Day 16 - Commencement of Painting 1st Coat/base coat today~~ , then installation of all lights tomorrow morning, chemical wash on Thurs :3 Kitchen area. Choosing pure white (Wash and wear) significantly pushes the brightness level of the kitchen to another level. Our living area, looks bigger with the colors. Hope it wun look small when we put all the furniture in. Another look of the living room from the foyer. The only place that is dark is the foyer. Bo bianz have to use lights to rectify le And all the lights arrived today. Wootz. Love them especially the one in the big white box :3

Some points to add on services the ID provides on top of contractors. 1) Space planning - Usually IDs will help to plan for efficient use of space. Like where is the place the occupants operate at most of the time. How many storage units they need etc. 2) Ergonomic/Convenience planning - Not sure whether all IDs will do this, this usually covers stuff like consideration of average height of house occupants for carpentry, placement/height of light switches, position and location of common items (eg, if the occupants read alot of magazines and have lots of gadgets connected to TV, IDs will suggest a double layer coffe table or a good place to put remote controls). 3) Style planning - Color co-ordination, furniture looks to go with the occupants' tastes 4) Visualisation before commencement of renovation - Usually 3D drawings. 5) Project management - Managing of contractors, furniture/appliance/lights/air-con/etc deliveries, keep the project on schedule and hassle-free for the client etc. (like a 1-stop service centre) For contractors like what Pinklady said, most of the time will be the house owner liase with the contractors. Everything have to plan, like delivery dates, placement of lights/switches, type and color of paint to use, routing of water piping, design of custom-made furnitures (can just provide overall idea but a rough dimension will be good). Hence the reason why IDs cost so much more than contractors.

Day 15 - Framing for Study room elevated floor, patching up for painting of walls. Wood work for our house has started, also heard from the carpenter that the kitchen cabinets are in midst of building. Can expect to see some kitchen updates at the end of the week. The Supreme laminates we chose for the study room. Hope they match the wood of the sunflower fan sia~~

Hmm is there much difference between the brands? Sometimes I really doubt that our eyes are really that powerful to pick up subtle color changes on the HD TVs....

SLS is different. The carrot heads that got chopped are often people who never do much research before heading down to buy the IT stuff. Their price lists are up on the web for everyone to download mah. Unlike furniture.... most of the time we don't even know the quality of the furniture until it comes

Same with my living room floor tiles. The skirting was actually damaged when I took out the 2 doors to my master bedroom. Contractor told me that the tiles are discontinued thus we have to make use of our toilet wall tiles to patch back the skirting.

Sneak updates!! Took some time off during lunch to go over to house to take a look. Can say I popped by at the right time, the plumbers were fixing up the toilets. MBR bedroom toilet almost done. The contractor requested for an additional hot water piping up to the sink even though we only had cold water tap. Really thoughtful as we wun need to rerun all the piping again should we need to change the tap to a mixer next time. Neat arrangement of piping too. Drainage pipe not up yet, hope it wun be too ugly. Our cold water tap. The hot water is supplied via the storage water heater. 35litres, located by the service balcony. Hot water piping is available for kitchen sink too. Guess we need to change the tap we bought, must discuss with wife :3 City gas piping
