I was told by soooo many people (incl. my reno contractor) to avoid the heater if I want a rain shower. I called up City Gas and clarified it to work fine. I took the plunge and... it works fine. My rain shower head is slightly smaller than my palm, but I believe even if you use those big-@ss shower heads, it should work too.

Those are not cyclone vacuum cleaners.

Yes I'm using with a rain shower. Top floor? You mean the water is verified weak? I don't find any issues with water pressure.

Have you checked out the local brand, Trends? It's cheap, saw one selling S$399 for 9000 BTU, but also saw a lot of bad reviews. Maybe the more powerful models are better...

Those air coolers are just fans with a water compartment. Water would be mixed with the air before cooling exiting. This somehow cools the room but obviously would not be anything close to an aircon. Btw when you test these out in shopping centres, they feel cold because they are blowing cold, aircon air out.

You could check out those small PC shops around your neighbourhood. Sometimes they are quite reasonable and you need not lug your PC all the way to Sim Lim Square. Btw, usually I get my nephews to do it. Try asking your geeky relatives or friends for help. Treat them dinner afterwards.

Cleaning tower fans is not just about the filters. You may be able to take out the filters easily, but what about the fan blades? There are several components that are inside and cannot be taken out easily; you'll need to reach in to wipe away the accumulated dirt. Or learn to live with it. Conventional fans are a breeze to clean (pun unintended) albeit they look awful and take up much space. It's your choice.

That is the melamine sponge and it is only good for cleaning "attached dirt". The yellowish colouring, is caused by chemical reactions and not some substance attaching to the surface. No amount of scrubbing could remove them. Unless...

I first heard about this "new" technology from Dyson. Hefty price, but the whole concept is really interesting. It's effective, quiet and energy-efficient. Wooo... thanks! Something like that except I was thinking of a "fence" around the base so as to prevent the bottles from falling down. Also, for the base, instead of steel plates, I'm thinking along the lines of "grilles" or "mesh" for allowing water to flow through. But this is a good start.

Hi, I customised my shower area to have a "depression" (imagine a vertical drain beside the rain shower wall) for 3 stainless steel shelves for holding my shower foam, shampoo, etc. Due to the odd-sized depression, I could not find one that fits off-the-shelf. I've searched most hardware shops especially those that specialises in taps, sinks and dish holders but to no avail. Hence, I am compelled to find someone who can customise such stainless steel holders for my bottles of shampoo and soap. Any recommendations and cost estimates? Thanks!
