Ya its accessible, yet it is quiet as there is a green belt beside the estate of 4 blocks. The only thing that I don't like so far is the slightly longer than desired walk to the hawker centre & kopitiams, ard 10-15min. I would have prefered it to be nearer. But then, for the privacy of the estate, it is a necessary evil also.

Dunno what went wrong during the reno that make it like that, tom contractor sending someone down to check again. Hope it's not too jialat.

I agree that it is the owner's responsibility to rectify it. But they can always say that whatever that was being sold have to comply to HDB rules. Just like if the owner for some reason signed the OTP when they can't actually sell the house yet (thus making the sale illegal), does it mean the owner still has to come out with a house somewhere to give it to the buyer? And also, what if the original air-con that was taken down is already an outdated model? And the buyer refused to take a new model that the seller install? This argument will never end. But the worst thing that happened is the forgery of an official document. But since it has already been recorded in the inventory, it is fair to say that some form compensation be paid to the buyer for "losing" the air-con.

Yes, most of the things have been completed and the whole house has been washed. I will be moving in next week as the furniture will be arriving next Wed. Total cost for reno is $9.5k. How about you? Got your contractor already? Starting works soon?

Actually I think even if you want the air-con, you can't since it was illegal in the first place, so under HDB rules it has to be removed. So on that account I don't think the seller did wrong. The wrong part is that the agent forged the part on you agreeing on some things. This can be quite serious because if you complain all the way, forgery is a criminal act so the agent will be jia lat. So it depends on what you want at the end of the day. I will not make things easy for the agent since I am someone who dislikes such behaviour. Get him to waive off your agent fees or lower it down, if not you will complain to HDB, ERA or even the police and things will get ugly for him. Such people need to be taught a lesson, else they will continue with such acts in the future.

My MBR toilet! The walls are 50% done le. The black flowery strip is where my rainshower set gonna be. The rest of the floor will be white flowery tiles. Can't really see from the pic but the flowery tiles are quite sweet The shower place. Floor tiles will be done tomorrow. This is where my vanity top will be.

Went down again tonight, after the second day of works. This is my kitchen now. The floor tiles have been mostly layed. Just left the washer & fridge bases. Din want to disturb the tiles so can't take pics of kitchen toilet.

Reno officially started on Monday, 3 Aug. Went down to discuss more details with contractor at noon time. As can be seen, all the goods are now housed at my living room.

Notcied a damaged tile at the washer pipe there. Will ask the worker to patch it up cos contractor says can't find such tiles anymore. Here is the start of my glass panel, just above the kitchen sink. So no choice, have to move this rack to the wall above the washer.

Just before my reno start, the workers came to my house to dismantle the accessories. The basin, shower set, etc were being taken down late last week. The remains of the accessories. Some of these may be reused subsequently, see how.

I only considered option 1 earlier, but in the end I decided against doing it because I am unable to overlay the part in between my top & bottom cabinets without dismantling my cabinets. So save the money since the tiles are actually in good condition, just the colour a bit orh biang. My contractor also asked me to save $, no need overlay, just do a glass panel in between my cabinets and it will make the whole kitchen look nice. Cos when people step in, they will be drawn to the panel instead of the orh biang tiles. So purposely chose a orange colour glass panel to match the current HDB wall tiles. As for decals, I would like to decorate my other rooms with it. Any idea where I can get nice & affordable decals?
