  1. ely, i met up with one of them and we spoke for 2 hours! been almost 3 weeks and no layout and quotation from them yet... so disappointed cos i had such a good feeling about this one even before the meet-up. another one, is a recommendation and the director came to serve us personally. also spoke for more than 1.5 hours and in much greater detail than the first. was promised the proposed layout and quotation last week but also never hear from them. by the way i love your blog and the details you provide. i went to adelphi today and the first stop was KEC and it's all cos i read your post on the HTS. heh.
  2. same day! we can update each other on 29 April then. heh! so fast for you! exciting! hmm, not yet chosen... of the few which we went to, only one got back to us! the rest of the ID/contractors all bo chap us. we just had our fengshui audit done 2 days ago. slight changes to our layout. there are so much i want to update here but i need to do research on appliances first! this is a full time job!
  3. yes, you really should... i hope you already have some ideas in mind. typically they take 2 weeks (some don't even respond) to get back with the layout after the first meeting. good luck!
  4. i like the second design. for some reason i don't like hiding all appliances (fridge, washing machine) behind cabinet doors. the place will feel too 'showroom-y" for me. for the second design, you can either place laundry supplies as per the pic, or perhaps potted plants? i'm placing plants on mine for sure
  5. oops! hahah paiseh! then your flat must be those that come with 40amp...
  6. hi, can check here: http://www.hdb.gov.sg/bn25/isos119p.nsf/Search?OpenForm
  7. hello! finally popped by your 'place'. great pictorials! dun mind if i do the same for my blog (if i'm hardworking enough that is)? now you are tempting me with the projector set-up! geezzz... i need a bigger bonus $$$! may_dream1: you are getting a 60inch TV??? OMG! pure luxury. shiok!
  8. hee, i envy you, you envy me... we'll end up loving our own place anyhow! it's such an exciting thing, having a place to call our own, isn't it? so far we have: - sent floorplans to 6 contractors/IDs - of which, had 1st meetings with 4 of them, - had 2 meetings with 1 of them - haven't heard from 1 of them we are also considering to go ala-carte: get a free-lance designer and then source for individual contractors ourselves. currently still a little confused about the direction to go. guess will have a clearer picture after tomorrow's fengshui audit. looking forward to that! when u say you shortlisted 4, do you mean you have approached all 4 of them already? any good vibes so far?
  9. 1) the ad is fake. but i doubt so cos if this one is fake, they will still ask you what you are looking for and then tell you they have other better units and they start sourcing for these so-called 'better' units 2) they are not interested to serve buyers without an agent because they cannot earn your commission yet have to help you do paperwork. during my search we have seen many units where valuation is not done yet (we have our own agent). we are always allowed to view the units. just that if you really love the unit you will have to live with the days of waiting for valuation report, which is quite a pain...
  10. hi Errandz! just realized both our flats are 122sqm. but how come you have an extra room, so envy!!! and your toilets are side by side. i like! i'm so going to stalk your blog! 1st appointment was ok. Uneventful except the seller agent managed to piss us off big time (once again) but implying that we are thieves. *angry* Seller didn't want to give in on early completion so had to schedule 2nd appointment exactly 8 weeks later. i hate how the rules all favour the seller and never the buyer. 2nd appointment is on 28th April, a day later than yours...
  11. marshmallow, may_dream1, maybe i should run back and buy the sofa-bed! so far i still haven't seen a sofa-bed as comfy. but the colour! it's like this 
  12. sorry everyone, MIA for some time with no updates. really confused and tired by our disorganized journey to wedding and reno plans! lol...
  13. hihi!!! thanks for dropping by! you are so lucky to 'inherit' this! everyone is quoting me at least 3k for this wall...
  14. do you have a 3D for your dining area? that might help us 'visualize' hee.. just looking at the pics you post alone, i like nest! the rest esp molecules looked too futuristic...
  15. hahaha such a cute couple you 2 are!
  16. very nice 3Ds! any pics of kitchen design?
  17. oops. just saw your pics. thank you so much! ok... now i have to think twice cos the walking space is really small! such a dilemma... if i give up the idea of shifting the sink out, my bathroom will be too cramped. if i give up the idea of having a wardrobe in the master bedroom (which was our initial plan but everyone rightfully reminded us it will be most inconvenient in future), the walking space will be too small if i give up the storeroom, i know i will regret (where to keep luggage bags and ironing board?) seems like the easiest solution is to buy a queen size bed instead. not sure if i can live with that though. wahahaha...
  18. me and husband to be are actually quite small sized but my current queen size bed doesn't seem to be spacious enough. mostly cos he takes up so much space (like sleeping in the middle of the bed lol) and as a result i don't get good sleep. so king size it'll have to be (yea we are spoilt tat way hee) and maybe it will come in handy when babies grow to being toddlers and want to snuggle together once in a while. we've not really calculated the space but I am hoping it might be feasible still because your bedroom is 4.1m in length and ours is a little big longer at 4.8m. *fingers crossed*
  19. without feeling it under the feet myself, it's a little hard to choose. but just going by the pictures i'll go for A. i like the richer green colour and also it looks more 'dense'. B does look realistic - maybe too realistic for my liking
  20. nice! i'm doing this for our master bedroom as well. is your bed queen or king size? we want a king sized bed and contractor says there is not enough space to fit the wardrobe and suggests to hack the storeroom. but i want my storeroom! sigh.
  21. wow you started really early! better stalk your posts to shortlist stuffs (heh, joking) ya, tell me about it. very little time left. keys in end apr, wedding in mid may.
  22. haha me too! but i need to watch my pace cos my boyfriend might be freaked out if we go window shopping every week! by the way i learn something new everyday it seems. sua-ku me never heard of vitroceramic hob until you mention.
  23. thank you!!! i like! means i can start shopping this weekend!
  24. u mean clean the grout lines manually using mop/detergent, or there is such a service out there that can clean them after they turn yellow?
  25. did you start buying stuff after confirming your contractor or before? does your contractor tell you what dimensions or style to buy, or you buy le then 'make' your contractor amend the design or measurements to suit the things? i'm confused! i dunno where to start. haha. by the way, can share who is your contractor? thks!
