanna take the risk unless someone can assure me it is false.. LOL.. Can anyone help me in this? Thanks in advance..
