Day 10 - Adding Boards for the partition walls View from entrance of MBR View from corner of MBR Across the wall is the WIW area. The living area partition is also up. One of the sides of the partition wall will be where the TV console is. Open-concept study room. My work area, wootz. Now I see the room... it is really very big

Any lighting experts here? I'm having trouble planning my lighting. Not doing any L-box, false ceilings. Not sure whether should we add on any other lights, take away excess lights. Living Room: Is 3 light points too much for the living room? Basically LP03 (Lighting point 3) is a fan with yellow light. By itself it is incapable of luminating the whole living area. Is 40W light too much for LP04 and LP13? Thinking of when we need more light we can switch off the yellow light from LP3 and use LP4,LP13 instead to light up the area. Vice versa when we need more 'ambience' can off LP04,LP13 and just use the light from the fan (LP03). Master Bedroom: MBR has a horizontal ceiling beam running across in between the 2 rooms. I'm worried that 1 light above (LP01) is insufficient to light up the whole place. What is the best way to light up MBR without using Lbox, downlights, while maintaining ambience? Wall lights? Balcony: Do we need an additional ceiling light if we just put 2x wall lights? (Those small ambient kind) Study Room: Same as Living room, the lighting point (LP05) is yellow light mounted on a fan. Is there a need for another set of lights just to light up the bookcase area?

Day 9 of Renovation: Wet works completed. Framing for the partition walls are up Study Room partition frame built up. Sad to say the pictures that I took for the MBR partition were either blurred or corrupted. So no visual updates on that. Entrance to the kitchen. Floor tiles are in grey. Wall behind the entrance. This will be our future dining area. :3 Bathroom is erected in MBR wootz.

Day 6 of Renovation: Everything is in order and I heard that the tiling will be completed on Monday Pictures of the current tiling status Common toilet Master toilet - Decided to leave the pipes out in the open. Boxing them up will make the toilet look much smaller. Close up of tiles, can see the flower motifs The tiles are actually pretty much reflective, wootz. Really glad that we chose these tiles, they make the toilets look brighter and bigger visually/ Tiling for the MBR toilet floor is done too.

Found out that there is a horizontal beam running right across our intended bed-position T__________T The Fengshui master said that that location is the best for both of us, but it suffers from the horizontal beam. Really don't know what to do. Have to rectify this before our contractor start erecting the false wall. One way is to revert back to our draft 3, which places the bed on a solid wall instead of a false wall, though it reduces the wardrobe area to 3metres instead of 4metres. Sighz.

Went to select tiles yesterday at Hafary and Lian Seng Hin at Balestier Road...need some opinion on which combi looks better First combi..the upper two tiles are wall tiles while the one at the bottom is the floor tile. Second combi... And also the tile for kitchen...got three choices but dunno which one will look better in a kitchen with white cabinets... Choice 2 Choice 3 - looks almost like choice 2 except it has little sparkles here and there on the tile... Appreciate all opinion and feedback...thanks!

Opps didn't know that my wife is still log into her account. The above poster is me. :3 One thing which I'm concerned about is a couple of comments of the FS master. His suggestion is for me to place around 9potted plants in front of my door (4 with heights above eye level) The circles in blue are the plants Will this be considered obstructing the common corridor? Any plants that are tall and have a small base/side frame to recommend? (like bamboos?)

Missed Date Of Submission For Ahg.
Nekorin replied to Nekorin's topic in Housing Rules, Policies and Procedures
Thanks for the suggestion. I just came back from HDB hub at Toa Payoh. They are willing to help me process the application for AHG as even though it is 2days prior to the 1st appointment. Really grateful to them. -
Help.... I just received a backdated letter stating that if I did not submit the documents by 25th June. The Additional Housing Grant will not be processed. And my 1st appointment is in 2days... Be it human error or anything, is there anyway I can do to salvage the situation and get the HDB process the AHG?
