  1. Preciousjam, where is Zhenghua village? Zhenghua is in BP right?
  2. Anyway, here are some pics of our plain ol' house. So intend to inject some colours in our new home. Living area All white, suspended kitchen cabinet Study room Guest room (convert it into the kids' room after my children were born but couldn't find any pics of it) Buyer didn't do any reno to the house. They moved in a few days after getting the keys.
  3. Thanks pinkpetter. Hopefully it will turn out nice but both bathrooms will have more white than colours.
  4. Went to Jalan Besar today to survey bathroom accessories. Shortlisted these items from Poh Joo. Any idea whether I can get a better price for something similar? Hoe Kee and GR Link were closed. Maybe going down to Heritage on weekend. Saw some pics from other t-blogs and prices were better. Basin for both common and mbr bathrooms. Not doing vanity top at mbr bathroom cos of the change in bathroom door location. For both common and mbr bathrooms as well. I think the mbr and common bathrooms will have the same accessories. The only difference is in the wall colour. Basin tap Shower mixer Kitchen sink. Something that looks like the one from my old place. Cost $287.
  5. Went for material choosing this afternoon. Unfortunately, only managed to take 1 pic of my common bathroom tiles. Was too excited to snap pics of the rest. Initially chose red/ white at contractor's office but changed my mind at SBH. Had a hard time deciding on kitchen colours as the husband and I couldn't compromise. At last, we chose white cabinets with black solid top and yellow glass backing. Reno co doesn't provide 3D drawings so quite difficult to visualize. Master bedroom wardrobe - Black and white Master toilet - Black and white Still awaiting reno permit and it's taking a really long time. 1 week has passed.
  6. Just came back from HK 2 weeks ago. Our 1st trip there and I quite enjoyed it. The tiring part was to look for halal Muslim food but no worries, MTR and a guide will take you there. I'm glad there were no food issues because there are quite a number of halal restaurants in HK. My husband and I decided to give Ocean Park a miss because Disneyland made us bored. It was fun for the kids though. We were there to bring them to Disneyland in the 1st place. We didn't stay till the fireworks because there was nothing else to see and it was only about 4+pm so we hopped on to the MTR and went shopping at Citygate outlets instead. I enjoyed the cable car ride to Ngong Ping and wished we had more time to explore Lantau Island. The peak was also beautiful and the boys loved the tram ride down. I find the people there quite gracious. We always got seats on the MTR because some kind souls offered us. My boys are 3 and 4.
  7. Yeah I know Consider it an investment :(
  8. Sure. We'll be in touch and updated via our reno progress. Good luck on yours. Which co are you using?
  9. That's near a famous school right? Good location. Mine's an EA. Reno hasn't started yet :D
  10. Ann, hope you'll be able to get out of the mess the ex-owners have created. True what you've said. If you're nice to everyone, who's gonna be nice to you? Can complain to HDB? Since you're now the owner.
  11. I love the layout! Which area in CCK? Btw, the price you paid is a really good price. Nice sellers to ask so little COV. Bought mine at 395k + 15k COV.
  12. Is your dad the contractor for your reno? So lucky can save $$ wherever possible
  13. Cat, can't remember exactly 2.5k-3k. Bought in March this year.
  14. Ve-ve, no problem at all. It's more stable than normal vacuum cleaners actually (as in it wont flip if you tug at it too hard..hehe).
  15. We've had our eyes on this thing for a very long time. My grandma has had it for 15 years before it went kaput.
  16. The actual thing looks something like this. The previous picture is a 3d drawing. Hehe. Very bulky and ugly cleaner but it's good for people with sensitive nose and allergies like me.
  17. Hi zhiz, your transformation progress looks great. Nice spacious kitchen. By the way, I kept seeing these kind of clocks in some of the t-blogs. How much? And where to get it?
  18. Hehe Mickey. It's the Rainbow vacuum cleaner.
  19. Rondy, true, just needs to fix a wide full length mirror in the living room and I can have dance sessions there. Happypie, that was what attracted us in the first place but I think maintenance will be a hassle. Btw, I think as of now, this is our most expensive buy. But used already lah, can't wait for new house. Too lazy to take actual pic
  20. Hi iluvmybeans, Thumbs up for your reno. Really like the white and black kitchen. Can advise me on the price for your main gate? Thanks.
  21. Yikes. Really ah. Then must really reconsider because if I don't use Citygas I don't need the hot water pipes, use only cold water.
  22. Some of the stuff that we have bought. LG Fridge in silver/ steel Would love the one with the flowers but it's a few hundred dollars more Electrolux washing machine Toshiba 42" but I don't remember which series (cos we bought this a few months back) Seriously didn't really research on these items. They are bought on impulse. Our bad! Right now we are considering the heater and dryer from Citygas due to its cost-saving features. Anyone using them? Any comments?
  23. Reno permit is still pending (takes a bit longer than usual cos we have some demolition works which need engineer's stamp) and the wait is infuriating. Hopefully can start by next week. Just let me update a little. Reno co which we have engaged is B/a/y/o/u Interiors. Our quotation includes EF hob and hood (very transparent - price listed and they indicated at the side FOC). The hood they are giving FOC. Exactly the same as the one in our previous house. But we might want to top up a bit to change it to this And the FOC hob
