  1. Oh yeah Oia. Went to the black beach too. Recommend that people go rent the smart car. Nothing special, but just novelty lah...
  2. Hi If i'm not mistaken, the fabric that are provided for the seamstress (or imported) are all a specific size. so if your window is bigger than this size, it will have to be 2 different pieces joined together. i think that's the case. mine are joined together too.
  3. I googled and found this Greek agency called FantasyTravel. Booked through them. So, one of their people met me at the airport and passed all the vouchers and ferry tickets to me there. In Athens, I stayed at Hera Hotel. Location is very good. Its just at the foothill of the Parthenon, and next to the Acropolis Museum (which wasn't open when I was there, which was a bummer...). Parthenon, the hills, Plaka, Syntagma Square all walking distance. But please bring your walking shoes, not slippers... I really can't remember where we stayed in Santorini! haha! But it was in the town of Fira. Basically, three towns where most people live in are Fira, Firastefani and Ia. We stayed somewhere between Fira and Firastefani. Just make sure your room faces the west where the sunset is simply amazing. Also, rent one of the Smart Cars (don't fill up too much fuel, it is really very fuel-efficient and Santorini isn't that big) and travel around the island. Up to Ia (party area), eastern part where the beaches are and southern tip where the lighthouse is. Ah, memories...
  4. Hi shespawn, No lah, went in April 2009 liao, for honeymoon hehe. 1311 is cheap! When I paid for my Qatar Airways ticket, freaking SQ was charging almost 2k for it. Btw, ferry services only start in April. So, plan accordingly. Also, when we were there in early April, most of the places in Mykonos and Santorini were not crowded yet. GOod, meaning no need to avoid drunk tourists and stuff, but also, not many shops or restaurants open. Also, still a bit cold. Especially the winds.
  5. Its nice, but yeah its expensive. I got the *cheapest* ticket to get there, via Qatar Airways, transit in Doha. Already SGD1100 per pax.
  6. Got a few companies that do these. Alumix, OM Cupboards, Closet Design.
  7. Jaskel tried to help people then ended up with so much problems. Sigh, bro, I feel you man.
  8. Wow, looks like it is going to come down to a legal battle. Keep us updated k? Anyway just fyi, all the years I have been renting, I never paid commission to the agent after the first year. Even though landlord and I had a new contract because of different rentals and minor details. So, I find it ridiculous for an agent to just collect rent every year for practically doing nothing, in your case.
  9. Fwah, decided to read the thread on superstar Ah Soon and found out that the sh*t has finally hit the fan! I was actually considering Ah Soon back in July but then I decided not to because he seemed to always fly aeroplane and my mandarin CMI. Well, just want to tell all you guys who are affected all the best and I hope you all get to fix the situation. Good luck!
  10. Oh, which series did u get? Anyone knows if any booths in SITEX sells home theatre systems?
  11. The white Hitachi UltraThin is **** sweet! But the 42 inch was gonna burn a big hole in my pocket, so I decided not to go with it. But those guys who want a really good looking TV can give this a try. Nice.
  12. I got a Panasonic 42inch Plasma S10. Reason: C10 was too reflective. S10 is much better. I watch Channel 5 and some HBO and the basic Starhub package, Plasma is better in that sense. I don't play PS3 or XBox (no money and no time), don't connect to the internet, so no point. I use my laptop and connect to my TV to watch movies, so I use plasma. And no, it does not get overly hot. And panasonic is the leader in plasma tvs now that pioneer has dropped out of the market.
  13. Yo, I did mine with Yick Hong. Point of Contact was Alex. You can give him Alex Ong a call at 91008767. Tell him Daniel from Chiltern Park recommend, as promised. =D
  14. I got my front grille done up by Alex too. Very nice guy. Gave us a discount too. Also helped us change the locks for our window grilles.
  15. Yup I'm in the process of taking photos and uploading them online. Actually, it's not messy, because my wife bought tonnes of those plastic containers from IKEA to put the clothes in haha! But then, that's the problem with WIW, it's the dust. As for messy, I don't think it would be if everything is stacked properly.
  16. Oh, because it is for my WIW. So, no doors or anything. I've got 2 sets of 2 drawers, one set of three drawers, one pull-out mirror, one box with mirror door. The rest are shelves and hanger poles.
  17. I got mine for my WIW from Alumix. It was SGD1100 for an L shape, longer L part is about 10 feet long, the other side a bit shorter. I'll say its not too bad. But please look out for scratches on the wood when they deliver. I had some on mine and had to reject some of the shelves because of that. But to be fair, they did come back promptly and replaced them without complaining.
  18. Alright, renovation done, wedding done, shifting done. All done... Pictures and updates coming soon!
  19. I'll go with squeezing the water harder than a second round of paper. I already sweep, magiclean, THEN mop. Think three times is enough...
  20. Hehehe, can't think of any other way already. Good for me lah, squeeze water and mop floor can be work-out also. Haha! Unless other forumers can help out.
  21. Sounds like how my tiles look like when my wife mops the floor. She can't squeeze the mop hard enough to drain the water out of the mop. So, just squeeze more water out of the mop. It shouldn't be water logged...
  22. Mine is quite similar to tuababy. Except the hood is shaped like a pyramid. And the three burners are next to each other, but at angles. And mine is glass top, lava colour. So far so good!
  23. I'm using a Panasonic S10 42inch TV. Bought at GainCity for 1400. I use it to watch some SCV channels and the usual terrestrial channels. It's good stuff!
  24. I'm using yellow downlights for my bedroom, cos I want that kind of feeling. While, in the living room, its white downlights. Not the white-white type, but the one in between white and yellow. Because I already yellow cove lights. So, I use these white downlights when I'm reading the papers, etc.
