  1. I think it will still look bright enough, because the windows are gone =)
  2. Thanks SGBuzz. Yup will most likely change the position.
  3. Enlarged service balcony entrance New storeroom entrance New mbr bathroom entrance My new ventilation window. Previously the common bathroom has no window opening at all (see pic on the right). The mbr ventilation window has also been enlarged. I'm a happy woman for now =D
  4. Finally I am updating again. Just got back from the new place as today's the 1st day of reno. Yay!! Even though it's just hacking but at least I can see the reno progressing. Waited a long time for this to happen since getting the keys. Reno completion is set on 5 Feb. Now still considering whether CNY is a good time to move. Timber strip flooring has been protected Thought the hacking was quite alright. No holes whatsoever. Hacked part of kitchen wall Smaller kitchen
  5. Hi, I was quoted $580 for the KDK V60WK fan by my contractor. That's a $180 difference man *heartpain* We should have gotten it ourselves.
  6. Cat, saw your kitchen lights, similar to Mickey's. Very nice!! Can share where did you get them? Thanks.
  7. Hi New, Anyway, what she said was also told to me by a reno contractor. He told me to get the cleaner for stainless steel and use it on white solid top instead.
  8. What's a p-trap? Dmay, your wc looks like the one I have chosen at Heritage but it cost $298 together with basin. Not sure is it good or not.
  9. Yeah I've seen but the husband has actually chosen. These were brought back just to show me. Anyway just got back from SBH to rechose the mbr toilet tiles. Chose beige and white but forgot to take pictures.
  10. I haven't seen the whole catalogue. My husband doesn't want to bring it home for me. He's afraid I'll be more fickle-minded later.
  11. Hi ossify, I don't have a problem lei. Anyone else cannot view?
  12. Remember the bathroom tiles I've chosen for common toilet. Should I do 2 panels of orange in the shower area (one panel at shower head and another mirror image) or do one wall of the toilet in orange (the wall with sink, wc) and the rest in white? Please share your ideas with me. Thanks!
  13. Eagle eye view of the kitchen. Service balcony should include dryer. Don't think I'm stacking them up. Most probably side by side because must make way for gas heater also. dmay, thanks hor. Now Im very excited already. Project manager confirmed next Tuesday will start work. Tomorrow morning going to SBH to rechoose tiles for mbr toilet. Change wardrobe laminates so changing tiles colour as well.
  14. Really like the layout of your home as in the plan. Big and spacious 3 room. Btw, realised that our 2nd appt is on the same day. Collected my keys on 12 Nov too.
  15. Just sharing some of the perspective drawings that I've got. No 3D drawings from my reno co. These are the 1st drafts. Changing from black and white to off white and woodgrain laminates. I'm in love with Lamchuan retro designs but don't think the husband will agree. Too bold for his liking. The ones in the foreground are the ones we have chosen. But I actually love them all. One side of the kitchen. The tall cabinet will have adjustable shelves. Thinking of moving the hob and hood to the left end to make space for rice cooker and electric kettle. Good idea? Or should I leave it as it is? The other side. The tall cabinet beside the fridge will be downsized so as to make space for a bit more counter top. The whole kitchen will be in glossy creamy white with white/speckled (the speckles are in off white and match the laminate colour) solid top. Glass backing will be in yellow. Saw this in the latest Square Room magazine and thought it would be a perfect table for the kitchen.
  16. Butterfingerzz, you never sleep ah? Post so early..hehe. Thanks. I'm actually choosing yellow as my glass backing for the kitchen and I like your shade of yellow. For now, we have shortlisted popcorn.
  17. Preciousjam, no need PE but don't know why they took so long. 7th Dec - 29th Dec. I guessed I'm one of the unlucky people to wait this long for a reno permit. But happy news at last!! Just checked myhdbpage and all reno works approved already. Yeahoo!! And what a coincidence too as today's my son's birthday. I guess he's my lucky star =)
  18. Don't ask me. I want to cry already. Last I checked online few minutes ago, still pending lei. The officer said by this week so I'll just keep my fingers crossed.
  19. Butterfingerzz, nice place you've got. Do you mind sharing the code for the yellow wall above. I like the brightness of it.
  20. Hi dmay and Mickey, happened to read this post. The laminates that I have just chosen for my wardrobe (luckily reno hasn't started yet so still have time to change my mind) are also from Lam Chuan. At first I thought the name's quite obiang but after reading Mickey's post, I feel reassured. Heh. My hubby brought home some samples and I really like the new woodgrain designs. Only that the colour's a bit too light. Must say the woodgrains are all very nice. Hard time making up mind.
  21. Mickey, I wish I could but not as long as I don't get that permit. Heh.
  22. Must take back your congratulations =( When we thought we were finally gonna start, turned out our permit still not fully approved. There are 2 hacking areas still under review although the rest of the reno can go on but how to. Must hack everything in 3 days only and we cant proceed =( My husband and I are getting restless already. Our reno co and ourselves have been calling the officer to ask him to expedite. On Xmas eve, he emailed and said the permit might be approved by next week. Early next week? Late next week? How long? The permit application was submitted on 7th Dec lei, then 11th Dec HDB side resubmit again, 17th Dec detailed elevation drawings all submitted again as requested and we are still waiting. Very sian already.
  23. Good news for us. Reno is starting on Wednesday. Like finally!
