Hi seashell, thanks for the comments. That poster with the bus is bought from ikea and the one with me and my wife is done by our videographer which is included in our wedding package. Its made up like a movie poster that is aimed to looked like the Charlie Chaplin era. My dog is 10 human years, its quite an old dog. So far used to the new house already. Its great to have your own space and do the things you want to do and eat the things that you buy yourself. So far hows ur house? Settled as well?

I agree with what seashell has to say. Since the main primarily concern now is money(since most of us has lost some if not a lot), we should be focused on the best alternative to get back the most of ur money worth.

Thank you seashell for adding my name to the list. I have not been visiting the forum very often now due to my new job and also my ongoing renovation which is coming to an end. I wasn't surprisingly shock that this thread is still the hottest thread in RT. I spent about an hour trying to read from where I left off. Again, I am happy that I moved on, and also sorry at the same that there are other more unfortunate owners out there, struggling painfully. I must clarify, I am not rich. However, at the same time, I feel there are other owners out there who needs this money more than I do. I take it as a part of giving back to the society, giving back to the forumers who once helped me before. Again, thank you for not forgetting about me Seashell: I really admire your tolerance to the amount of stress you are facing. Just remember what doesn't kill you only makes you stronger. Hang on! Hi Seashell, thanks for asking. I have engaged another contractor to finish up my house and the progress is good. Just that I'm a little busy and hence have not have the time to upload the pics for my current progress. Currently the debris everything is cleared, false ceiling is done and flooring everything is done. Will upload the updates for my house tonight. How's things going on for you?

i think no choice, the fact that his workers will be at work is 1% because he is in a lot of debts with the sub cons. If really he wishes to progress with the reno work, no choice I will have to open the locks for him. I will rather protect my house rather than for the convenience in return.

My house's lock as provided by Ah Soon, was opened and left it there when my wife arrive at the scene to witness it. I have replace it with my own lock on top of the existing lock. I wonder if it is Ah Soon's doings or is some disgruntled sub- cons.

Hi konajovin, thanks for the info. For drawings wise, he did not draw any because my wife did all the work. She drew all the cabinets and the things to needs to be fabricated. Hence, I do not have any of his works for scan. Also, since he is more well known to be "Ah Di", IF he is the same person, why would he introduce himself as another name? Trying to get a fresh start? Not good.

Hi Seashell, I was told that the Ah Liu figure was aka Ah Di. I will see if his quality of work is acceptable. Please do let me know if your carpentry is up, I'm opening my options. Thank you!

Sorry anybody knows or use this carpenter by the name of Ah Liu recommended by Ah Soon before? I've heard that another owner in CCK is also engaging this carpenter but I don't know who it is. Because if I were to engage him, I've got to pay a deposit of 40% of the total sum of the carpentry that is to be done. And I don't think its wise to do that after all the crazy things that have happened. Anybody got views/ knowledge or experience please kindly share with me? Please PM me if its not convenient. We can never allow him to get away scot free with all our hard earned money. For the contracts we have signed, its under a non HDB registered company. But for our renovation, he used a HDB registered company to apply to HDB side for the renovation. I don't even know that the company that applys for the permit, is it his or somebody else ?

Seashell I can understand your anger. I'm as furious as you. Apparently I've managed to get the tiler and he told me that the tiling was half done because Ah Soon never paid him a single cent. I'm not surprised after hearing all the things that have been happening. There must be something that we can do against him. Let's unite and report this to police or CASE or anything.

I've started to be very cautious with contractors now. Also never heard of their name. God knows whether they have a registered company here or anything? Worst is they just freelance because that Ah Liu Carpenter told me that he's going to get 40% deposit once he have finalized the total amount. I got to make sure they got something I can hold on to and make SURE he give me another contract with a HO date. Once bitten twice shy.

I have a better feeling of paying the carpenter directly actually and I'm seriously not looking at that kind of delay. I think I'm not the only one who's wondering where in the **** my money went to. Because what we pay is not what we get. At least for now. Thanks for all the kind advices Trev. Very much appreciated.

Hi Trev, thanks for the advice, but for the amount that I have paid uncle, I have already given him 3 * 20% payment and he's has only done up the floors and its not complete(left the skirting). I thought he should have used the money that I've given him so far and pay the carpenter direct instead. Hi pangpang, my carpenter's name is ah liu. Anybody using him? How is his work? I also think that paying the carpenter direct would be a much smarter choice. Ya I think I'll just use uncle's quotation as a reference for the carpentry items. But it will be better if I can manage to get hold of him to sort this out.

Hi Dear Sooners, I was contacted by this guy who claims to be doing the carpentry for my house. But the thing is he said that Ah Soon asked him to settle the money issue directly with me. He said that he have to analyze my house and the items to be done and will give me a quotation based on that. Is it the case for all of you guys? Because from what I know, the quotation that Ah Soon gave, has already included all the carpentry items. If that's the case, then wouldn't there be a need for another contract to be signed between me and the carpenter? Please kindly advise me. Thanks!

Latest Update: Was promised by Uncle that today 21st November 2009, Flooring will be complete and he will sent a worker today to fix my toilet accessories and I will be able to sent in my things today. Called him numerous times before today arrives to ensure that he will make arrangements for all these to happen. Toilet accessories came in today, no sight of the worker, flooring untouched as usual with skirting not done. Called him and confirm that the worker will be here today, he tell me that the worker is on his way, confirm will come. Called again and asked him how long do I have to wait, he said if I want to go out, I can do so, when the worker arrives, he will wait there for me. After I heard that, I knew straight that all these was another of his make up bull crap. If any kind souls who are able to contact him, please let me know. Thanks.
