  1. Your entry very funny! Made me laugh for a good 1min..LOL..I feel that you chose a good ID, who has pride in his design hence "scolded" u for not consulting him before making those purchase..
  2. ID asked us over to the work site to have a look and to go through some items that require our confirmation... (1) 4 options of cement screed colours for wall to choose from. Left being the most dark and right being the lightest. Sorry, the camera didnt capture the colours too well. The utmost left patch is the darkest with a lot of "stripes" and "whirls", and the utmost right is just very light and pale grey with no "stripes" or "whirls". We picked the 2nd one from the left. (2) Size of island - ID marked it on site to show us the size. 200cm x 80cm. The smaller bottom marked portion is the leg space for counter stools. (3) My handsome ID sketching out our planter box in our balcony area. We are using hollow blocks to "fence up" the planter area. We will have a tall wire fence leaning against the wall to grow our morning glory crawlies! We have already started to grow them in our current house and BOY they are growing way too fast! They are taller than 35cm now! Dunno how we are going to "un-twine" them and "re-twine" them to their new home? (4) ID poured water onto the cement screed wall to mimic cement screed floor look. And we are SOO in love with the look and feel...esp the random swirls. Photo colour abit blue-ish because we have a plastic sheet covering the top of the balcony, acting as a make-shift roof to prevent rain from coming in to the house. (5) To show us partial tiling work done for the toilet. Very impressed with the workmanship...only one-man show which I personally think its good. Ensure consistency!
  3. I see... Thanks for sharing your review.. I shall go showroom and test it myself this weekend! Is yours from Elmark too?
  4. Still waiting for shipment to reach me....
  5. Been researching for a nice black & matt ceiling fan....Considered Haiku but just don't think the hefty price tag justify it le..so I am thinking of getting relite petite or from elmark. Any reviews to share on the below 3 models? p.s I "gop" this above pic from one of the renotalk members, sorry I never ask for permission before reposting but I cant remember who I "gop" from liao. Paiseh paiseh... Apparently, the sales girl told me the 2-blade fan has a stronger wind power than the 3-blade one below. But I am kinda skeptical...how is it possible?
  6. Been searching around for a tall dining side-board, and so far only saw one that I like from Crate & Barrel..but the colour does not match well with my dining table, need a lighter wood colour. Any idea where I can get a nice tall pencil-legged dining side-board?
  7. TV console http://detail.tmall.com/item.htm?id=24759500004 Shelf http://item.taobao.com/item.htm?id=35380627385
  8. Went WC & furniture shopping today... one word to describe..exhausting  At least we managed to decide on the below purchase: Toto WC x 3pcs Mountain Teak dining table..love love love their stuff..we bought a 160cm dining table, factoring in some space for a side board (dunno if this is the official name? Basically a cabinet placed beside a dining table)..if we cant find a suitable side board, might just change our mind to get a 200cm dining table instead... at least it can accommodate 8 pax, 160cm can only accommodate 6pax
  9. Finally....bought all these from Taobao today..was a serious challenge as my 华语 is super rusty...Didnt expect to buy so many stuff over taobao, but the more I surf, the more things I see, the more things I clicked, the more things I BUYYYYYY
  10. We picked aesthetic over anything else..
  11. Hi Lemoncandy Yes, most of the floor and wall are cement screed except for 2nd floor flooring. Makanology, thanks!
  12. 3D renderings Balcony This is the area where husband and I are quite excited about...will grow crawlies like morning glory... To be continued...
  13. I cannot agree more...super fugly...but not going to spend money to conceal plus the common toilet already so bloody small..
  14. Nespresso Inissia A very kind gf helped me to lup this all the way from Sydney. It was selling at S$250 with free aerocinno 3 in Sydney. Cheap, cheap, cheap! Aerocinno3 itself already cost S$199 in SG! Only thing is need to buy adaptor to use it...Going to make good friends with the contractor when reno officially start and ask him help me to change the plug head. hehe... Bosch Built-in Oven (HBG43S450A) Chose this because this has self-cleaning function. But it costs more than double from the model that doesn't have this function. Still thinking if I should splurge.. Electrolux 6kg dryer (EDV6051) Chose this because this is the cheapest dryer available. Will only use this during rainy season so don't want to splurge too much, and morever, my existing Samsung washing machine only cost $600, cannot justify why dryer should cost more than washing machine when I will not use it as often. BUT BUT BUT.. a better dryer will cost only 100+ more (i.e dry faster which means save electricity) hmmm..
  15. Updates... Got the keys to our house 2 weeks earlier than expected. Seller was supposed to rent the place two weeks from us as their new house is not ready, hence as a gesture of goodwill and kindness, we rented it out to them at the minimum rental cost. Less than 24hours before 2nd appointment, seller messaged me to inform us that they decided not to rent the place from us and we can collect the keys during 2nd appointment. Tsk tsk... can be more considerate a bit or not? So.....anyway, we went down to the house with ID, window/door vendor, aircon vendor and tile vendor for site recee...spent a total of 4 exhausting hours there with them. We got quotation on the spot from the window/door vendor as well as the aircon vendor, and spent time with them selecting material as well as discussing about trunking and how to hide them. Spent another 1.5hours discussing the powerpoint and lighting placement. Decided it was time to start shopping for electrical appliances, and decided on the below models, still sourcing around for best price... Samsung 60" TV (UA-60F6300) Chose this coz it is selling during clearance sale. Samsung fridge (RL4013UBASL) Chose this because of the stainless material and minimal look. Wanted a side-by-side fridge, but after going thru the pros and cons (i.e need to reduce storeroom space)..decided to go for a 2-door instead. Bosch Induction Cooker (PMI968MS) Chose this coz my place does not have any gas pipes. Wondering 2 "point" is enough? Have been living with 3 "points" all these while... Bosch Hood (DEE918PSG) Chose this because it comes in a bundle package with the above induction cooker. Karcher Steam Cleaner (SC3000) Heard good reviews from my gfs....they say MUST BUY...lol (to be continued)
  16. Prefer these 2 laminates for 2nd floor Inovar Congo Oak
  17. Selected tiles & laminates: Kitchen's island selected quartz top ID proposed to use the above floor laminate (Inovar MF850 Country Walnut) for our 2nd floor..however, I find it too "red" for my liking... After leaving ID's office, then realised forgot to select kitchen cabinet's top... -_-
  18. Just ordinary tiles in living room and laminated flooring on second floor :-)
  19. 2nd level bathroom 2nd level bathroom (odd layout of bathroom) Study room/WIW
