  1. Oh do you happen to know which model it is? Is it a soundbar or 2.1?
  2. I think it is still not too late if you give the documents at the 1st appt. When I went for my 1st appt, my officer was trying ways and means to help me get the AHG when I had no intention to in the 1st place. So just get ready your documents and present it. To clear your doubts further, I suggest that you call the HDB officer in charged of your case.
  3. Ya lor, muz try to squeeze something out from them. I still recommend Lorenzo to others , now they let me down liao.
  4. Ok thanks for the info. Eventually we are only overlaying the MBR toilet wall, while the walls of the kitchen and kitchen toilet will remain. Cos abit hard to overlay kitchen without knocking away the cabinets which we intend to keep. Also, we reckon that there is no need to do the kitchen toilet so nice since rarely will people use it. So save some money lor.
  5. Yesterday received a call from Lorenzo saying that the colour that I chose for my sofa has been discontinued! Quite pissed with the fact that they told me one month after i chose the colour..I mean why is it that they took so long. Luckily I haven bought my carpet yet else not matching liao...still got to go down and select again. Must prss them to give me some freebies as compensation. 2weeks more before i take keys...eagerly awaiting that day. Gonna snap pics of the empty house before I start my reno.
  6. I am currently scouting around for a home theatre system. Most of the HTS that I saw are 5.1 which I am not looking at because of the wires & space constraint. So now looking at soundbars or 2.1 HTS. Any recommendations from anyone? My budget is 1k and below.
  7. Welcome welcome! Eagerly awaiting your pics. So where is your unit located?
  8. If the flat has been fully paid up, then buyer do not need mortgage insurance. Even if wat also cannot, cos taking HPS or private mortgage insurance requires the statement of the outstanding loan before issuing the policy.
  9. I went to gain city, they also recommended Toshiba. The promotor explained to us in detail why it is better: 1. Parts are all made in Japan 2. Price is cheaper 3. Less energy consumption We look through the specs and indeed, everything seems to point towards Toshiba. The promotor says that if he want an easy sale and more comm, he would have sold us Mitsubishi cos no need to sell at all (due to Jack Neo) and price higher. And he says Daikin is too expensive and not worth it. But he did say that if my falt is those very old flat (>30yrs) and need system 4, then can only go for Mitsubishi (due to the compressor or something, forgot the exact reason). Or if i am staying in condo and just want to change the unit and not the pipe, then also must go for Mitsubishi (cos they are the only one that can do that without changing the entire pipes). Hope it helps!
  10. Now those near MRT so expensive! I was looking at Boon Keng MRT 3-room and my gosh, it is selling at 300k..no shopping centre somemore, only wet market.
  11. Finally confirmed on my contractor, keeping reno budget at $10k. Hoping to start work immediately after I get the keys. Now looking around for rainshower set. I will be using back the seller's instant heater cos contractor say good quality one, can use for my rainshower. So I just need to go get the head for him to install. Anyone got any recommendation on which shop to go? And what is the price that I am looking at for it? Can't wait to get the keys and start the reno, so that I have more time to move in before 7th lunar month. So many things to do.
  12. Hi if you are looking for a tutor who teaches primary school chinese, please look for me. My dad is a retired primary school chinese teacher and he would like to take on some tuition jobs. PM me for more details if you need.
  13. Oh ok, we'll just miss each other then cos I heard 2nd appt very fast. Anyway, probably may commence reno work on the same day if possible. So how's ur search for contractor coming to?
  14. Cos my new house is in quite a good state now, so dun need to do much reno. $10k is more than enough to do 2 toilets & kitchen, but if do whole house I think at least $15-20k. Hope you are not too confused by all the quotes. Sometimes, just go with your heart, see which contractor u feel most comfortable, unless pricing really a big difference.
  15. My budget is under $10k including the paint job. I think there are many contractors out there, some may be cheaper than others. But I prefer to get someone who is being referred because workmanship is also very important. And the flat is going to stay with you for many years, so get one who has favourable feedback will be priority. Price will be the next thing to consider, I will only consider those below average prices. Merryman, if you need further quote (which I don't think you still want right...haha) can pm me, i can refer my contractor to u.
  16. Wa u look for so many ah...u doing the whole hse or juz part of it? My contractor is referred to me by friend who had her hse done by him. Cos price and workmanship is competitive. Mine is only 85sqm so painting job of $1050 is ex. Trying to see if can get around $800.
  17. Oh I thought my tiling is quite ok? But I agree the painting is expensiv, so that's why trying to source for a separate painting contractor. Are you looking for a contractor also?

  19. When you say black and white flooring, what do you mean? Can you show some sample pics here if any?
  20. Thanks, just pm you. Pls send me your painters' contact.
  21. I only paid $10 for 2 times, but already realised that I do not want to based my lifetime happiness on luck, so decided to go for resale. Anyway, if want to go for mature estate, it is almost impossible to get a new flat now. Just feel that HDB is not doing what it is supposed to do, which is to supply us with new houses. Got money also cannot buy!
  22. Just realised that your 1st appt will coincide with my 2nd appt! What time is yours? Mine is early morning 830am.
  23. So I guess its still generally ok, at least for those who responded. Well, it depends on ur luck sometimes. Just hope mine is good cos will probably purchase office chairs from there.
  24. Overlay is definitely a cheaper option to hacking. I was told that if the flat is old, it would be better to hack and make sure there is no leaking before doing a new tiling. Cos if you overlay then in the end there's leakage, u hv to hack both layers up just to mend it. As for the increase in thickness, think floor still ok, but the overlayed wall may make your room look smaller. But don't think it will be significant.
