  1. Hi sevcrucio, Has pm to you. Happy renovation, although past experiences taught me that you only feel the satisfaction and happy glow in retrospect and not during the reno process
  2. Hi Songz, I bought the shelf racks with suction cups through Gmarket (Qoo10). You can search under DEHUB brand and you will find many choices. It is good for the tempered glass backing at my kitchen cabinet. A suggestion for homeowners who wish to put up glass backing and rack shelving at the same time, please ensure your contractor take the measurement and position of your rack shelving and inform the glass supplier to pre-drill/standby the screw holes in the glass backing at the factory BEFORE installation. Otherwise, you can't drill screw holes into the glass backing which is already installed at your kitchen. It will damage the whole piece of glass backing. And you will have to make do with the shelf racks with suction cups like what I do.

  14. Sorry for late reply. Has been very busy last week. We used "Jennings White P0949HG laminate with ABS trimmings" uniformly for all BI carpentry. This is non-glossy, but comes in shiny matt, so it's sort of anti-fingerprint. After 9 months, it still looks like new We also used white laminate (not of the same brand and colour code) for BI carpentry in our old home. 6 years after renovation, our carpentry still looks new. So I think it has to do with regular maintenance and on the daily usage. Having a open-concept kitchen, we hardly cook, maybe once fortnightly and we try to stick to non-greasy menus. Even after cooking, we will wipe off the cabinet surfaces with damp cloth. We also do regular dusting of the cabinet surfaces with magiclean duster, maybe once per week. Hope my info helps.
  15. New 3D wallpaper for dining area. Hubby chose to leave the wall blank to act as a feature wall. But I think it's a bit plain. What do you think? Should I "spice" it up with photo frames?

  22. Hello, hasn't been updating my reno blog for a while. It has been a crazy few months, busy traveling to Taipei, Bangkok, then Japan. Came back from Japan in the week of CNY, then plunge straight into CNY preparation, cooking and entertaining Finally, has time to update my blogs Bought some cool items to complement my house deco from BKK and Japan. Will share photos soon. Meanwhile, want to share some photos from my Japan trip. Travelled free & easy to Osaka-Tokyo-Hakone-Fujikyu Highland-Kyoto-Kobe-Osaka over 11 days. We don't speak Japanese.....it was crazy, I know But what an experience! Especially their transport network - you won't believe the kind of connections they have, especially in Tokyo. We stayed near Ikebukuro Station. It's "crazy" at the station, with people rushing every min of the day. When I say "rushing", I really mean "rushing". Once you are in there, you will feel "pressurized" to move at the same speed as they are moving. You have to wonder where they are rushing to? You see these crowds all time of the day, no high or low peak period, mind you. Then you stand in front of the ticketing machine and you will find yourself gaping at this huge network map, with all these colour lines crisscrossing We bought a JR pass before our trip, and travelled on Shinkansen from Osaka to Tokyo upon our arrival. And a few times en-route back to Osaka from Tokyo. They have different types of trains on each line. On JR Tokaido line, we can travel on Hikari, Kodama. Will log off with these Shinkansen photos. They are moving at such fast speed that it's very dizzy to look at the passing scenery as they move like a blur. Will share more photos next time, especially the Guiness world record rides at Fujikyu Highland, at the foot of Mount Fuji.
  23. Has moved in for 3 months now, but seem like still a lot of things to be done. But here are some daytime photos on BR3 (my son's room) and BR2 (my MIL's room) which are 100% completed: Bedroom 3
