Because an ID dont need a license. Ah Soon is from Fu Hua Interior Design. From my layman understanding la, ID dont need license. Yes precisely, whats the issue here? Ah Soon is not really a contractor like everyone has been saying. He is in fact an ID. So if he is an ID, he is doing the right thing by getting a licensed contractor to do his jobs. If Ah Soon is a contractor, then cannot la, must have HDB license. SO if he is ID, then there is actually no reason for him to apply a HDB license. Hey Aubrey, wake up will you? People talk on facts. People present facts. Just like above is a fact. You know what Ivy, people like you cant stand in a forum to engage in a civil discussion. Some of us here are just actually articulating points. If everything is fine, then its fine. If something is wrong, then its wrong. Its as simple as that because there are rules, laws and we need to live by.Thats what makes Spore a thriving country which earned great respect worldwide. Btw, I was just thinking aloud, if Ah Soon co name is Fu Hua Interior Design, that means he is an ID, not really a contractor. So if he gets another contractor license to do it, he is actually doing the right thing as long as that contractor he got the license from is indeed executing the work and not like sub let out again. But then again, its just my thoughts based on the FAQ I copied from HDB earlier. Again those experts like those HDB folks will know best.

I spoke to HN sales guy before and he told me, paying the extra $$$ just for brand name only for KDK. He suggested to me for a cheaper fan like Sona hahahaha

Hi 12digit, Here are the criteria from HDB Applicant's company has to be registered with the Accounting and Corporate Regulatory Authority (ACRA) for a minimum of ONE year without any blemished records; Applicant must possess THREE years experience in the renovation works and must be actively involved in the renovation trade. For evaluation of the company's performance, applicant is required to submit FIVE invoices for renovation works with an accumulative sum of not less than $50,000/-; and Applicant must satisfy the HDB that he has sufficient financial resources and with proper staff establishment. For Private Limited company, the minimum paid up capital is $30,000/-. Not sure but seems like from HDB info, the unblemished record requirement is actually 1yr instead of 3 yrs Below is another info lifted out from HDB website 13. Use of Name or Permit The Contractor shall not lend or allow to be used its name /logo and/or its HDB renovation registration in any application for a renovation permit unless the Contractor is executing all the Works stipulated in the application. not execute any Works for and on behalf of any contractors who are not registered under the HDB Registered Renovation Contractors' Scheme.

Hi cannotisit, I think I was attended by a lady. I think her name is Annie. I purchased it roughly about 3wks ago. 1. r the sales pushy, They have about 7 levels of floors with diff themes. So I told her, I am going for budget, so she brought me I think to Level 4 and Level 7 (Level 7 name is Budget Level hahahahaha). In fact although only buying 2 small items there which costs me before GST, side table $89 and bedside table $99, she still was patience and not pushy. In fact when I wanted to change my mind to buy a more expensive side table, she advised me not to and settle for the cheap one since she say no point in spending so much $ just for a side table. So she was not pushy at all, in fact very accomodating. 2. r the delivery puntunal and hussle free? I think they r not punctual because they came earlier...hahahaha. They supposed to come between 10-11am. They came at around 9.45am. I have no qualms on that. Plus 1 day before delivery, Silver River will call you again to confirm on the delivery. i also thinking of getting tv console & shoe rack from v.hive deisgn looks ok, price wise fit my budget. I got from V Hive branch in AMK as some stores have additional 15% discount instead of 10%. So what I did was did my research on other branches, then go to AMK branch and just let them know the model # and purchased from them.

Hi aoasis, My scenario is more like what zerochristy described. This refund thing and pay another 8k in 2nd appointment seems quite fishy to me. By right, just pay the diff mah of 3k, since you already paid 5k during the OTP. You might wanna check it out again with the approriate HDB officer which was assigned to handle your transaction.

The case highlighted by simpleguy80 was highlighted in hardwarezone forum, can go there check it out. Those guys will try sell Orix brand speakers. And in that forum there is a long list of people living down their names and amount of $ they got conned. Think our tv also tried to like setup a trap on this guys. Talking about this kind of con, my friend also met before this Malay couple asking for money saying they need some $ to take cab to bring their sick baby to hospital.Indeed got the wife there holding baby. It happened in Yew Tee. Think they ask for like $10 or something. My friend felt pittiful and I think he just gave a $50, cant really remember the amt. So aft hearing the story by other forummers, not sure if what happened to my friend is a genuine or a con? Think only God knows......

Simpleguy80, maybe I can offer some insights on standing fans. Currently in my home, I have 4 different brands. Cornell, Aerogaz, Mistral and Toyomi. I must say that Aerogaz one is suprisingly the best for me and I decided it should come into my bedroom hahahaha......I wanted get more Aerogaz standing fans but couldnt find it anymore. I got it free from a wedding luncheon as I managed to answer a quiz question. I went to HN, Best, Gain City, Courts, neighbourhood shops.....cant find this brand liao. The wind is strong, no noise and the frame is sturdy. However do take note that some fan, the head of the frames r locked using a screw. So need a screwdriver to unscrew it. Unlike Cornell model I have which is just clip and unclip. As for KDK fan, I am using the low ceiling fan. So far ok, but since the blades r short, its unable to push the wind far unless u sitting directly underneath it. Got it at Chan Huat for $190, but I think I paid expensive price for it. I believe other places can get cheaper.

Hi merryman, If I could turn back time, I would probably get my sofa bed exchange. Although its convinient in a sense it can convert to a super single bed plus cheap at $299, but come to think of, the support is not there. Would have gotten a pocketed spring kind of sofa will be better. As for the rest of the items so far, no complaints thus far.

I have RS20NRSV Samsung side by side model with 3 ticks. Had been using it for > 1mth. The only complaint I have so far is that sometimes it gets into some weird fits. It starts to rattle and make loud noise. I think maybe the compressor is doing something. But its surely loud. Once I was watching horror show alone at night, got startled with the loud noise....hahahahahah

Have you considered before the hugger from Alpha.....heard the wind is super powerful. I wanted to go for that but heard out of stock in Apr when I visited Chan Huat. So I just went for KDK. But I am still curious if the wind is that powerful. From the shape of the blades, it looks contorted inwards, that explains how it can generate the wind like a tornado....hahahahahha.......

From my understanding there are 4 ways how to discharge a party from a contractual obligation. By performance, agreement, frustration or breach. This looks like a frustration to me because once you have the title of the house, the previous owner is unable to further undertake the performance of the tenancy agreement anymore. This will render the previous agreement null and void. So by law, it seems like you as the new owner have the power to get the previous tenants out. But I think maybe is more of how to reach an amicable understanding with the current tenant to facililitate their move out, so it can be as seamless as possible for both parties. Hopefully an understanding can be reached that serves the interest of both parties.

Hi Restlezzsoul, I think maybe 15k be a safer estimate. But to do all that within 10k based on my personal opinion maybe not possible based on the price point of previous contractor that did before my home, but not sure if other forumers in this forum might be able to recommend theirs. I suggest maybe you can PM them and get their feedback on their contractors.
