Have asked to deliver the toilet accessories(wash basin, wc, taps etc) tomorrow because I really dunno when to believe. Though the the cement and stuff are still in the house, I believe there is place to house these items first. Please let me know of your views if this is advisable. Thank you guys.

To be honest with you, for me its a NO.

Last update, check was done yesterday 19th of November and skirting of tiles still untouched. Uncle "promise" that by this saturday everything will be done and things will be cleared away so that I can send in my stuff like hood and hob, toilet accessories etc. Certainly doesn't look promising since today is the last day that things can be done.

its true. sometimes u really wonder seeing him, does make any difference. Even if its the slightest chance of reminding him that he has this client, we will still go for it.

hello fellow sooners. Haven't been reading this forum for a few days due to work commitment. So much updates. Also haven't been checking on my house renovation. I saw earlier somebody mentioning that Uncle is out of town ? Is it true? Can't manage to get him though. We should all unite and tell him that all the current owners are unhappy about his service. Will keep u guys posted of the updates and whereabouts( if I can get him of course).

lol, actually my renovation is around 20-30k range . He is indeed slow, now currently still at the tiling stage, although I have some pics for updates but thought that I'll post it only when the full thing is complete.

Just to update on my situation, turn out that he is not lying, the tiles were indeed finished up, except for some skirting. Not to side him or something but just feel that credits should be given when its due.

yes i chased him already, then he claim that somebody is fixing my tiles and going to be done by today and request for the next payment from me. I really doubt his words. But I told him I'm going to meet him at my house and see the progress before passing him the money.

I've noticed that my renovation permit that Uncle has applied for me has already passed. Is this normal? Will he usually go and apply for another or is he going to carry out the renovation work "secretly"?

I've actually did try the suggestions provided here like sms him in chinese to call me back. Not working for me. However last update is I've managed to get uncle, and he somehow said that the tiles are already there and will call back and confirm with me again. Anyway, I think he sort of misunderstood or something. He said he will confirm with me, but asked me to take down my comments on what I've said? There was nothing in particularly special about what I've said. I'm not sure what was conveyed to him but he definitely thought there were bad remarks passed. But what I see from here are all the true experiences of every person who've engage Uncle Soon for his/her project.

I'm comforted by knowing actually so many of you guys are experiencing what I'm experiencing. Just that I'm at a more initial stage. 6 weeks just to be at that kind of stage? Incredibly amazing slow!. I mean I kind of accept that he will delay but one thing I detest, he will tell you tmr after tmr. Why can't he just tell me a confirmed date, a really really confirmed date. Calling him everyday is really a challenging, getting him to answer is even more challenging and you will probably hear the same old sorry will do it tomorrow thing. Hope things get better.

I must say that i chased him every single freaking day since last thursday. I asked him when and he ALWAYS SAY:" SORRY TOMORROW". Finally today my patience has run out and I'm fuming. I actually called him today and he said the tiles are already there. I knocked off at night at pop by my house, still nothing. I can confidently say I've notice a behavior that uncle exhibits. If you call him using a fresh foreign number, the chances of him picking up increases by a far lot. Once u identify yourself, he will either listen to you or tell you he will call you back which always nv happen. If he decides to hear ur ranting, then I suppose he will note down ur phone number and blacklist and avoid picking up calls from that number. Maybe a lot of guys have similar experience. Just wanted to vent my anger. Sorry about all this. blue_diamond: could you share with me how did u approach him to commit a time?

That's was the initial agreement that once I have seen the tiles then I made the payment. But....I have already made my payment because I can understand that he needs the money to order the tiles. But uncle betrayed my trust in him. Because he made it sound very urgent. Now keeping my fingers crossed.
