Bosch Fridge KDN53VL20T This is kind of a regret purchase This is a housewarming gift from my very nice sister-in-law who asked me to take a pick for a new fridge. The original fridge I intended to buy was Samsung RL4013UBASL (bottom freezer) as I like the sleek and simple metallic finishing, and I have 缘分 with Samsung products- so far they don't break down on me like LG products (with reference to my ex-fridge & ex-tv) The salesperson has a very glib tongue and managed to convince me that the display model fridge is a VERY GOOD BUY (nearly 50% off the sale price!) and somemore it is brand new, except it will be on display in the expo fair for the next 2 days. I didn't want my sister-in-law to spend so much, so I decided heck..since I already bought the display unit for the dryer, must well get the display unit for the fridge too. So after making sure that the size of this fridge is the same as the Samsung fridge (ID told not not to exceed Samsung's fridge size)..I made the purchase. After the purchase, I googled online for reviews..and I realised there aren't many reviews available for Bosch fridges, as Bosch is not well-known for their fridge, but more for their washers and dryers. *takes a deep breathe* Nevermind...and I also found out Bosch has very bad reviews for their after sales service... *takes another deep breath* Nothing I can do right... have already paid for them. I'm just going to pray for the best! With all my purchases at the Gain City Expo Fair, I filled up abt 60 lucky draw coupons...I couldn't feel my fingers anymore after I finished filling up ALL the forms! The top prize is a Mazda 3, please don't let me fill up all those forms in vain & let me win ok!

U know what...I went home after the purchase and started googling online to DOUBLE confirm this fact (I don't trust salesman LOL)...and I saw its 67L for HBN331E2J on Bosch website and I was FUMING MAD & was ready to call the salesperson who sold me this oven model and ..but I decided to hold my horses and give him A CHANCE TO EXPLAIN HIS WRONGDOINGS before I ... So I texted him the discrepancy..then he replied "For HBN331E2J, 67L is the gross volume, 52L is the net volume" and he sent me the product fact sheet to prove it. Phew! Thank god I hold my horses, otherwise I would make a big boo-boo of myself..hehehe On second thoughts, I think it's terrible for Bosch to mislead the consumers (like me) who decide on their purchase via info disseminated on internet... I think Bosch is the one who ought to be I paid $999 for this..please dont tell me if you can get it cheaper at somewhere else, I will myself...

Bosch 8kg Dryer WTS86516SG There is a story behind this purchase. The original dryer I wanted to buy is Electrolux 6kg EDV6051...and the salesman at Best Denki told me this model dispose the hot air via the front vent, I do not need a pipe to dispose the hot air outside the window. My first time buying a dryer so pardon me for my suaku-ness, prior to this I just know vented dryer is the cheaper version, and condenser dryer is very expensive dryer. So I "happily" decided on EDV6051 since it is cheap though it has only 2 ticks ...then as I was sharing with the Bosch salesperson that I DO NOT need a dryer as I already bought a very cheap one and Bosch dryers are all very expensive..he told me not possible that my cheap electrolux dryer is a condenser dryer. A quick check with the original salesman who sold me the Electrolux dryer at another company (not Best Denki) confirmed that I DO need a connecting pipe to the window to release the hot air.. THANK YOU VERY MUCH LOR...now I am stuck with buying a condenser dryer coz my laundry area is so pathetically small that I can't hang too many clothes, plus my washer & dryer are not located near the window. And looking at all the Bosch dryers prices make me want to cry ...so the salesperson asked me if I mind buying the display unit which is actually brand new but will be displayed at the expo fair for the next 2 days. I looked at him n asked "How much discount can you give me?" So he gave me nearly $500 off the indicated sale price. Well, not that I have a choice right so just suck it up and buy...nevertheless I am very grateful for the discount despite me REALLY dislike buying display set. On a happy & self-comfort note, this dryer has ActiveSteam technology..this is perfect for people who has mild OCD like me..STEAM TO KILL BACTERIA & GERMS! Also it helps to reduce creases..hehehe Not going to tell husband how much this dryer costs, I am sure he will FAINT.

Bosch Oven HBG23B550J My original plan was to purchase Bosch HBN-331E2J, however I realised this model is not a self-cleaning model. I thought of getting a self-cleaning model will be better as I like baking and plan to use this oven for as long as I stay in this house, hence better invest in a better one right... So I decided on HBG43S450A which cost more than DOUBLE of HBN-331E2J ..I was a bit sian that I have to fork out so much more for self-cleaning model but I tell myself to suck it in and just pay for it. But when I was at the expo fair, the salesperson told me not to pay so much for HBG43S450A if I don't plan to use the oven more than 3-5 times a week... I mean, I enjoy baking la, but baking is not my sole purpose in life! I got a life and other hobbies too!..so anyway, the salesperson advised me to purchase HBG23B550J which has a higher capacity than HBN-331E2J (67L instead of 52L) and way cheaper than HBG43S450A..So I was sold and made the purchase! FYI, HBG23B550J has self-cleaning function, but it is only for the back panel instead of all panels.

OH MY TIAN! Renotalk is so cool (pardon for my suaku-ness!)...i was typing my entry half-way and I accidentally closed the window (palms forehead) & when I restored the page, I realised there is a button to retrieve last store data! WAHHHHH Slight change of plans for electrical appliances after I went to the Gain City Expo Fair last week... initial plan was to pop by the event to purchase Hyflux under-sink water filter but as I was exiting the hall after payment...I walked past Bosch counter...and end up purchasing almost all my electrical appliances from there. The interest-free installment scheme and extended warranty was too enticing... My purchases at the event: Hyflux's latest product- UF DRINKING WATER SYSTEM HF1P I did some fair of research before I decided to make this purchase. Mainly reading in Renotalk and googling online for reviews to decide what brand & model to purchase. Initial plan was to purchase Amway's e-spring water filter as my MIL is using it & raving about it..but it is selling at abt S$1.6k, and if we get it in Malaysia, it cost abt S$1.25k. However, warranty is not covered as the purchase is not done via Singapore's "dealer"...anyway, I thought the price was a bit high..also, I realise e-spring only can block particles up to 0.2microns, where else HF1P is able to block particles up to 0.01 microns. Also, I will need to spend approximately S$250 a year on cartridges for e-spring & HF1P will only cost me $90/year for carbon filter cartridge + $300/3-5yrs for the ultrafiltration membrane cartridge. Also no electrical point required for HF1P...but of coz e-spring looks aesthetically much sleeker and nicer la... anyway, the more I researched, the more confused I got (all the chemical names & whatsoever, I felt like i was transported back into secondary school where I was studying chemistry)...so decided HECK! Just buy based on my budget...

In the end, I decided to get Crestar-design ceiling fan from Fanco (see below)...reason being I bought my current house ceiling fan from Eric (i found him on RT) and he provides excellent after-sales service, so I decided to buy from him again. Coz ceiling fan is something we use everyday, in case of break-down or blades become noisy, its important to have a responsible seller. I read terrible reviews about Elmark, hence didnt against buying from them despite they got nice ceiling fan design (but with a hefty price) Hehe...i dont believe your seller so nice to rent out to 3 ppl and end up with 14 ppl staying. I am very certain your seller requested for extra $$$... please remind your property agent to remind the seller that EVERYTHING from the house has to be removed (except for permanent fixtures)... esp since u got 14 ppl staying there now...

Reno has been progressing relatively slowly...no much updates except for the below: Cement rack has been "built" in all 3 bathrooms. This will be where we put our shampoo, facial wash, facial scrub, body wash etc etc...Cement screed has been done for all 3 bathrooms' wall too (not shown in pic as this was taken earlier on) Planter box has been built... for my crawlies On a separate note, my morning glory bloomed today!! So pretty...they are growing way too fast, dunno how im going to transfer them to the new planter box. Hope they will like their new home.. Need to confirm the floor laminate soon... Husband likes 2nd from the left (white wood grain) and I like the far right (dark rustic wood)..how...both looks so different wor

Jus stumbled on this thread! Hi everyone! We bought an EM around Lorong Chuan last year Nov, and we just started our reno in mid April...scheduled to complete around end June. Off-topic: Anyone had problems logging in Renotalk recently? I didnt manage to log in over the last weekend..wonder if it's my computer or the forum server..hmm -
I think I am quite tall (standing at 1.69m), but my legs cant touch the ground too when leaned back onto the couch. The sales assistant said the cushions that will come along with the leather sofa will be much thicker than the showroom piece..let's see how the actual piece will turn out.. We did some research on this topic before, and I think it's heng/suay one. Some cats detest the smell of leather, and some love it to death. I will do a review when the TB loots arrive! All the lights are from different seller, which light in particular u are referring to?

Hi there, can i know if u bought this locally or via TB? Can share where u got it from? Thanks!
-
Seems like ur located on the highest floor (like me) and concealed the rubbish chute gate...I wanted to do so like you, but my ID advised me against doing that as "suay suay" one fine day HDB wants to open that door, I need to hack away that portion of the wall... Can I know if u concealed it completely or there's a secret opening?

This is very nice..I saw this in TB and like it alot but husband says it does not fit into our house theme..cannot buy
-
True true, it is better to have a bigger bedroom than bathroom. Bo pian, cannot adjust wet area size Maybe make use of that space to install a bathtub! Very swee le... The sofa we bought is actually 200cm, its a 3-seater but only 2 cushion..hehe... Maybe I should request for 3 cushions instead of 2 since its custom-made anyway.

Waiting for ID to quote us on the mini storeroom beneath the stairs as our staircase design has altered quite a bit (HDB has rejected our initial proposed design ) If the storeroom is going to cost more than 1k, we probably will not go ahead to do it. My husband asked me what I am planning to store in that small space, and the only thing I can think of is vaccum cleaner My 2nd floor is not very spacious..i think my layout the same as yours. The common bathroom on the 2nd floor is v v v small and narrow, we had to hack the bathroom entrance door and extend it out to create a bigger space.

Decided on a sofa over the public holiday, below design but in leather instead of fabric. The sales assistant told us that cats generally don't scratch leather (we have 2 cats)...so we took the plunge and decided on that beautiful caramel brown calf leather which both hubby and I love. To be honest, I was a bit concerned that the depth of the sofa is a bit too long, but the man really love it, so ok lo...BUY. Some additional TB loots that we ordered ...
